I don't like onions and i modified a salad and sandwich on the pick up website and it was just the regular salad and sandwich, when I called and was upset because I'm pregnant and so nauseous that I had to throw up in the car because of the food that was smelling like onion so bad it was making me sick all the way home come to find out none of the order is right except Mac and cheese and that is somehow still cold in the middle. The manager told me I should have been nicer that my entire order was incorrect when I spent so much time modifying it and saving it but their website messed it up and it's my fault and I have to pay almost 40$ for food I literally can't eat or it will just make me sick. My boyfriend went back to see if they could correct the order and it is still wrong. read more

The food was excellent and worth the price for the taste. Service was top notch, with orders usually being done in about 5-10 minutes. The environment is relaxing, with a choice between tables and comfortable booths. Kiosks are available to order ahead as well. Restaurant was clean, both the dining area and restrooms. Would recommend for an ideal lunch experience. read more

The rating is 4 star because of my experience. I ordered a Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt and received a 1/2 Steak and Cheddar Cheese sandwich. I'm still satisfied with the visit because the manager handled the situation perfectly! She had no trouble with either remaking the sandwich or writing a voucher for the next visit. The Bennigan's restaurant on the Walmart corner has been demolished, and a brand new Panera is in its place. It's actually a better option for me for lunch in Howell. And the free wi-fi is nice, too. I'll be stopping here for lunch whenever I'm in town! They have a drive through, but I like to sit still and enjoy my soup while it's still hot. My favorite is the autumn squash soup - hold the bread! I like the way that the website lists not only allergens but a detailed ingredient list on each menu item, for people who need to avoid certain ingredients. If you don't have a smart phone plan ahead from home because the menu boards don't contain that detailed information and you wouldn't want to rely on your server's memory. read more

Order taker was not at her post , appeared distracted and disinterested taking my order , gave me a pager that didn't go off so I didn't know when my order was ready . Well walked into a small line and a young girl jumped onto the next register to help me. I asked about a soup and her reply was "people buy it". I then paid for my food and she rang it incorrect, I gave her 15 dollars and she rang in 15.05 so when she gave me my change I handed her back the nickel and it confused her. Table when I went to sit down were dirty and I had to clean my own to sit. Food as always was outstanding but it's the small things that keep you coming back. First off, I must preface this review with a fact: I've only been to Panera twice in my life. Both times, the staff were very pleasant while I was ordering. The first visit was to the storefront in Brighton. They left an item out of my order, and were reluctant to fix the problem, despite having my receipt and prompt contact from myself. For my second visit, which is the topic of this review, I went into the store on Latson Rd in Genoa. I ordered a pick 2 off of the menu on the wall, small Mac n cheese, and a watermelon feta salad with no almonds, of course this was after I asked if this customization was doable. My coworker also ordered the same salad in a full size, without special changes. Both salads were missing mint leaves, and had no dressing. Also, my small macaroni and cheese was only half full. The baguette was tasty though! My order was 176939 on 7-27-2017 for anyone interested. This was my second, and will undoubtedly be my last visit to Panera. read more

I have been here a few times now. Each time I order through their drive thru and they are extremely slow at making your order. For me it has been about 15 minutes on average. Today, I decided to order and pay online ahead of time instead. I arrived to the drive thru and the person tells me I have to come in and pick it up. I told her I'll give you my name and order number just give it to me thru the window and she refused. So I walked in and got my order which was missing a coffee. I asked where it was and she hands me an empty cup and tells me to filly own coffee. So much for the convenience of "ordering online". They should change this policy of theirs and put their customers first. read more

Every time I go to this location I'm sorely reminded of the last time, when I said I'll never come here again. Over the past several months, my wife and I have come both together and on separate occasions and have received poor service every time. We've gone to buy bagels at differing times of day and often times they will be all out of everything or only have two kinds. I can understand this at 6 pm, but at 10 in the morning? We've ordered to-go orders before using the app (and reward points) and have arrived later to find that the order hasn't been placed on the shelf. When confronted at the counter, I "don't have any rewards today". I know, that's because I used them to place an order that you neglected to make in the first place. I had to ask for a manager, and I was still treated with contempt from both employees. (Note: I've never had this experience at any other Panera.) The final nail in the coffin is the poor service. Employees have been short with both my wife and I on multiple occasions. Echoing what some others have reported, a hand out the drive-thru window for money without so much as a "have a nice day". I was shorted about $4 on a visit and I sat at the drive-thru window for 2-3 minutes waving my arms and no one came to open the window. Finally, the girl who took my money before came back and I told her I was short changed, and she gave me my money with no apology and just slammed the window again. I'm extremely disappointed in the entirety of this location and recommend to all of my friends that they make the drive to the Brighton location instead. I would rather make the drive there to buy bagels for events than suffer the sub-par service experienced here. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere, anywhere else. read more

Giving this Panera two stars is a generous gift. This location's drive thru service is easily the slowest. During my most recent visit, I waited for ten minutes to order with only one car ahead of me. I then waited another ten minutes to pay and receive my order. None of the employees visible from the pick up window moved with any urgency in the preparation of the food. I have never had a problem with accuracy or quality of food, so if you are looking for a meal, order online and give this place at least 45 min or an hour to prepare. read more

The Howell Panera is no different; clean, quick service, wholesome food; the only thing is that the portions for the price is a bit high. This is the absolute slowest drive thru I think I've ever been in. It doesn't matter what time of day or how busy they are it takes at least 10 minutes to get my order. They've been open long enough to have worked the kinks out by now. read more

Ok two weeks in a row - last week rapid order was not ready - about a 20 min wait (they gave me a free coffee) this week it was that they left out a fruit cup and their answer was well the easiest thing to do is for me to come back - no the easiest thing to do is get the order right or you drive it over to my home! - for a $2 fruit cup! Although I ADORE Panera in general, the Howell location needs better management/quality control. Orders are all too often incorrect. We do take-out and drive through most often and it's a pain when they get it wrong, which is nearly every visit. Brighton is too far so we will keep our hometown store visits up--- just not cool that they don't seem to care about getting things done the right way. Some of the things consistently incorrect: no croutons for the Bistro French Onion soup, huge chunks of inedible parts of the lettuce in salads, items completely missing, giving bread when apple was subbed. We've also noticed that we almost never receive cutlery which, for us being local is no biggie, but if we were on the highway after ordering and had no spoons for soup or forks for salad, that would be a huge issue. These problems persist over and over again, followed up with calm and constructive phone calls to try to help them get it together. I refuse free food offers and tell them to just try harder to be meticulous. A halfhearted apology (often from Tiffany) and then the same thing keeps happening time after time. read more
