On Wednesday, July 15th at 9pm we had a group of four. We walked in to have a quick meal because we knew it closed at 10. We were greeted by 3 girls who made it obvious they didn't want us there. They were laughing to each-other in front of us while grabbing our menus. All four of us noticed and felt very uncomfortable. Then we were sat and our waitress asked to take our order right away. Not even letting us open our menus. We made sure to be out of there by 9:45 because we respect peoples time. This is our local spot and I'd love to come back, but I won't if I'll be treated that way. As a large corporate food chain I think the greed overran the customer experience. Good is good but not great, staff are generally very good. Environment has not changed except the amount of tables and booths. The tables are far too close together the booths are much smaller and cramped. I had a friend who is a bigger guy that couldn't comfortably sit in the booth. We had to ask to move to a table which was a bit humiliating and should not have been necessary. read more

Came here on a Thursday evening around 7 for my birthday. Despite how full the parking lot appeared, we were seated right away and it wasn't busy (might be combined with the hotel parking next door). Our server Mackenzie was out of this world!! Pretty sure that was her name....she was a short brunette. Extremely nice and went above & beyond. I have a gluten allergy so I'm always limited. However, she brightened up my day by showing me how many options I COULD have (any pasta dish can be made GF) and brought me a cute plate of mints at the end (no GF desserts); see photo! Can't wait to come back. My only only ONLY suggestion would be veer towards a better wine list. I'm not really a fan of Olive Garden in general but I stopped in for a quick drink and it was great. It was actually nicer than I remember. The staff were all friendly, the building was clean. I was sat at the bar and didn't really have a long wait. The bartender was very helpful. I had a drink with a friend and it was a great time! Olive Garden is typically always a win for me, however this wasn't great. Our waitress clearly was not a fan of us, and normally I side with the wait staff when I hear that, but I honestly don't know what we could have done. I believe I was kind and was very nice when I was brought the wrong drink, but she clearly just did not like us. She brought us to go containers and the mints before we asked and before we were done eating (we still had intentions of ordering another drink and dessert). It was incredibly awkward and made the experience unpleasant. Also, out of the waitress' control, the breadsticks were burnt and the cake was frozen. I'll go back to Olive Garden, but probably not this one any time soon. read more

Friendly greeting as we walked in the door. Promptly seated even at the dinner rush. Our waiter Bruce gave excellent "high end" service. The seating area and aisles felt tight and compact. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and while it was tender, it was also very salty. Hi, once upon a time, food was really good and I was really craving Olive Garden so obviously I just went to Olive Garden. They took forever to bring out the breadsticks but overall the service was good. It was quite busy so it's understandable why it took so long to bring out the breadsticks overall it wasn't too loud but it was kind of busy for an Olive Garden. I ordered shrimp scampi, the Angel hair pasta was dry, hardly any sauce, the shrimp were good but asparagus was tough! Ate a couple of the shrimp was all. The service was good, our server was friendly and prompt. The ambiance was ok. We went late and there were not many people. We prefer it that way. We went to the Olive Garden for their "famous" fettuccine Alfredo. My Middle Eastern mother who has never made it before could have done it better. God rest her soul. I ordered it with chicken and broccoli. The chicken was rubbery, and had no flavor. I brought it home and fed it to the dogs. They liked it. The broccoli had no flavor and was mush. Total mush. Why would you serve that to people, makes no sense. The salad was very fresh and delicious, although, some of the Pepperoncini looked dry and weird. Those we did not give to the dogs. The garlic bread was not good at all. Very disappointing considering we went to have Olive Garden Alfredo. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs, that was not good either, and our son had the Alfredo with Gorgonzola steak. The steak was overcooked and not tasty at all. My wife and I will order take out occasionally before we leave for home. Two times in the last few weeks, we've ordered from here and before checkout the timing says 25min, however, after we pay, the order confirmation tell us it's over an hour wait. I have waisted over an hour waiting for sauce and breadsticks due to this error. The first time it happened I politely told the host and he simply apologized for the wait. This being the second time it happened, I asked for the manager, not to be mean, just to let him know of the issue as I'm sure I'm not the only customer to be frustrated by this and he is probably unaware. When the manager came out he simply told me they don't control that system and it is what it is. I further explained how frustrating this is for consumers and he simply repeated they can't control their online ordering system. It's been years since I ate at an Olive Garden. The family decided after Easter service that we would have lunch here. What an awesome choice. I love the bread stix and the house salad. The lettuce was crispy, tomatoes just right, onions firm and a splash of color with black olives and banana peppe. The bread sticks fresh, warm and full of flavor. I ordered the Taste Of Italy for lunch and wow, it was perfect. The noodles, sauce and flavor were just how I remembered. The staff were very confident, efficient and ready to serve. My spaghetti was good could have maybe used a little more sauce on it but otherwise tasty. However, I was so disappointed with the salad. It had brown lettuce and no onions. It was gross. I don't understand how they could serve that to people. My son and I have the same birthday, June 8th, he loves pasta and the past two years we've gone to Olive Garden. Last year it was pretty good. I hate complaining but the salad and breadsticks that were supposed to be rolling in, did not and I think that was the only complaint. This year was totally different. Our server was Winter ~ she is awesome. Always stopping by to make sure everything was ok. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri and she said it was warm and she was very sorry. Ok it was drinkable no worries. She said there was some kind of issue at the bar with these and if I wanted to return it, she would. I didn't. I ordered another and it was also warm. It didn't taste like it had any rum in either one. She had so many other tables that I didn't want to complain to her. Yes, I should've considering I'm writing a crappy review but it was the food and not the service. Our boys each ordered chicken Alfredo. Gav LOVES pasta. He orders it wherever we go. He didn't eat it all. It was not good. The noodles were undercooked and the chicken was dry and tasteless. I took a bite and yep, it certainly was. It was inedible. We understand understaffing. But when the bar has 2 parties who already drinks and orders in and no one acknowledges you after 10 minutes, it's a little frustrating. If your manager cannot make drinks or even provide any type of customer service, maybe don't have the manager run the bar. read more

We were very pleased with our meal at the Olive Garden in Brighton last night for Valentine's Day. We stopped there for dinner after Gail's appointment for a CT scan in nearby Ann Arbor. We were greeted by a jammed parking lot so I dropped Gail off by the door so she could get in line for a table. After three trips around the lot I finally found a parking spot. I was not surprised to find a very crowded foyer upon entering the restaurant. Gail was holding a pager and told me we would have to wait twenty minutes for a table and I responded, "Yah right." Well, eighteen minutes later the pager lit up. Immediately after being seated we were greeted by a friendly waitress who asked if we wanted to taste any wine; we declined. She then, promptly took our beverage order. I requested an unsweetened iced tea with lemon and Gail ordered a ginger ale with light ice. Upon her return with drinks in hand our waitress took our order. We requested the tossed salad for our first course and, per usual, it was excellent. Gail was not able to eat the salad due to some recent surgery so our waitress offered her some soup. Gail said "no thanks" and our waitress offered her some soup to go. Gail gladly accepted this thoughtful and considerate offering. We both ordered lasagna for our main course and were quite happy with the savory sauce and healthy-sized portion. Gail passed on dessert, but I could not leave without partaking in a piece of cheesecake with strawberry sauce; it was so yummy! In summary, we had an almost perfect dining experience in a restaurant that was nearly jam-packed with diners. We will definitely dine there again. read more

Dinner with Grandpa works out fine here. The minestrone soup is a solid standby --- some pasta, some tomato, some beans. The breadsticks hit the spot, though you know they're not something you could live on. The mixed drinks are largely too sweet for my taste... but I should have known that. Chianti's probably a safer bet here. Our order usually includes something in the creamy-alfredo range, and something in the simpler range... but somehow the particular dishes never stick in my mind. The table-console at each table is still a little weird to me; I'm more used to it in an airport setting, and I'm comfortable with the "call server" button, but building a full order on a touchscreen still seems like "This is what we do because we can't put all the servers on rollerskates." Nice. The fettuccine alfredo is like noodles swimming in milk. I mean, c'mon, y'all... How do you mess up alfredo? Even Outback Steakhouse does it better, and they don't have the cajones to market themselves as Italian. My sister ordered the chicken margherita and there was almost NOTHING on her plate. The tiniest portion of chicken I've ever seen - maybe 2 inches by 2 inches?? Plus 4 tiny planks of zucchini. Again, nice. And don't even get me started on the fact that they have a menu item called CHICKEN SCAMPI. Scampi literally means SHRIMP. Chicken shrimp. Olive Garden. Bruh. That doesn't make any damn sense, y'all. You know last time I visited an Olive Garden, it wasn't this one & I didn't care if I ever went to one again! But today my hubby & I had been to a funeral & we were hungry & decided to stop here at this one ! First off, we sat for at least 15 minutes and no one said a word!!! But then a really nice waitress, named "Evie" came over. Our luck quickly changed! Evie was so kind, she figured out a way to help me get just soup instead of the "soup 'n salad! Olive Garden is Olive Garden, no? Met up with old buddy to have lunch... One thing I noticed is they have these miniPOS at every table... with these miniPOS, you can review the menu, order your food, drinks, etc., play games, pay your bill and get a print out of your receipt - the only thing our servers/food runners will do is bring you the food and hopefully refill your drinks. I decided to test drive this miniPOS and ordered the sampler, ordering was simple and easy... the waitress came, took our other orders and when our salad came, the sampler came with it. I like the idea, but not sure if the device is meant to help the wait staff or reduce the number... either way, the service was really slow on this visit. As for food - we opted for the soup and salad... the soups tasted the same as other Olive Garden joints, the salad was decent, granted seemed like they were downsizing the dressing, because it didn't really coat the entire bowl... The sample was something that I would not order again... mozzarella cheese sticks, stuffed mushrooms and calamari... not worth the $12 we paid for... and as for the taste, well... sad to say, it tasted like frozen products, reheated. Breadsticks - is it me or did they make them more salty then usual? All I could taste was the salt and garlic; less salt on the sticks would have helped. After several months of planning my sister's baby shower, we learned the night before the shower the venue had no power...and it was Olive Garden to the rescue! We would have been happy with the most mediocre service, we just needed a new venue asap. My sister spoke with Amanda at 10pm the night before and made arrangements for 55 people. From start to finish, it was as if the shower had always been planned to be there. The staff was fantastic, the food was good, and our guests were very impressed. One guest said it was the best shower she had ever been to (and she's old.) The best part was the staff. Mel and Evie (Chevy) were amazing. From nice conversation to wrapping up our fragile decor, they were the most thoughtful employees I have ever come across. When it comes to my sister and event planning, I'm a bit type A and have high expectations. To say I was blown away would be an understatement. I was not expecting this from Olive Garden, but wow I will be back! But when the manager ignores a problem and continues to go table to table for socializing - it is unacceptable...
