I have been coming to Panera's in Menifee for years. It is not only about the bagels. It is the people who really make this place a pleasure to enter. Those I have met are nice people. It is the staff that that make you feel welcome. One person in particular is Wendy. From a personable welcoming smile and acknowledgement to taking your order, she truly makes you feel welcome. With a background in food service, she is a rarity. You never see her still. I can't remember a time when she isn't busy. Be it from the initial contact, to cleaning up the plates and floor to interacting with customers, Wendy is there and is a plus to Panaea. Hopefully management sees her value to the company and rewards her. In today's time that could mean a forty-hour week with benefits, career advancement, pay increase or at least a recognition of her value to Panera. read more

I have been contemplating writing this review for quite some time, now, but it's getting ABSOLUTELY ridiculous now, how long the wait is. It's become beyond frustrating. It's one thing making the food fresh, it's another thing waiting as if they were drving to the farm and fresh picking everything, then making it. That's how long it takes. Horrible Turkey sandwich. The Turkey Meat was in pieces instead of slices of turkey meat. I had to continually pick up the pieces and place them back in the sandwich every bite. We like decaf coffee. Many people I know like half-caffeine or decaf to finish their days. Most Panera's I go stop having it available after noon, so I call in so it can be ready by the time I arrive. Today they were busy, no answer. When we walked in, my husband asked a guy and was told he would start it brewing. We waited and waited. I approached a girl, who said she would check on it, then returned to tell me it was still brewing. Several minutes later, Wendy was available and went to check on it. It had not yet been started. Wendy got it started, provided wonderful customer service, and took our cup and filled it while still brewing so we wouldn't have to keep waiting. Thank you Wendy!! Your customer service is consistently spot on and I am always happy when I hear your voice on the phone or see your smile at the counter. read more

I have been coming here for two years and spending long days meeting family's for Homeschool. I have never once seen someone work so hard from start to finish and I have been here for almost 7 hours just today. Wendy is an amazing employee! She interacts with every customer, makes sure to help everyone that walks in the door, and is always thinking ahead. I even heard multiple tables talking about her kindness and how hard she works. I hope Panera sees what I see in her as a pervious manager of two different high demand service locations for over 20 years. I would higher her and make sure she is paid properly. This location is terrible. The drive thru is closed sometimes, they will put an orange traffic cone blocking it off even though indoor dining is open. When the drive thru is actually open, it is so slow. I waited for over 30 minutes one time and there was no line. I order the green goddess avocado toast from other paneras and it is always made perfectly, but this location puts barely any of the green goddess dressing on it. They just put a pile of arugula on top and I guess to them that's good enough. The workers tell me the drive thru takes a long time because they're understaffed. They need new management because it's only getting worse and worse over there read more

You have a better chance of hitting the lottery than getting a soufflé here. They are never available and always 20 minutes from another batch being available. There are forecasting models to know how many and when to make these, idk why they're not using them or maybe their wifi is out, idk. If you are lucky enough to see one in the case or have drive thru say they have them, you better run behind the counter and grab it yourself bc their system also doesn't seem to keep track of current inventory. I've paid for the soufflé and watched it get taken by drive thru and had to have a refund more than once. This review can't possibly be a unique complaint. read more

Dec. 08, 2025 7 pm Wow what a great place.. Highly recommended. I walked in, the place is completely clean, the staff was wonderful and the food was excellent. If you are a coffee drinker this place opens early and the price is more than fair with excellent coffee. We eat out quite a bit I want to give a five-star rating because they earned it. Guests are greeted warmly and treated with genuine respect; the team is professional, efficient, and hardworking, and they consistently go above and beyond to make customers happy. Lady at the front seemed real nice but new at the job so needed to ask manager for help on a few things. Place was not really busy for being a lunch time. This location's drive thru is by far the SLOWEST drive thru I have ever experienced. It shouldn't be a 20 minute wait in the morning to get a bagel and coffee. Have the cars with the large orders park in the drive thru wait areas rather than hold the line up. So annoying. read more

Slowest Panera I've ever been to I stopped going because it always takes 30 mins in the drive thru.

I see what the other ppl commenting mean when they say they take forever. 5 mins to wait for a drink I placed online! . Had me waiting at the speaking asking dumb questions when she knew exactly what I went there for when telling her my name. Should my order for ONE drink be ready like the email said it was it wouldn't run up your timer. They are pausing cars at the speaker so they have a good window timer." What is the name on the order" ---- "okay let me look for it" "Oh did you have rapid pick up" yes . "Oh okay let me look for it" then takes a good while to let know it's ready. Just so the car ahead of me can pull off and me not give her a high window timer. I work fast food too I know timers. One drink wouldn't run up the timer if it was ready. I've been to other Paneras and they'll have the drink ready in under a minute whether I place it for DT or in store pick up. Sadly this is the Panera in my area. read more

Panera, please retrain this location. Orders were not accurate, even with the signatures of inspections on the receipts to show they were checked, had items missing or not made to customer added preferences. Also, service is way too slow, even at the drive thru, compared to other Panera locations. This is not the worst location, but it is in need of improvements. On the side note, the staff are friendly, so the service is welcoming. The place is clean. The food is made fresh. The business hours are commendable. So, kudos on that. read more

If you have never visited a Panera Bread Here is my take on this rapidly growing fast casual concept. It's easy, and upon entering you almost feel like you are in line at Starbucks but perhaps a tad warmer. Menu boards overhead help guide you to find the items you want. They have full-service coffee drinks and self-service sodas Tea and brewed coffee. Place your order at the counter, get a buzzer and within minutes be ready to pick up your order. Bagels, pastry, cookies, sandwiches, pizza, soups and salads round out a decent size menu of items that appear to be healthy, or at least somewhat wholesome. It's easy to create a combo with 2 smaller size items that round out in the $12-$15.00 range, those combos come with a side of chips or bread, and you can add a big cookie or pastry for another dollar. Entree size salads, sandwiches and soups are also available ala carte. I had the Cobb Salad w Chicken and Cheddar Broccoli soup both were tasty. Help yourself to napkins flatware and condiments as well as most beverages. No employees will come to your table until you leave. The dining room is warm with rich colors and lots of wood as well as plenty of "Panera art" you are likely to find The Panera logo on everything from cups, chips and decor. I didn't care for the lighting during my visit, either lots of burnt-out bulbs or perhaps somebody didn't hit all the switches when opening. The dining room could really use a lighting makeover. The one staff member we interacted with was pleasant and professional but seemed a tad uneasy with the order taking process almost as if she was new on the job, non-the-less that part of the experience was great. It's great for a casual breakfast, lunch, or early dinner. A spot nobody stresses when the bill is dropped because you pay as you go, and with a nicer than average looking dining room that is pretty inviting.
