Check tour order, I couldn't tell you the last time they got my order correct and complete. The last time I ordered, the egg in the Cobb salad was rotten. This evening waited over 20 minutes for a curb side order that never came. When I called they said they hadn't started part of the order yet and said a manager wasn't available to speak to because they had 19 orders they were working on. My boyfriend spend the whole night puking after eating here on 1/2/2022. He said the sandwich tasted off and we assumed it was the spicy sauce they used in it that gave it a spicy but slightly sweet tang. The restaurant was very quiet but the dining area was dirty. Dirty dishes on tables, trash on the floor. We just figured it was a covid lack of staff thing but we could hear a good handful of people laughing and having a good time in the kitchen area. We didn't see a single employee come out to the dining area the whole time we were there. Most of the people (4 total) in the dining area were students with laptops set up, using paneras wifi. After we got home, and within an hour, my BF started feeling queasy and his stomach started to really hurt. During the night, he had to vomit three separate times. Ugh, horrible place to stop at if you have a short lunch. They take fooorrreeevvvveeeerrr in the drive thru (I should've learned my lesson previously). I don't understand what takes so long?! For a first time ordering here through DoorDash was horrible. I ordered 2 soup in bread bowls and the bread was hard and cold. I also ordered the kitchen sink cookie and they sent me what looks like a cold hard grilled cheese sandwich. Only good thing was their smoothie with peach and blueberry. The tape seals are not tampered with so it is the store getting it wrong every time. Our family regularly visits our local Panera. This was our first visit to Panera in Merced, and it will be our last. We ate at the restaurant and ordered a bagel pack to-go. When I ordered the bagel pack, I had to explain that it included 13 bagels and 2 cream cheese tubs for the Paneer employee who told me he would need to ask the manager to complete that order. The manager came over and showed him the bagel pack option on the register, but didn't assist the employee with the order. The employee didn't even know which size cream cheese went with the bagels. I don't blame the employee as he should have been better trained. I used the women's restroom. There was no toilet paper and the soap dispenser was obviously broken (hanging off the wall and empty). Dining room was also very dirty. Our food arrived and all the baguette sides were cold as if the bread had come out of the fridge. As a bakery, bread should be fresh and ideally warm or at least room temperature. read more

Weird that they could take my money without me being there (online order for pickup) but aren't able to refund it. I am so very upset and disappointed right now. Just got home in Atwater from the closest Panera Bread in Merced, to find my spicy thai with chicken salad (the only one I order) is missing the peanut sauce and the salad is mostly the hard white root of the romaine lettuce. This is by far the worst salad I have gotten from this location. I also did not get the baguette roll, instead got a small bag of plain chips. As much as they charge for their food, it would only be decent of them to actually give you what you paid for. read more

My husband placed our order on line and 30 minutes later were told that the order didn't go through even though it had deducted from my bank account and that it has happened before and I would be refunded my money within 2 days. This restraint is a disgrace to the world. They don't have regular bread, instead they have cinnamon bread for their sandwich. I would rather die than eat their food. When the drive through window opened there was a foul smell, I'm guessing they don't have a health inspector. Went there tonight and got 2 soups and sandwich to o, also 2 cinnamon rolls for later, it was expense($31.45)but their food is good. When we got home everything was hot but the 2 partial loaves of bread were so hard it took a steak knife to cut the crust away to eat the inside. When I called to ask about the young man said he could not hear me after telling him what was wrong and so as i picked up the phone and started to talk he hung up. When I come here, they leave out stuff, don't offer you your free rewards, and sometimes don't ask for your number for rewards. This Panera has gone downhill. The food is still high quality but there are some issues: 1. The prices have only gone up and it feels like the serving sizes have gone down. Times are rough, so they're nickeling and diming customers for things as little as sprinkling a little bit of cheese on the baguette fragment for your food. This is not sane customer service. 2. The administrative staff decided to switch from metal utensils to plastic, making some of their infrastructure (dish collection with slot for utensils) less useful while becoming less green. I'm not sure how they justify this decision. Maybe cutting costs will improve sustainability I dunno Im just some guy. This is a college town that values sustainability and I feel this is a step in the wrong direction. Star missing for each. Also my girlfriend Julie got the coldbrew coffee and it was incredibly bitter. I recommend against it unless a scalding tide for your gut microbiome is what the doctor ordered. read more

We continue to have the worst luck at this specific store. On the last visit, we ordered a full sandwich and a strawberry chicken salad in the drive-through. We pulled out to eat in the parking lot and discovered we had only the salad - which was old with black spots on the lettuce and mushy strawberries (which I just dealt with). Husband went back into the store in person - no one could find the sandwich so they made a new sandwich. He gets back to the car and finds only 1/2 a sandwich. He goes back into the store and they throw a fit because they felt like they already replaced his sandwich ! Eventually he got the full sandwich but it was ridiculous - meanwhile I'm eating an old rotting salad. Lesson learned: 1) check your order before you leave the window/store 2) don't eat at this store! This is the 3rd issue we've had at this store - 3 strikes and you're out! read more

This is the kind of place that Merced has needed for a while. I went on the day of their grand opening, and while they were still working out some kinks, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and energetic. Additionally, they did a solid job at making my order. I even spoke with their district manager, and mentioned that his team was doing very well. I highly recommend checking this place out if you've never been to a Panera, and if you have been to one...come here anyways. It hits the spot. read more

Panera has gone way downhill nationwide, especially since they were bought out a few years ago. I had never been to a Pantera before the other day when my mother in law offered to take us for lunch. We went at about 11:30 am on a Thursday. I'll start off with parking. Holy moly they could of planned that better! I recommend NOT parking in front of the actual restaurant because with the drive thru line you will probably get boxed in and have to wait until someone let's you out. Even parking on the side in the big empty lot next to it, at lunch time when we left the people leaving drive thru either didn't know where to go or were just impatient of other drivers because they were all going the wrong way down a one direction area leaving people who were following the rules to wait and have to squish to one side to allow the people going the wrong way to pass. Going inside it looked like a nice clean restaurant. The cashier was very sweet and nice. Ordering was quick, but in my opinion was over priced. For a half sandwich, cup of soup and a regular drink was almost $15 per person. But they were doing a special where when buying the combo and a drink they'd give you an item from the bakery for 99 cents. The food itself was good, nothing to write home about. And even though it was rush hour for lunch with lots of people coming and going I never once saw an employee come wipe any tables down. Customers did it themselves. The drink area was a tiny little nook next to the bathroom and the food pickup counter so it got very very very congested and wasn't an area that was easy to navigate. All in all the food was good, but not worth the price or the hassle of parking and getting your food/drink/use the bathroom. I most likely won't return to a Panera. And I definitly won't visit this location again. read more
