I think Panera is pretty good if you're looking for a deli sandwich. The prices are okay, especially since one sandwich is too much for me, I often share it. I usually stick to the Italian, I've noticed that the bread changes depending on who makes it. One day the sandwich is big enough for 3 people, and another day it's as if I ordered a half sandwich and was charged full price. I've tried the wild rice and french onion soup and both are okay. This Panera Bread was next to my hotel so it was very easy. I thought it was your standard Panera Bread with the normal food choices. The negative things I have to say about this location is that the staff is a little slow with the drive-thru and comprehending their own menu choices. The place was busy but they were moving the people through quickly. I ordered the soba noodle bowl with chicken. It was different, glad i ordered it. The soup had mushrooms, cabbage, slivers of carrot, cilantro and a delicious broth with sesame seeds and tender noodles throughout. The reason for the 4 stars is after lunch i got six bear claws and 6 pecan twists which cost $32! After i got home i was so disappointed. They both had a hint of a sweet lemon taste to them. I've never been to a Panera Bread so I didn't know what to expect. The place was clean and the people were friendly. It took a while to get through the line to order but gave me a chance to review the menu. I got a Thai Garden Chicken Wonton Broth Bowl and a 1/2 Cobb Salad with Avacado. Not sure the wontons were wontons. More like a tortolini. Spinach, cilantro, cabbage, and brocolli were in the soup and along with the broth, very good. The Cobb was very good too even though a bit light on avacado. This isn't the cheapest place that you can go to and seems a bit spendy for a soup, salad, sandwich place. However the meal was great and I'll pay a bit more for a quality meal. read more

Friendly staff, clean & organized, but a very busy branch. During lunch time hard to find parking so i park in the hotel lot on the east side or in Michael's craft store on the southwest side of cafe. They try their best to get you your food fast, on most days, there are two very kind gentlemen who go around & help you with cleanup - they make very sweet small talks and super polite! Under-trained and uninterested. Food-wise, correctly serving two meals was too big an ask at this location. Asked for a Fuji apple chicken salad with no tomatoes and easy onions, ended up with ample of both. Wife got a Greek salad, this one lacked the tomatoes and somehow had pickled onions. I had to pass her my onions and tomatoes. Like a child. We wanted bread rolls as our side; they said they were out. At Panera Bread. Wife asked if they could cut a bread bowl in half or slice up one of their baguettes and the keen quick-draw behind the counter had to ask her manager. Their beverage station was emptied and broken down a full hour before close. Obviously nobody wants to be there. Bathrooms smelled like urine and had chunks of paper towel in the sink preventing it from draining properly. I understand this is a college town and it's nearly impossible to get kids to care about anything, but the sooner you start firing people for incompetence, the sooner you teach them they don't just deserve money, they have to give a crap. We've been to many Panera's and never had anything but positive experiences. However, given the above, what would be the point of speaking to management in person? I ordered my meal online for delivery and they forgot to include chips with it. Also, the bread on both of the sandwiches I ordered was over toasted and hard to eat. When I called to ask for the chips I paid for, no one even answered the first time. I called back and spoke to a manager who was completely unprofessional. She told me no one could bring me chips and all she could offer me was a free drink voucher. I told her I didn't really want a free drink and she was silent. Literally nothing but dead air over the phone for almost a minute before I broke the awkward silence. She finally agreed to send the driver back out later to bring me a bag of chips. read more

I think Panera has lost its niche in the flavor of food they serve. Two nights ago I went in there for something different and exciting. But the food was basic. I got the pick two. The 1/2 grilled turkey on 3-cheese bread sandwich tasted like a grilled cheese sandwich I can get at home. The potato soup was bland, tasting like something off a store shelf, and surprisingly the chunk of hard bread expected with the meal turned into a dinner roll. We went there on 10/22/2017, at approx. 6pm. First, the "one line to serve them all" has got to go - the line stretched out the door, and it was raining. Second, your cashier was on thisside of being completely incompetent - couldn't answer questions, couldn't hear names, not asking for my Panera card, etc. Third, she tells us "we're out of a lot of stuff" - and this is NORMAL for this location, as they're always out of stuff. This time it was "we're out of bread," and I think she meant the side rolls for the soup, but she clearly said "we're out of bread." Now, other times when they're out of side rolls, they offer to cut of the white bread loaves for side bread - but not this time. Fourth, we got our buzzer to let us know when our food was "ready" - and it never went off. Why bother giving them out if you don't even use them? So, by the time we got our food, it was cold (and cold French Onion soup tastes like crap, btw). Fifth, the tables all over the restaurant were filthy. I get it's a Sunday night, but it was like someone had crumbled up Saltines, gotten them wet, and smeared it everywhere. Sixth, I find it beyond RUDE to ask for tips at a place that's just thisside of being a buffet. No one comes and takes my order at the table, you don't deliver the food to my table, the restaurant isn't clean, the food is just thisside of subpar, etc. Overall, the service and quality were beyond piss poor. This is probably our last time going to this location of Panera, because they're "always out of a lot of stuff" and the rest of what I wrote above is all too common here. Unbeknownst to me, I had placed the order at the Bloomington location. Brad was so nice and professional. He made sure I had my meal within 2 minutes and had me on my way.
