I wasn't a fan when CoreLife first opened, but recently tried it again and have been back at least once a week for the past few months. The large bowl is a great deal, and healthier than chipotle for about the same price. My favorite is the southwest bowl with a few modifications to make it vegetarian. The tofu is really good. Amazing fast healthy fast casual option. I'm so glad we found this oasis! I was a little hesitant or skeptical about the quality because it just reminded me of a "healthy" version of Chipotle. However, every ingredient was fresh and deliciously prepared. I ordered the Tri-Tip Steak Bowl (Grilled tri-tip steak, purple rice, arugula, falafel, pickled onions, roasted peppers & onions, pickled jalapeños, beef broth.) and substituted the falafel with chicken. The beef broth was such a delicious touch to the bowl. The side of sweet potatoes were also worth it! The honey, cinnamon, and brown sugar complemented each other so well with the sweet potatoes! They have a lot of handcrafted beverages for you to choose from (so worth getting a drink!). The 2 I tried were delicious! Food was great. I had ordered the Southwest bowl and my wife got the Greek chicken bowl.The guy who is at the start of the line who took our order was really mean to his fellow employees. My wife and I were eating and overheard the way he was yelling and disrespecting the two other fellow "women" employees. My wife was very appalled by the way he spoke to them. The woman who looked like a manager simply asked him if everything was okay and he just started yelling at her. The way he spoke to her was very unprofessional and he kept saying something about her grandfather dying which was very upsetting to hear as my father had passed away. I feel horrible for the women that work there because they had to deal with this type of disrespect. My wife and I again were very appalled by the way he treated them especially the manager. Nobody deserves to be disrespected that way. He has no respect for elderly people as one of the lady's was an elderly woman. My wife could not hear any more of it and we got up and left. Celiacs not eat here. It is no longer safe for Celiacs. Since they introduced bread...it is all contaminated. They grab the bread and then the salad mix. Handle avacados, swipe the food run and then serve the food. I spoke to the manager and came back in and it was even worse. Bummer they have great salads. read more

But alas. CoreLife to the rescue! Everything is high quality and fresh. I had the steak, bacon amd blue. Maybe just say the grass fed tri tip is better than filet mignon I've had elsewhere. So tender and tasty! I eat here nearly every day. I can get a salad with dressing on the side to take to work the next day. There are many well selected creations, or build your own. Excellent combinations that are health conscious AND super flavorful! When the menu item says 'spicy', they mean it re: chili pepper heat. Love their juices, especially the cucumber basil lemonade. They are not crazy sweet but I wish they would offer a sparkling water option to fizzle up the juices. Here is the drill.....Figure out exactly what you want before you actually have to order ;) as the choices are a little overwhelming. Place order, then move along the counter to the various stations where friendly staff will ask you what options you want (such as fresh grated ginger) and they will add it on a la Subway/Moe's. I had a spicy chicken bowl with ancient grains which was good, however, we visited during soft opening so it had some missing ingredients. I will overlook due to the situation and it won't keep me from going back soon. They do have an online ordering system to help avoid waiting in line or for carryout that I'll try soon. read more

We went here for the soft opening. In my opinion, they are very well trained, knowledgable and quick. The food was great and very fresh. I had the steak, bacon & Blue. Yum! Unfortunately this restaurant does not respect the Covid rules. The shift lead, Caleb, had his mask around his neck and every other worker had their masks under their nose. When we asked for a refund (picking up for take home) and we shared that we had unvaccinated kiddos at home and did not feel comfortable with their protocols in action, we were accused of being rude. I came to get some food for work and showed up before opening, not knowing the open-close hours (admittedly that is my fault) but I was able to walk in because the side door was unlocked and walk past the person at the register who was on his phone. He didn't say anything to me about being closed until i reached the start of the line to order food, when he yelled to me from the register that the place was closed, when I apologized and mentioned the unlocked door he ignored me and went back to his phone. I left without him saying anything else. Im willing to admit I should have checked the hours of operation, but I was annoyed at the unlocked door, and at the guy working who didn't acknowledge me until I was ready to order. I'm the type of person that craves a good salad.. and this place was my top pick over the holidays when I was craving something clean and healthy. I ordered the poke salad and added pickled onions, no tomato. It was so fresh and crunchy because of the kale, quinoa and fresh edamame. The dressing was the perfect amount for the size of salad I ordered. Also! I thought it was cute that it comes with a half slice of bread. I expected the bread to be dry.. nope. And let me say this, I was a regular at the CoreLife in Indianapolis near Keystone, so I'm a fan; this location, not so much. I ordered a favorite, the Fire tuna poke bowl. First off, the portion size was ridiculously small compared to what I would receive in Indy. Second, the tuna was not fresh; chewy and had just a bit of smell to it. Third, almost no cabbage and spouts were provided. And finally, the fire sauce was skimped. The concept is great but the food quality and price don't match the hype. A green, noodle, salad version of Blaze Pizza. You choose whatever you want to be added to your dry or soup based green bowls. I'm not impressed with their soup bowls at all. For the workers on the streamline not knowing the recipes and constantly forgetting ingredients. More importantly, the noodle soup doesn't have the coherent flavor or texture. It tastes like what you see in the picture, a bunch of unorganized ingredients put into a bowl. Also, the dishes are overpriced for how little to none cooking goes into making them happen. I've been here twice already. Definitely deserves 5 Stars. First off, kudos to a healthy restaurant actually eschewing soda. I've been to a lot of fresh and clean eating restaurants that still offer either soda and/or booze. I don't care for sugary drinks, but the lemonade options did have sampling cups and I tried them all... "for science" The regular lemonade tastes like... lemonade... the beet lemonade was my favorite, it's got just a hint of beet and it works suprisingly well. The cayenne lemonade did have some kick to it, I did enjoy the sampling that I had, but I probably wouldn't have a whole glass of it. The basil lemonade looks gross to some people, because it's very green, but it's not bad. The regular iced tea was my favorite, but I'm biased towards iced tea and really avoid sugar in drinks at all costs. How it works: The actual ordering process reminds me of a chipotle but with a LOT more options. What's important to remember is that there is a menu, but what's on it is technically a set of suggested recipes. That being said, there are so many delicious looking recipes that it's going to take me a while to get through all of them. Price: Both my meals cost in the $15 range including drink and tax. Stick to water and you'll be in the $11.50 range, which is well worth it considering the quality of food. What to eat: I tried two recipes so far, the first one was the spicy thai chicken noodles. Not great for someone who isn't adventurous, but is FANTASTIC if you like Thai food, it ends up being a sort of spicy chicken slaw with noodles in it. The other was the Ranch Skirt Steak. This is more suitable towards those who want to play it safe with more traditional clean eating options in it like rice, spinach, beef, and assorted veggies, with the Falafel being the outlier here. With the recipes, I highly recommend that you don't modify them in any way. You have to be willing to try new things but it is very rewarding. Quality: Ingredients certainly are fresh and flavorful. I make a lot healthy food at home, but sometimes when I'm busy working I don't have time to cook at home, and now I really don't have to feel guilty eating out. Portion size: The full size portion is fine for me, I'm a 6'3" male that's about 215 pounds. I like the double protein option for a post weight lift meal. If you're trying to eat clean and eat in moderation and you're smaller than myself, maybe try the smaller size. Additional thoughts: I really enjoy this place and the ethos, my concern is that quality is difficult to maintain, and it might be difficult to keep a loyal crowd, a lot of clean eaters like to prepare their own food, and unfortunately, in Central Illinois, a LOT of people just want to eat cheap crap. That being said, as a busy professional who doesn't always have time to prepare meals or make food at home, I enjoy a quality option and I will definitely be making this my go to fast casual restaurant. I also overheard that the ingredients ARE locally sourced and will come in and out of season.
