Swung by Panera for a fundraiser and had such a great experience! I hadn't been to Panera in years, and I was really impressed. The staff were so nice and welcoming, the food was great, and the drinks were just as good! The restaurant was also very clean. This is a typical restaurant of the chain. The last time I went, the menu seemed updated and in some ways, more simple and streamlined. What I don't appreciate is that it is an expectation that you will use the computer screens to order your food... otherwise wait a few minutes for the actual person to assist you. I've been to this location 3x, because it's close to my work. The first time was okay, not anything special. But the 2nd and 3rd were so awful. My order was always ready to pick up, but the food quality was horrendous. I don't know what happened to panera over the last few years, but the quality went WAY downhill when the company decided to cut costs. The vegetables in my salad were super watery and tasted like they had been too close to frozen and were old/going bad. Half the toppings were missing. My chicken was not the strips they used to put on salads, it was this mushy crumbled mess with a very off-putting taste. I ended up complaining to corporate because the quality was so bad I couldn't eat the salad. I received a coupon from my previous complaint to try them again, and I figured the soup can't be that bad.. it's soup. I was totally wrong. The quality of ingredients just isn't what it used to be. Barely got any toppings on my soup. The texture was so starchy and slimy. When I went to pick up my hot tea, the hot water was out. The people there seem nice, but I'll keep avoiding the food.. I always order you pick 2. Broccolli cheese soup and chicken salad sandwich. So halfway through my soup something I spooned out was long and because I couldn't identify it, I lost my appetite. I did take the plate to the manager and she said it was the skim. She informed she would refund the cost of the soup, because I ate the sandwich which I did, before I found the unidentified skim in my soup. My bowl was half full. Manager a bit snippy. It doesn't matter which Panera Bread we go to, the orders include almost the same thing every time. A strawberry smoothie. My youngest loves the strawberry smoothie from Panera Bread. I really like using the kiosks inside for when I order because it remembers my favorites list. Every Panera looks similar, not a ton of frills. The drink stations are nice because you can refill your drink before leaving. The open kitchen is nice because you can talk to a person in the event you have a question or issue. My food might not always be the best, but as long as the Strawberry Smoothie continues to be made the exact same way at every location, I will continue to give 5 stars because you made my kids day. read more

Stopped here for breakfast again and unfortunately they seemed to be understaffed. The whole time I was there, there was not one employee who was sitting around doing nothing. Even with this issue I will not stop giving them my business because this is happening everywhere. Sadly my sandwich was not made totally correct and my frozen drink was a little melted. Even with that said, they still tasted good and were prepared in a timely manner. The restaurant was pretty clean with the exception of a couple tables that needed wiped off. I've never had a problem reordering here before, but today, I ordered a half greek salad from one of my recent orders, and instead of subbing the romaine lettuce for spring mix like usual they gave me a box with my toppings and dressing... I paid good money for basically an empty box. I didn't notice until I parked at my laundromat. This is the first time I've ever had a problem with my order at this location, and the worst part is that I'm non-confrontational and don't feel comfortable telling them what they did. read more

As a previously frequent customer throughout the past 9 years, I am saddened to say that I will no longer be providing Panera Bread with my business. I have had several recent, bad experiences at different locations throughout SW Pennsylvania and a few other locations while traveling. I decided to give Panera one more try before my book club meeting today and was exceedingly disappointed with my experience. I knew I wanted a You-Pick-Two, but I was not sure what type of sandwich I wanted. I asked the cashier if there was a description of the sandwiches, since I'm a pretty picker eater, and she responded, "Umm... I think I have to click on each one on my screen." I ended up asking for just a plain turkey sandwich with lettuce and cheese. I was up-charged $0.50 for a slice of cheese, which is absurd because the sandwiches are supposed to come with cheese on them. I ended up paying almost $10 for small sandwich and a small cup of soup! When I received my lackluster meal, I was immediately disappointed because the soup was 85% broth. There was barely any noodles, carrots, or chicken in my chicken noodle soup! After discovering this I decided to move on to my sandwich. The first thing that was brought to my attention was the stale bread. The bread was stale around all four edges. Other than the bread being stale, the sandwich was completely mediocre. There wasn't much turkey, so I decided to pile it all on one side and make half of a sandwich. I didn't try my baguette because I was very antsy to leave at this point. Panera is not longer a place I plan on grabbing a bite to eat. It's disappointing that a business that once valued their customers has let their morals slide. read more

I think my visit here yesterday was the first time I walked into any sort of restaurant without having already placed an order for pick-up (since March, anyway). I was actually a little nervous when I walked in since I don't spend more than a minute or two inside at a time these days. But, I was hungry and really wanted some soup to take home after walking in Settlers Cabin Park, so I overcame my anxiety and went on it. From the perspective of someone who wanted to order food to-go quickly, I can't complain. A very nice staff member came over to get my order, and other than having to repeat ourselves a couple times (talking through masks and not being able to read lips is tough, folks), we had no problems. The floor was clearly marked with specific places to stand in line while waiting for the food to be prepared, which was appreciated. And since my order was small and simple, I don't think I was inside more than five minutes. Success - soup acquired! There were a minimum number of people sitting and eating inside, so I admit that if there had been more, I would have opted to skip the soup for the time being; especially since the aisle leading to the pick-up counter isn't the widest, so social distancing can get tricky in certain spots (i.e. when people walk past each other, when people are sitting in a booth by the aisle, etc.). Fortunately, Tuesday nights are quiet, and that combined with the kind and properly masked staff made a big difference for me. Hopefully, future post-park visits go just as smoothly! read more

The two girls working were extremely rude for no reason. I checked my bag before leaving and noticed it did not have the bread (all i ordered was a bowl of soup that came with bread) i let the worker know and apologized for the inconvenience and she stormed away and grabbed a piece of bread with her hand and walked it back to the register where i was standing and THREW it at my bag. very disrespectful, this was my first and last time at this panera location. read more

Typical Panera Bread although their fireplace was broken and it was FREEZING outside so I got the Autumn Squash Soup and the new Barbecue chicken mac and Cheese which were good. I think this has been my worst experiences a Panera. Every table is dirty even the outside tables. My spoon was dirty for my soup I asked for a new one, and the girl never apologized just gave a dirty look. Next my friend ate her bread when she pulled it apart there was a giant hair clump inside. Panera Bread is a chain restaurant you can find pretty much all over. Due to the pandemic all orders currently are takeout or delivery only. They do offer perks if you have their free card and you can get free delivery with a minimum $15.00 purchase. I had a $2.00 off "you pick two" combination coupon which is your choice of two of the following: cup soup, 1/2 salad, or 1/2 sandwich. They offer "contactless" curbside pickup but when I tried to do that the "I'm here" button,it didn't work on the app. I went inside to get it in their "rapid pickup" section. The place is clearly marked off for social distancing and everyone was wearing masks and gloves. I got my order and took it home. I had ordered their French Onion soup and strawberry chicken salad the latter is now in season. I knew the soup would have cooled down on my way home so I carefully put it in the microwave to heat it and some of it spilled onto my carousel. After cleaning up the small mess the soup carton had on the side "do not microwave." Guess they want me to dirty up one of my bowls in the future. The food was okay. The looks of the meal appear deceiving but you do get the same amount as if you had dined inside. I got a delicious baguette to go with it and a cheese tart for my dessert. For the benefit of those who would like a better understanding of eating inside, this is how it is normally works. Once you order you are given a buzzer and can sit anywhere. They have both coffee and tea stations along with fountain drinks. When your food is ready it is usually serviced on china dishes and there is a disposal area for your tray, dishes, and garbage. Free WiFi is available. There normally is a fireplace which is inviting in the colder weather. Panera bread also does catering. I have been to a number of events that have been catered by them and have never been disappointed in their sandwich and salad offerings. Since they are a bakery/cafe they sell not only baked goods for breakfast and beyond but bagels as well. They normally do get crowded over the lunch hour so it's best to plan ahead. This particular location is located in the center of Settler's ridge shopping and entertainment center and there is plenty of free parking available. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I'm glad I can support local businesses such as Panera during this difficult time in our lives. read more

They text you to tell your order is ready so you go to pick it up but you end up waiting an extra 20 minutes to get it. They ignore you and everyone else waiting on rapid pickup. Why text us our order is ready if it's not? This has happened multiple times. No longer giving my money to this place. Update: After almost 15 mins of being ignored I walked up to the people cooking and asked them if my food was ready. The girl looked over at 6 bags of food and handed me mine. Terrible service but not entirely due to the employees. At 7:15 pm I was at the register to place an order. After waiting 5 minutes I used the self serve option for an in store meal. There were 3 employees and the manager and they all seemed very busy with take out orders. There were 10 customers seated. From 7:20 to 7:45 I waited for a text that my order was ready. At 7:45 I went to the counter and asked if since they were closing at 8:00 pm and I wasn't sure my order would be ready within 15 minutes that I might stay past the closing eating my meal. The 3 employees look confused and I repeated that I would need to stay past 8:00 pm or I would like a refund. One young female said I could not stay as they locked the doors and accused me of being rude. I truly was polite but was frustrated by the response. This employee began becoming very belligerent with me and I stated I wanted a refund. A male employee grabbed the female employee by her arm and led her thru the a rear door. A manger then met me at the register and provided me a refund. I feel these employees are stressed out due to either poor staffing or poor training. The facility had no more than 10 seated customers and a couple of people waiting for take out orders. There may have been more take out orders being processed. I went to pick up a Fuji salad as I had to return an items to a nearby store. I usually go to the Panera on McHolme Drive but this one was closer. The salad I ordered was very small, missing nuts and when I called the customer service line, the gentleman implied "nuts didn't seem like a primary ingredient". Since he didn't know what was in the salad, he doesn't realize their role! He ended up saying he'd sending me a gift card but not before making me feel like I was being extra for expecting everything on my salad, no matter the importance. The service is pretty bad here. I waited behind a family placing their order and they took a little bit of time finalizing their purchase. There was a young lady behind the register the entire time I waited and did not offer to assist me until she realized that the gentleman was taking a moment to complete his order. When waiting to pick up my order, the lady just packed the bag and set it on the counter. It was only me and the family waiting for food, since they had dine-in, I could only presume this bag was mine. I went to the counter and asked who's order it was. At that time she confirmed that the order was mine. I ordered soup. When able to eat the soup, it turns out that I was given pretty much all broth and no actual ingredients. I placed a rapid pick up order. Went to pick it up and arrived at the estimated time they said it would be ready. It was not ready so I waited. 40 minutes later still no food so I asked the workers behind the counter if my order was being made. They didn't have it in their system and asked to see my order confirmation. After seeing that they finally made my order. I get back to work (having wasted my lunch break waiting for this food) and there is no dressing for the salad. This place is just not good at all and their workers are rude. I've been here twice. The first time I went, the cashier made an inappropriate comment about my boobs and what I was wearing(I had just came from a gym). The second time I go, I order for my food to be sent out to me(it said the wait time was 5-10 minutes) but I had to go in after waiting 35 minutes for half of a sandwich and a cup of soup. I arrived before the person that parked in front of me and they received their food before me. The lady that came out looked right at my car, walked away and didn't come back out. Not only that but my food was cold and they gave me a rotten apple(see picture) with mold on the top. Had I seen the apple first, I wouldn't have eaten the food because it makes me question all the food given to me. I don't recommend going here. They clearly don't check their products to make sure they're fresh. Waste of $10. read more

I've been to Panera Bread 4 or 5 times now. Each time my wife had to drag me in. This place is like some sort of fairyland. Or so they'd have you believe. I swear they pump something through the vents. People are so happy and all the kids listen. The babies don't cry. There's study groups and corporate meetings. There's rainbows and butterflies everywhere you look! So I get to the register and order a "pick 2". Have you tried to understand this? Don't think you actually get to pick two for this price of $6! No no. If you pick two, that's the pick two price! It's in green duh! Get it? Yeah it's difficult. Also since you know a half a sandwich won't be enough you order a whole, with the pick two. No. Sorry. You can't do that sir. That bowel of chili you want is an extra... 5 dollars more! Oh and a coffee, $2.39. So you get a ham and cheese sandwich on a 5 inch long piece of bread. Good thing the bread is also 5 inches thick. You'll need that for filler. The meat looks like something from a kids menu. Two little portions as big a silver dollars. Oh it's so cute! I took it up to the manager and asked if it was some kind of a joke. I literally asked him if the portion of meat on my sandwich looked ridiculous for 6 dollars. He agreed! The proceeds to tell me it's all pre portioned. Then gives me a double portion just to make me happy. Now I fit in I guess with the rest of the oh so happy people I'm eating with lol. $29 for soup and sandwich for lunch. Don't forget dessert. I eat at Panera Bread probably 3 times a week on avg. all over the northeast US. This location is by far the worst I've come across. Consistently understaffed, often out of basic condiments, presentation is terrible (soup all over the side of the bowl, none of the garnish used at other locations, sandwiches looking literally thrown together), long wait for food. I just left after my second visit to this location and it will definitely be my last. I thought maybe the first time was just a fluke, but it surely was not. read more

AWFUL customer service. I used Rapid Pickup-- an item was left out of my order, my fault for forgetting to check before I left....so I went back. I approached the back area counter where you pick up your food/rapid pickup. A male--with a yellow headband-- wish I would have gotten his name!! After ignoring me standing there for a few mins, he looked at my receipt, rolled his eyes, and tossed the item on the counter to me. Never saying a word. I order here ALL of the time-- they often forget an item, but no big deal it happens. However, when that's the way it's remedied...not good. I will not return, I'll go to the other location at McHolme. This employee needs some additional training...not necessarily concerning his job, but with his manners. read more

The food and service were fine on my recent visit, but I stopped going to Panera Bread locations in this region when I read the news stories about racial discrimination in terms of hiring and employee advancement. I recently visited again when a work function dictated that I do so.
