The nostalgia of endless breadsticks and salad... is mostly just nostalgia now. Don't get me wrong - I loved Olive Garden when I was a kid. Stuff your face but in a more elegant non-buffet feeling. However, this location has lost most of that nostalgia at this point. The breadsticks are never as fresh. The salad is questionable. It is good that they provide such a large quantity, so when you remove the giant butts of inedible lettuce... you still have a normal amount. Olive Garden always has new items and I tried the new Steak & Shrimp Bucatini. Unfortunately... or maybe fortunately.. the steak lump was not cut into pieces, so I could see that it was a piece of roast and not a steak. The lack of sear on both proteins indicated that the cooking is most likely just sous vide.. boiled. My wife got the Fettuccine Alfredo. Nothing to write good or bad about. It was just average. PRO TIP: Always extra for extra sauce! They are just scooping from a large pot, so it doesn't cost any extra to get an extra cup. Takeout does have its perks. Olive Garden keeps you updated on the order readiness and provides parking spots for curbside. Just like Target, tell them you arrive and they bring it right out to you! Good location located in the Monroeville Mall Plaza. Close and convenient to home. It's been years since we've been there because of a terrible visit we experienced. Our service was horrendous, waited extremely long to even be greeted and get our drink order. But apparently time heals and the memory faded. We had a gift card to use so we gave it another try and had a pleasant experience this go around. Good daily lunch specials that include Never Ending Salad & Breadsticks. Our server was nice and attentive. The restaurant is clean with Italian decor and a cozy family friendly atmosphere. Love their homemade Alfredo sauce with any of the meats, especially the shrimp! It's been many years since I've been to this Olive Garden...possibly 15 years. Stopped in with a party of 6. Called ahead and got whatever they call their reservation system, and we were seated almost immediately. Our server was a nice young man that took great care of our table. The apps and food all came out in good time and was delicious. Drinks refilled without asking. All in all, very well done at this chain location! Bravo! read more

This restaurant is not clean. Our soup was served just slightly warm which concerns me. It was definitely not a safe temperature. We stood at the table because it was so dirty we revised to sit down. Didn't end up eating here. The restaurant doesn't answer their phones, and when we went in person we were told there's a strict max group size of 12. This was the WORST experience I have ever had at a restaurant! I'd include photos of the food, but unfortunately, we left before we got our meals. I also can't comment/rate our entrees because, again, we never received them. I can only comment/rate the service, which was atrocious! We were out doing errands and decided to eat at Olive Garden because their web site said the waitlist was only "1-10 minutes." We waited 15 minutes, but I'm not complaining about that. It's where things went downhill after we were seated that I have the problem with. Our server, Dom, seemed uninterested in us. She didn't even bother asking my granddaughter how she wanted her steak cooked. Since we already knew what we wanted, we ordered our entrees when we ordered drinks. But that didn't help speed things up any. Our food took forever. When we next saw our server, I asked about the steak and was told it would be cooked medium (which isn't how my granddaughter would have ordered it). When I asked how much longer for the food, she asked if we wanted it to go. I said that steak wasn't exactly a to-go entree. We weren't going back home, and it isn't something you want to eat in the car and isn't something that tastes very good reheated. Of course, she argued with me that it was fine to get as take out. When the manager, Brian, came to our table, he wasn't any better. In fact, he was worse. WAY worse! When I told him we'd been there for an hour, he asked how long we waited for our table. When I told him 15 minutes, he informed me that that meant we'd only been waiting 36 since the time we were seated. First of all, 60 - 15 does NOT equal 36! secondly, since we'd ordered our entrees with our drink order and didn't order any appetizers (because we forgot), that's even less time the meal should have taken. And lastly, to argue with an already upset customer should be the last thing a so-called manager should be doing unless the customer had been unruly (which I hadn't been). That was the final straw. I told him we'd pay for the salad and my granddaughter's drink, but we were leaving. Oh, I almost forgot. Seated a few tables over from us was a man with a small dog. It had no identifying "service animal" vest on. I asked about how Olive Garden allows pets in their restaurant and was told they have to (uh, no, you do not if it's not a service animal, according to the FDA because of public health concerns, which this one clearly wasn't). And even when they are allowed in outdoor dining areas, they aren't allowed on the chairs or tables (this dog was on the booth seat). Then I was told they're not allowed to ask if it is or not. Wrong again. I wasn't trying to get a free anything free out of Olive Garden. All I was trying to get was the meal we'd ordered, and the meal properly prepared the way it would have been ordered had we been asked (the steak), so there was absolutely no reason whatsoever for the manager to be that flipping rude and argumentative. We used to love Olive Garden, but we certainly won't be going back and risking that kind of service again. This Olive Garden is one of my mom-in-law's favorite restaurants. She often orders takeout food from here. This past weekend, she ordered dinner for our family, and the food was ready for pickup on time. Here are my ratings for the foods: Chicken parmigiana - 5 stars - This chicken was crispy rather than soggy--yay! It was topped with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. I enjoyed the flavor very much. On the side was spaghetti that was cooked nicely and had the right amount of sauce. Salad - 4 stars - Whenever I eat inside an Olive Garden, I usually rate the salad as 5 stars, but I deducted one star this time, because the salad did not contain as much cheese and vegetables as usual. Bread stick - 3 stars - This bread stick was cold and squished flat. I did not feel like eating it. Donuts - 5 stars - These donuts were baked nicely, had a wonderfully sweet flavor, and were accompanied by a tasty raspberry sauce. read more

Firstly, our waitress was great tonight! We don't often go to Olive Garden but when we do we get the steak gorgonzola. Tonight, however, we were soooo disappointed. There was waaaay too much "drizzle" stuff on it. Mine was so overpowered by it that I could barely taste the gorgonzola. I couldn't even eat it. We ordered takeout for my Mom's bday today. I was very happy that they offer family style pans of several options. We ordered the chicken parm, cheese ravioli, salad and breadsticks. I loved that you could order everything online without speaking to someone. I placed the order last night and chose a pickup option for today. When you arrive you check in via the text they send you with the number parking spot you are in. Shortly after I checked in, a girl came out with all our food. It was so easy! When we got home and unpacked everything I was pleasantly surprised to see there were serving utensils provided for us. There was plenty of food and everyone was very satisfied. I ordered to go with friends and their food was all hot. My lasagna was cold and the cheese wasn't even gooey, I had to microwave it. My chicken soup didn't have many gnocchi in it either. Everyone's bread sticks were cold and hard. We were at pick up on time and only had a few minutes to drive from the location. I would be more understanding if we were late or had a far drive or even hit traffic. I just don't feel like we got fresh bread sticks and maybe my lasagna was the first they made so it just sat while they prepared the rest of the orders (3). Terrible from the start. Was seated and then nothing..had to search for someone to wait on us after 15 min. Ordered endless soup salad and bredsticks, but only got 2 breadsticks total after asking several times. We even got the Alfredo sauce for them. Why would we buy sauce if we only got 2 breadsticks? We also ordered lasagna fritta appetizer which was burnt. Salad was soggy other than the ton of onions on it. Asked for a manager at the end because we were sick of waiting on everything to get fixed, but they never showed up to our table. So we paid our bill on the kiosk and our crappy waitress got NO tip. They (apparently) don't sing or celebrate birthdays. My 10 year old was super excited about his birthday. He was telling everyone it was his birthday. We came to Olive Garden after a very disappointing experience at another place. OG was the "consolation prize." The hostess acted nice about his birthday, and we thought maybe this would be a good second choice. But, our server SUCKED. We ordered bottomless cheese dip -- which was expensive, but seemed fun for a special occasion. It was tiny, and refilled once. Same with our drinks and "unlimited" breadsticks/salad. All of the food was mediocre. The server seemed to avoid us for most of the visit, and it was a struggle for the adults to try to keep a positive attitude and "happy faces" for the kids. At the end of the meal, my son happily reminded the server (again) about his birthday. She said he could pick a dessert. We let our other son choose a dessert, too. The server told us it wouldn't be free. (Okay -- didn't expect it to be free. Didn't actually even care if the birthday one was free.) A bit later, she arrived with two slices of cheesecake in plastic takeout containers in a bag. She plopped them onto the table and walked away. SO RUDE! So unceremonious. And, while anticlimactic, was an appropriate ended to a miserable dining experience. I left. My husband made the server bring forks, and the kids at their desserts at the Olive Garden table. I have to say this was the best experience we have had at Olive Garden. It has literally been years. Mostly because the last few times were just terrible experiences. I do love the Zuppa Soup so much though. Francis was our waiter and he was just fantastic. We sat at a booth in the bar area. This also worked out perfectly as no screaming children were present, at least not close to us. Unfortunately for other poor souls, I could here one screaming off in the distance. We ordered the unlimited soup and salad. It is and will always be my favorite, with breadsticks of course. Along with an appetizer called Shrimp Fritto Misto. It was amazing. Francis was attentive, friendly and just great. I wish he could by my server everytime. Good and friendly staff goes along way. Nice employees, although we did have to wait a while to get the waitress's attention. Got the minestrone soup, calamari, chicken Alfredo, shrimp scampi, Sicilian cheesecake, and zeppole with chocolate dipping sauce. Bread sticks where semi warm and salty. A bit hard, too. Calamari was not properly crispy and the sauces were mediocre. I've had better calamari at many other locations. I really enjoyed the minestrone, though. Lots of vegetables, beans, and even some noodles, too. It's unlimited savings if you order an entree. The soups are all quite salty so keep that in mind. My shrimp scampi was decent. Nothing outstanding but not bad. Had a fair amount of vegetables, too little garlic, but large shrimp. The chicken Alfredo portion was far larger than the shrimp scampi. It was quite plain, buttery, and the sauce was not well mixed. The chicken tasted like it came out of a frozen package. Don't know why people praise this dish. Finally, the desserts were the saving grace. I thoroughly enjoyed the Sicilian cheesecake with strawberries. It was a bit airy and had a whipped consistency. Not too sweet either. The zeppoles came in a large portion with a chocolate sauce. They were still warm, had lots of powdered sugar, and had a fantastic flavor+texture. Good portion too (8). Still, they are overpriced for fried dough. I've had their Tiramisu before, too, and it wasn't stellar but not bad. Most of the food here is forgettable. read more

It comes with spicy Italian sausage, fresh kale and russet potatoes in a creamy broth!!! You can tell that there is sausage in the soup. The potatoes were cooked properly. Not hard & not mushy. Pretty much perfect! I love kale & would love to have more if it in the soup. It has some in it. Not a bunch. The broth is tasty!! The salad was good. Won't be back to this location. Usually og is one of my favorite places to go so I feel like I know what to expect and definitely didn't get it. Unresponsive hostesses. Went to the bathroom right off the bat, my family got seated...even though the lobby was empty they ignored me so I figured what the heck I'm sure I am find them...went to the wrong side of course so I asked them to help and they reluctantly did. Told them they were out of paper towels in the women's room - no response. Sorry but isn't that like the only two jobs you have? Fail. Server didn't ask us if we wanted to sample wine so we didn't order any which we would've. Heard him ask the table behind us tho. Had to snag an electronic table thingy and the specials menu from an empty table across the aisle. Returned our calamari app because it was basically tiny balls of breading. Neither the cooks nor the server should've given us that just based on common sense. Entrees were fine but salad had next to no dressing. Upon leaving the restaurant, no acknowledgement from hostesses again in an empty lobby with the exception of our server who was sitting there on a bench looking like he was going to cry, which is exactly why I didn't bring any of this up in person. For a chain, Olive Garden gets the formula right for fast service, good food, nice atmosphere, and most importantly, consistency in food quality. I've never had to send back a meal because the pasta was under or over cooked. I'm saying this because at more pricey venues, I have had to do just that. What I enjoy most ordering is the unlimited breadsticks, salad, and soup -- all for 10.99. If you don't see that option on the menu, ask. They do have it. Satisfying every time. Their flat breads are very nice, too. Oh, and I also enjoy a glass of Reisling with my meal. Quite nice. As far as this particular locale, my husband and I almost always are able to dine in the bar area at either a high top or regular table even if the waiting area is packed. The bar is first-come, first-serve and I actually enjoy dining there more than the dining room. It's cozier and the service is just as good. Paying is your choice -- either self-serve with a table-top credit-card taker or via the server. And chocolate mints. I like that as a nice touch at the end. But diner beware -- do NOT put them in your purse and forget they are there on a warm day... you have been warned. read more

Food tasted good. Server kinda seemed like we were bothering him when asking for anything, including refills (which we only got one of any). It was a table of 4. We were told there were no breadsticks, even though all the tables around us received them after we sat down. We did ask multiple times for them as well. Not getting breadsticks isn't a deal breaker, it's just a part of the experience. But when everyone else around your table is getting them and you've asked and we're told "none are left", that's a little weird. read more

Ordered takeout to take home after work. It was about a 5 to 10 minute wait for someone to bring my meal out. The vervet did a great job of showing what all the food items were and how he had also included plastic silverware. I didn't at until about an hour later but the food was still fairly warm and the breadsticks edible. Next time I might eat a little sooner or heat it up at home. The portion size for the soup is pretty generous and feels like a great deal if you get it instead of the salad. read more

Our overall experience at this Olive Garden was pretty average maybe even below average. We came on a Tuesday night with 8 people at 7 PM. We had to wait 30 mins for a table. We then sat down and ordered drinks. We all ordered endless pasta but the service was pretty slow. I wouldn't say it was all of the waiters fault as he stated the breadsticks were in the oven. We didn't even get breadsticks until we were onto our second pasta and almost done. Most of us did salad with our entrees and only received three bowls total the whole night. I maybe had one small plate all night. By like 9:20 PM we were just over the whole experience and got our checks. We probably won't be back to this Olive Garden. The best thing of the whole experience was the $5 strawberry margarita (do recommend that drink)! read more

I've always been a fan of this chain restaurant. This Olive garden location is no different for me. With daily food specials and drink specials, it's an affordable and easy meal. I went for lunch and ordered a few appetizers to eat as my meal, since we were not as hungry as we would've been for dinner. While the restaurant was rather busy for lunch, we were able to be sat in a relatively emptier part of the dining room which allowed for a more intimate date. Our server, I believe his name was Dawson, greeted us almost immediately and was super attentive the whole time. He was quick to get us our drinks (or at least let us know that the bar was making them) and our food was out promptly. Historically, I've had some experiences where the breadsticks aren't re-filled but he was quick to check on us each time our basket got low. Breadsticks did not taste as fresh as normal, but nothing that stopped us from eating them! I ordered the shrimp scampi as a meal (normally an appetizer) and my boyfriend ordered the trio appetizer. He chose the seafood stuffed mushrooms (a must!), lasagna fritta and fried calamari. This was really good for us to be able to try a bunch of different foods from here that we haven't yet before. The only thing I wish we hadn't done was order so many fried options We both ordered from their $5 daily drink menu, both getting watermelon margaritas. The margaritas were SO small, but SOOOO delicious. Good marketing strategy because we ended up ordering more!! I'm usually not a fan of fruity margs, but watermelon has made me change my mind. Throughout the entire experience our server was super attentive and friendly. I'm very attuned to the quality of service that we got, and i was really impressed this time.
