Came in on a Monday night with a friend. She used the kiosk to order, so hers was speedy. I ordered in person because I wanted to pay in cash and it was a little slower. I did the You-Pick-Two, with a turkey sandwhich a bread bowl of broccoli cheddar soup. The soup was fabulous, with tasty chunks. The sandwhich wasn't anything spectacular -- and I even added cheese! It was nice to see lots of people meeting at this location. Saw a job interview for a babysitter, and some folks signing papers on a new house. Clearly, people feel safe meeting at Panera. Otherwise, there was no "wow" factor to this visit, and I'd say the turkey sandwhich needs some improvement. read more

Staff is very unprofessional. I deliver food for them and was asked to confirm the order. I did for the first prompt, the second confirmation starts my drive time. I was on a double order. On my way out the staff stopped me, harrassed me about policy change stating i need to confirm twice or not take the food for my delivery. I asked to see the policy and stated that the in app instructions ​inform me to check my order and pick up on shelf, which I did. Brooke, Sam, and Lakisha harassed me while I was following the instructions Panera provided for puck up. I was told they would look up my name in the system. I have never stole food and was treated like a criminal. Physically touching me and trying to pull the order out of my hand was NOT OK. Please update the app for correct instructions for drivers and have someone on expo at all times to make sure orders are checked if that is your policy. Yelling and chasing people down is not ok, professional, or reasonable. I have never been treated that way by any establishment. I would like someone to contact me back. read more

Dec 1st is the last time that I'll eat at Panera, Puyallup. I've been there about 3 times before and each time was a disappointment but I didn't pick it this time. .I ordered a Chicken sandwich (can only get Chicken, no other meat). it came with a bag of chips.. It was a Chicken patty with really nothing else but some greenery inside.. Tasteless. My friend ordered a Chicken sandwich, different from mine, and it was nothing. When the guy brought my food, she asked if they had run out of Chicken as there was so little Chicken on it and both sides were the same..Chicken wasn't spread around . He said no..that is the amount they are to put on a sandwich which is 1.5 ounces. She took a picture and talked to the manager when leaving and was again told that 1.5 oz is the amount they are to put on a sandwich and it's weighed. The last person had ordered the Broccoli and something salad and it had Cilantro in it which she hates so that was another mark off... I also noticed that bowls of soup are only about 2/3 full and salads are quite small.. All I can say is that Panera is overated and terribly expensive.. Never again..The only good item was the Pecan Twist that I bought and brought home.. read more

Panera is slowly going down hill. Seriously what is the purpose of having a drive thru? Ive been stuck in line for 30 minutes and the worst part, I sat in front of the speaker for 10 minutes and was not created by 1 person. We stopped by here a few weekends ago on our way back from Mt. Rainier. It was a Sunday around 1pm and the place was completely packed. But service was fast and our salads were well made and tasty. That day, the staff were hustling. The Hubs and I would go back again next time we go on another trip to hike the mountain. read more

They took over this building when Krispy Kreme lef, they did a real good job at remodeling the building and unlike the Tacoma Mall location, this one I thought was very clean and had very good employees. They do have a nice selection of food offerings here, plus of course I like the fact they have Pepsi products lol. The main drawback here IMO, its locationed at the South Hill Mall area- and if you ever been here you know how much of a headache it is getting around the area! Love Panera's Chai, breakfast brioche, all the breads, and the lunch soups. This is an easy place to find on South Hill, the wait staff is very friendly, and they are usually busy at lunch, so try to avoid that time. I have found that their attention to order detail is lacking, especially on take out orders. Earlier I ordered two family style soup and sandwiches and found when I got home that one was an individual soup. Yes, I should have looked more closely, but I don't have this problem at my "home" Panera, so it didn't occur to me to double check. Tonight they got our order wrong and I had to ask about it several minutes after the first meal was served. They were very apologetic and quickly made the second soup. That (major) problem aside, I love Panera's food. It's consistently fresh and tasty from one restaurant to the next, prices are reasonable, and each facility is clean and efficiently run. I gave them a 3 because it was the second time I've had the same problem. I'd give the food a 5, as I would the other aspects of their service. read more

My wife, daughter and I love Panera. But on our first visit to this particular location that used to be a Krispy Kreme we were very underwhelmed. We all got the You Pick 2 combo and were all offered a soft roll instead of the customary baguette side. Maybe that's a national thing; if so, it sucks. The ONLY reason we go to Panera is because their breads are far superior to most other chain restaurants. But our major gripe was the filthiness of the eating area. Most of the empty booth tables had wet puddles, or little trails of food crumbs on them. We did find a booth table that was relatively clean, but on further inspection the floor under the table was filthy. The food, aside from the horrid soft dinner rolls, was customary good solid Panera fare, delivered to our table in a reasonable timeframe. But I found a human hair in one of my last bites of salad. Once again we showed up to have breakfast and no quiches in sight. That makes twice that we have gone and have had to go somewhere else to eat. How difficult can it be to put the food in the oven and set the timer. Guess I'll won't be going there again. Shame on you paneras. Update - nov 2016 Have been back a couple times to have breakfast and have had the quiche twice. They are getting better or was it just timing. They did run out of the dark and light coffee one morning. Had to tell staff about it. They did have a dark ready to put out. The light took a bit longer. Guess the get a 3 out of 5 stars. Very hit or miss, pastries and bagels can be good if you go at the right time. They often sell out of items early and don't replenish. The service is similar, I've had trips where they gave me 8 bagels after paying for 14 and I've had trips where they've giving me a free pastry. Every trip is a crap shoot. This location used to be the old Krispy Kreme spot in the South Hill Mall parking Lot. It opened last Wednesday, so the lines are pretty full, however we had barely a wait. Typical Panera bread location, although seating capacity is over 130. The Mediterranean Veggie is the way to go, along with a side salad. The you pick two combo is a decent deal for quick and fast food on south hill. They also have a rewards program, so the more you eat, the more you get back! read more

So I am a huge drive thru junkie. I was looking for a place to go for lunch and for some reason the sound of fast food made my stomach turn. I was driving passed panera bread and saw they had a drive thru! I quickly turned around and lined up waiting to place my order. There was 6 cars in front of me. But it went surprisingly fast. I ordered the pick 2. A small cup of potato soup and the turkey Apple Asiago sandwich and of course a large Pepsi. I absolutely hate vegetables but I thought I would give it a try. The cashier was very friendly. I then paid and parked in the parking lot. The soup was excellent! And now the moment of truth... The loaded full of healthy greens sandwich, I took a bite and... It is by far the best sandwich I have ever eaten!!! Thank you panera bread for making my first experience here awesome!!!! read more

This is the second time I've received a salad that has mostly bad lettuce...this should not be sold for people to consume. This is potentially hazardous. Management every shift should double check thoroughly that their lettuce is sellable. Avoiding their salads now for sure. You know the cashiers are new when they don't ask what sides you want with that salad or soup. And by default you get some bread, which is okay, but would be nice if they asked. Generally people are nice, but they are not perfect people, so sometimes they get your order wrong; if they do, make sure and tell them and ask them to redo them. The place is clean and welcoming enough, except for the bathrooms, maybe, but oh well, probably still better than the ones in the mall. The large seats are nice too, and that they bring your food and probably clean after you leave. So maybe that's why the price is high? It's a chain cafe so this store doesn't control the price but maybe the price includes the service. In that case, I don't mind paying a few more dollars if I don't have to pay tip. I'm not sure about this store, but usually the cafes with fresh baked goods can donate day old baked goodies if you ask as a church rep or something. And that's why at the church I go to (not in Puyallup) they always have Panera snacks. Since I can eat these oldies for free, I don't want to pay for the pastries. But they are good nonetheless even if it's a day old, I mean, I can't tell the difference. I always get either the fuji apple chicken salad or the onion soup and I love them. And if you're a member, you get some discounts and free stuff. My mom got a free coffee everyday for like a week or smth and I loved their hazelnut coffee. read more

Yes, they have awesome quality breads and sweet baked goods....and some tasty entree, soups and salads. My gripe is price and portion on most of the meals. I'm not a big eater and could certainly eat a combo meal (1/2 sand. w/soup or salad). I'd rather pay a couple dollars more like I normally do somewhere else though to have other 1/2 to take home for later.There is no way I could take my grown son or hubby here unless they considered it a light bite between meals, and at these prices who could afford to eat another meal out in same day? They'd have to eat TWO sandwiches and either a Bowl of soup or entree size salad to be really satisfied, meaning a 20 dollar meal EACH! They aren't pigs, but when hungry want a hearty meal, not a full size sandwich that comes more like a 1/2 size would be from Jersey Mikes or many other places. The place is packed much of the time though so they are obviously making alot of people content. Like I said, I DO love their baked goods. It really gets me though to pay 1.50 for a TBS of cream cheese to go with a bagel that costs 2.19. I won't pay for it, I'll just bring bagel home and use my own cream cheese that cost 1.50 for 6 oz. container! One final comment, the last 3 times I've gone to grab a coffee/scone (normally great coffee) with my daughter either the creamer was empty or dark coffee empty having to track someone down to have them refill it and today the dark coffee tasted more like light coffee, watered down, ugh. The food is usually pretty good from here. The hard part is getting your complete order. Out of my last three orders, there has been at least one missing item per order. This is very annoying seeing as they are pretty expensive for "fast food" and they always pack everything in one bag making it difficult to dig through and make sure all your food is there. Nope. Was just there and after being ignored by 3 different employees (I believe one was Rachel Idk) we left. We entered, there were two employees at the counter one filled an order for previous customer not so much as a greeting from her and the other was clocking out and leaving even tho we, plus one other customer were waiting in line. Despite having kiosks human beings prefer human interaction especially when they were not THAT busy! The 3rd employee was simply up front to clock in? Still did not acknowledge us standing there waiting. Here's a solution see your customers as groceries in your fridge without them, you don't have groceries, you can't pay rent, you can't pay utilities see the BIG picture?
