Recently, I stopped to eat with here with my 2 young sons on our way home to Indiana from Tennessee. I accidentally left my purse at our table and didn't realize it until hours later when I stopped to fuel up. Long story short.... an employee named Leslie and the store manager went way out of their way to get my purse back to me. Nice atmosphere at this Panera but slow service. I use this as an escape from working at home and enjoy the environment. The service is lacking when using the "order from table" app option. Panera food is basically the same everywhere, you can't really mess that part up. But this particular location is dirty. Every single table and booth seat was covered in crumbs and grease smears, making it hard to find somewhere to sit free of someone else's mess. read more

I have quarterly meetings in Richmond and am in charge of ordering lunches for our meeting. I use Panera in Richmond 1-2 times per year for this meeting lunch. I typically order a large salad that will feed 8-10 folks and then either an array of sandwiches or soups depending on the season. My order usually comes with chips, cookies and pickles and if I need an extra one of something they always meet my needs. They are very accommodating as I usually have to ask for special menu items due to food allergies and individual taste of my board members. They will deliver the order at an extra expense. I think the delivery fee is $25 which is a bit excessive in my opinion since we are literally right across the street from the Panera location. They are good about always bring extra plates, utensils, dressings, bread, etc. to make sure we have everything we need for our lunch. The catering "girls" always call to check on me and make sure the order is right. They also call periodically if I have not ordered to see if they can be of assistance. Which is a nice touch. When they deliver the food they take the time to set it up, open all the containers and leave all the packaging for leftovers. Good for catering. read more

We just stopped for lunch and this place was crazy busy. Filthy floors littered with food, napkins and whatever else. Small Panera-seating is tough during lunch hour. When did the Pick 2 go to individual prices on everything? $25 for two pick two is a little expensive. I could have gone to a sit down, wait on me restaurant for that price. read more

I have always enjoyed Panera Bread in the past. However, this last time I ordered a full size salad that I always have ordered in the past & I was very surprised at how small it was. Very disappointing for the price you pay. Their prices are high with the amount of food you receive. Also, I asked very politely if the music could be turned down just a bit & it never happened. Worst experience i've ever had at a Panera Bread. Food was not only over priced but took over 30 minutes to arrive at my table. The store only had a few other customers inside so it wasn't due to being busy. The salad was fine, but the sandwich (which is supposed to be hot) was room temperature. I'm always a little disappointed when I eat at this Panera. They seem to frequently be out of things that a Panera shouldn't run out of (like bread and croutons). When there's no bread, I get an apple, but it's never a very good one. I had a free cookie reward on my Panera card, but they were out of chocolate chip cookies. These are fairly minor issues, but Panera costs too much to be leaving stuff out of your to-go bag. If this location had a drive-thru, they'd get an extra star for the added convenience, but they don't. read more

Broccoli cheddar soup was alright. Sandwich was great. Music was amazing, it's like they saw me walk in and thought "yeah, this girl loves the Milk Carton Kids and Iron and Wine. I didn't notice until I was in the bathroom, where the music was noticeably louder and made for a great restroom experience. I also appreciate the packets of spicy mustard. Excellent atmosphere. Reminds me a lot of a Starbucks in the atmosphere. Food is very healthy and on the menu they display all the calories in every dish. The serve and wide variety of foods from pastries, breads, salads, sandwiches, soups, smoothies. Very healthy place except for the pastries of course. The atmosphere has little music playing in the background, and the tables and sitting feels much more homey than a regular restaurant. You eat off of plates and bowls with spoons and everything is very clean. Definitely a great establishment, one of my favorite places in the Richmond Centre. read more

Panera is a good place to eat if you're looking for something light. I always order off the you pick two menu. A 1/2 cafe salad or 1/2 cafe sandwich along with a cup of soup. If you order a drink, you can get a pastry for $0.99 and they're SO GOOD. The place is busy during lunch hour, but if you go during dinner, hardly anyone is there. You pretty much know what you're going to get with Panera's food. Better than fast food served at a fast food pace. The only thing that varies is the competency of the employees who fill the order. This place was blazingly quick to get the food out...but as is typical anymore with any fast food place, something was forgotten. Luckily it was only a fork to eat my salad with, and I was dining in. Most of the time it's one of the food items and I'm going through the drive-thru...so it doesn't get noticed until we get home. So it gets a 4 stars for the non-gourmet but still decent food, but 3 stars for the mediocre attention to detail and the fact that they were out of two different food items (apples and yoghurt) for my order. read more

I learned recently that Panera now provides delivery and thought I'd give it a try. I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad and the Bacon Gouda Turkey on a hoagie roll. The online ordering process was easy and their ap to give you notifications on the delivery were refreshing. The delivery guy was very friendly and he arrived at least 5 minutes earlier than expected. I did not know I was getting a cold (and I mean cold) sandwich--the bacon was even cold. We didn't finish either item and were left disappointed. I really expected better. I think the Arby's turkey sandwich is far superior, frankly, as far as fast food goes. Food was decent but the only complaint is the bathroom is for ONE person only, how ridiculous. Restaurants are supposed to have bathrooms multiple people can use, other Paneras do, but this particular Panera has just a private bathroom causing there to always be people lined up at the door, really annoying when you expect to be able to walk into a bathroom and use it. read more

Let me begin by saying that this is not my first bad experience at this Panera, but as someone who has worked in the food service industry, I understand sometimes the ball gets dropped and things go astray, I have given them several chances to change my opinion but after last night I will never give this location another chance. The disappointment started when they ran out of bread bowls before 6pm on a Tuesday so my mother and I ordered the fontega chicken panini and a small mac and cheese to share. Something we order often. Tonight after picking up my food, I noticed that the chicken was still super cold and the cheese barely melted. I asked the gentlemen who was working the prep line if he could just put it back on the press for a couple mins and his response was no but he could make me a new one. This new one came back colder, no melted cheese at all and it was sloppily put together. I went back to this gentlemen and told him that my sandwich was worse than the first one and that maybe the press was broke. He brushed me off. I told him I would be okay if we needed to order something else and he told me no and was already making me another sandwich. At this point when the 3rd sandwich came out...one would think to make sure this one was perfect. It was missing main ingredients like the basil and sauce. I gave up.Never once did he apologize, listen, or treat me other than a bother. I was never offered a refund, discount or even the free sweet offer that is printed on the top of the recipt if they get something wrong. I would also like to point put that they were not busy when making the first two sandwiches and that it was not because of backed up orders, this guy really could have cared less about making quality food or even acceptable customer service. I work in Lexington and frequent the Richmond rd Panera. I will make the extra drive before ever going back to my hometown Panera due it's lack of professional workers, food quality and overall fail of the customer experience. read more

For a takeout order of a Panini - I was shocked to get home and find a product that was totally burned.... the sandwich was black on the bottom and inedible. When I called the store.... Our service At Panera was phenomenal. We showed up minutes before close and all the employees were very kind and warming. It was so heart warming that we were treated with southern hospitality.
