As an ex employee for this company I have a good idea for how things should be prepared or look. I've been committed to getting the frozen caramel for almost 8 years. Treat my self to it very rarely. I know the menu has been under construction for quite a few years now. And getting rid of ingredients and chemicals that are not "healthy". Which ended the life of the chipotle chicken sandwich. (I've still never fully recovered from that.) But today I decided I'd do some self love and get a frozen caramel. So, apparently now it's a frozen caramel cold brew, cool. NOT. The flavor profile is so sad compared to the old Mediterranean blend they used as the base of this coffee drink. I have a sweet tooth and typically get 5 pumps of caramel. The standard is 3. But, little do people know, the pump for the caramel is actually the devil. It takes some serious body building power to get an entire pump! So I know to ask for more, but Panera is one of the few companies that will charge PER PUMP. Compared to competitors like Starbucks and Dunkin' who don't (shout out to them!) get as many as you like, same price! That being said if I don't feel it is as sweet as it should be I will ask for a remake. That happened today, got my drink (which they also have changed size standards from 20oz to 16oz) BOOOO!!! I asked for a remake because it tasted just like coffee and no caramel and addressed how I ordered it with five pumps (I did self checkout with the kiosk). I also asked about the size and she also said they only have a small (I still have some doubts about this though). Anyways, she remakes it and it tastes exactly the same. To end this, I sadly think they lost me as a customer with frozen caramels because of this cold brew nonsense. And all in all I'm overly disappointed in the direction Panera has been going :/ (AND THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE GLUTEN FREE BREAD YET? What is this! We're in 2020 people.) read more

If you're not okay with slow service, the inability to follow instructions, and are allergic to onions, don't eat here. My wife ordered the cream of chicken and wild rice soup at this location. It turned out this soup has onions, which she's allergic to. We asked Mary the manager about ingredients and she said that she had no access to ingredients on site. That we have to go online to access ingredients. This is absolutely ridiculous. Why not have an ingredients list on site so that the customer can make an informed decision? And never mind that my wife is allergic to onions. This manager while apologetic, was insistent on Panera's policy regarding ingredients access on site. Also, the order taker did note no onions on our sandwich order and the sandwiches came with onions anyway. The cooks remade the sandwiches 15 minutes later. The sandwich portions were ridiculously lower than other Panera's I've dined in. So my wife, while respectful and quiet, let Mary have a piece of her mind. Mary says "I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do," and runs away in tears. This is not a manager. This is a wimp who doesn't know how to talk to people. Unprofessional! This occurred at the Panera on Commerce Drive and Main Street in Riverhead NY, around 5:00pm on 12/30. We will contact corporate about this bullshit incident. What can I say....I've been a fan since they opened. Unfortunately, I have had to limit my visits so that I can zipper my pants! The best bread in the world! The tomato basil was my downfall, when I'd learned that I could actually buy it by the loaf and take it home. The sandwiches are delicious and very satisfying. Prices are reasonable for the quality and the taste. I just never understood why they'd offer you a "side" of bread when you order a sandwich....overkill. Late evening coffee and dessert is nice, also. Staff is friendly, store is extremely clean. Can't express how much I love Panera.......Now I'm craving it! read more

Been coming here for a couple years now always good food and friendly staff. I have to say the portions they give when you take out have gotten so much smaller (especially the salads) and still the same price if not more. If you're deciding between take out and staying there, defiantly stay there and get your moneys worth!! Other than that its a nice place and love the outdoor seating. read more

Its your lunch and cry if you want to...but I wont. Manager is nothing but accommodating. I bought a catering package and the wrong salad was placed in the bag. A mix up...a employee texting in the bathroom...couldn't hear me...whatever... Told the manager and immediately it was rectified, new salad...kept old salad...even received TWO free cookies. Dirty, stickey, floor, tables, flies all over the place and the girl behind the counter making sandwiches was wiping her nose on her sleeve. Food was not great, 2 slices of steak on bread, very little sauce 1 slice of lettuce and a slice of hard tomatoe. Don't waste your money. read more

Always Love Panera but so very disappointed and disgusted I hope its just this location. My daughter found a dead fly stuck on her lettuce and it was visible to the eye. Very disappointed in the food I got today. Chose to have a "steak and cheese panini" thinking it sounded yummy. Little did I know this sandwich comes with horseradish and onions in it too. Not a fan of horseradish & somehow they found a way to make the onions taste absolutely disgusting. Unfortunately my sister got the same exact thing as me & hated it too. The only reason I'm giving this place a 2 star rather than 1 star is because the "broccoli cheddar soup" is the only thing that remains to be yummy. WOW....on my way in I noticed the parking lot empty. A rarity for this location. Then it hit me price increases, a usual as they do this EVERY six months. Also another milestone! They again shrunk portion sizes! This time new smaller plates and dishes, and even thinner bread. I am going to have to say bye bye Panera Bread. Was very disappointed at Findlay, Oh. store this evening. Served both of us cold onion soup so told them but didn't seem to both them.

My smoothie came out terrible. This one employee just did not care and put whip cream on it when I didn't ask and filled it half way. I believe an my server who took my order , also told her what she was doing was wrong but she didn't care. Collin was very nice and knows what he is doing. But anyone with bad costumer service should be fired. It was very unpleasing I don't like to be dissatisfied by the one thing I get. Went there today with my husband and daughter. Always feel like you have to order quick. The girl behind counter looked like she was miserable. We got our order after waiting 20 minutes. I got a soggy Turkey, Apple and cheddar sandwich that was thrown together.My daughter got Mac and cheese she liked it but didn't like the hard as rock bread served with it. My husband got an Italian sandwich which had exactly one each of meat and cheese on what looked like a large hot dog roll. We ate even though it wasn't the tastiest. We left and no sooner we leave the parking lot our stomachs acted up. We get home and my husband was vomiting and I had water coming out of me. Dirty, nasty place. It once was a great place to go for good food and a fair price. It cost us 40.00 for two sandwich's and mac and cheese. So disappointed. Not WIFI capable. I did not come here for the food. $8 for an egg sammy on a "bagel" and a coffee is the same quality as Dunkin Donuts (shit). I came here for the WIFI. After several attempts at connecting, I was finally in and went to CNN to confirm a good connection, but it was VERY slow. I asked one of the workers and got "yeah, that happens alot". (mind you I was the ONLY person on WIFI, I looked around). I spoke to the manager on my way out (i needed WIFI) who was nice and acted like she had never heard of this issue before and yet she said she would call the internet provider "again". Stopped here on a drive into the city. Service wss quick, but food was terrible. We got two Mediterranean Veggie sandwiches. They were small with almost no filling. Basically tasted like someone made a sandwich with bread and the leftover toppings from a burger cookout. read more

Ordered a panini with chicken,lettuce, and tomato. Normal portion of bread,lettuce, and tomato, however there were 3 small pieces of chicken on the sandwich. I took it up to the serving counter and showed it to the sandwich preparer. Her response was "we weigh the chicken and that is the serving size". I'd say it was about 2 ounces. Very poor serving size. I would be embarrassed to serve that to anyone. Picture of the food is by no means an accurate and as I said to the manager "if you put a picture of the sandwich you actually serve on the poster you won't be selling those for long". read more
