    Seafood pasta with spaghetti.
    Rose A.

5/4/22 Just back from Florida, we needed to bring in a few things from the local market and have dinner. We chose to go to the Mattituck market and Michaelangelo pizzeria next door. We enjoyed a wonderful meal that included a seafood pasta that hubby enjoyed very much. It included a variety of seafood including mussels clams, shrimp and a lobster tail! One of the specials that were offered this evening was a pork chop Milanese with a wonderful salad on top. The pork was juicy, tender and flavorful We both enjoyed our dinner and settled back into life on the east end. It was great seeing Brenda and our server Alicia could not have been more attentive.

    The extra bread in question

It was my second time there the first time I was like wow it's pretty good pizza left happy went in again and there was a line we didn't have problem waiting we waited ordered food three slices 1x penne pasta to go with EXTRA BREAD and 1 drink then, we wanted a refill we had to wait in line again fine, wasn't bothered. We finished our slices and then they called us for our penne pasta and when we look we asked for extra bread she looked at the bread cut it into 3 pieces and said it was the extra and I was baffled it was. 10" pasta plate with three tiny pieces of bread and I also asked for extra there was no extra I'm like the bread will be eaten in three bites it's only good for fast food but it were to order to go I don't recommend they'll just overcharge you and give you less then expected. I was disappointed because I thought I found a good place for once boy was I wrong. They charged me for extra bread when all they did was cut the bread that normally comes with.

Not bad, got a chicken parm hero. It's a regular style pizzeria/restaurant for out east, nice pieces of chicken, fresh bread, over all it was pretty good. The pizza here is just OK but there isn't a whole lot to report. Have a Happy New Year!

Our server came over and told us that two of the items on the chalkboard - including one we had planned to order - had been sold out already. This was at 6 pm on a weekend night. So we went back to looking at the menu. Within seconds, our server showed up again - the steak had been 86ed. We went back to looking at the menu. Our server returned to our table a couple of minutes later and told us how he liked to rank the restaurant's dishes, then telling us about his top three in minute detail. We were pretty sure what we wanted at this point. But our server came back one more time to tell us that the salad from the specials menu - again, a dish we planned to order - was gone. At this point I began to wonder if we would be allowed to pick our own food for the meal. Anyway, we settled on another dish and beckoned our server over for his fourth (and first invited) visit to our table. We ordered. The food came in a reasonable amount of time. The pasta and pizza were good, the salad dressed with something a bit too acidic. We ate, paid, and left, still somewhat in disbelief. Maybe if this place had fewer items on the menu, they'd be able to stock more ingredients for each one. As things stand, it's a rather frustrating venue (albeit one with a clearly devoted following). P.S. The noise level in the restaurant is high - we were practically shouting to hear each other at various points during our dinner.

We ordered 3 chicken parms an eggplant parm and a pasta primavera. The pasta primavera was supposed to be cooked with sautéed garlic and olive oil. There was no garlic and no olive oil in the dish and the vegetables were RAW. One meal came out 10 minutes after everyone else's but it would have been better if none of them came out at all. The chicken parm was disgusting and SWIMMING in what tasted like jarred pizza sauce with slices of mozzarella cheese slapped on top. The eggplant parm was thick slices of breaded eggplant again swimming in a horrible, poor excuse for a red sauce. Absolutely inedible. When we told the waitress that we were unhappy with the meal she said she would speak to the chef. She came back to report that nothing could be done to compensate us. I then asked to speak to the manager. She came out guns a-blazing and insisted that everything was perfect. We explained we didn't need to be comped we just wanted to give some helpful feedback. She was abrasive and defensive claiming everything was great. Nothing was comped, or offered to help the situation. This is a disgraceful place and the most horrible dining experience we have ever had on the North Fork. And to the owner "customer service" is what drives a business. I work for the Food Network and this is a no go in my book! Don't eat here!

The best, and most important thing to me is that Mike's spirit is everywhere, especially in the Kitchen!! I did the full tasting menu and it was every bit as good as I remembered from trying this amazing food experience back when Mike Maroni was in the kitchen in Northport. The Rock and Roll music is also still playing the dining room, just as Mike insisted on. The staff is friendly and attentive. My wife and I were seated at a two top, adjacent to a large family party. Our waitress was aware enough to pick up on the noise level coming from that group and offered to relocate us to a table further away from the noise. *the people seemed to be very nice. Its just that there were about 12 people having a really good time. That can get loud in such a cozy place. Maroni's provides a wonderful dining experience with outstanding price to value ratio, with tips included in the menu prices and a wine list with all bottles at $75. Highly recommend trying this place. Also high recommend booking in advance as it is usually booked full.

Then we had the spareribs with gummies, greenbeans, gagootz, meatballs, and oysters. The oysters were just ok, but it hasn't been the best season for local oysters. Everything else was great. The gagootz is our favorite! We were too full this time for dessert. We'll be back again soon. Thanks all!!

Did I think I was getting just another American-German influenced restaurant with only brats and potato pancakes? Did I expect polka? The experience was actually slow and refined, without the white tablecloths. Alpina has German, Swiss, and slightly Northern Italian influenced cuisine, along with a selection of alcohols I was completely unfamiliar with... which made the experience feel full of new things. The most memorable food was actually one of the simplest. The chef prepared incredibly creamy, caramelized onions with a slight sauerkraut tang that was amazeballs. I told our waiter that I'd write him a love letter over it, and here I am! The pappardelle had shredded duck, cheese, and big, fun, chewy noodles that were satisfying to slurp. It just needed a dash of pepper to elevate it. The meat and cheese board included a few things I'd never tried before, and it was so good I was searching for a meat shop in Manhattan so we could buy them again. Portion sizes aren't huge for the price, but it was worth it to us. Don't be afraid of the dark entrance, the ligonberry on the menu, and ask the bartender about the connection between the giant copper gnome and penguin shaker gone rouge.

I was surprised that they were served in tinfoil clam shells.... But that didn't stop me from enjoying them. We also ordered the spinach salad which was a nice place of fresh greens with a warm bacon dressing and mushrooms. For dinner, I ordered the seafood pasta (Frutti di Mar) which was delicious however in being honest, it could've used more pasta. Basically I got 4 fork twirls . A little more pasta would've been very impressive. The calamari, shrimps mussels and clams were delicious as well.
