My husband and I stopped into Panera Bread last night for dinner - our daughter was sick and wanted soup. This location is in Natomas near BJ's and Panda Express. The inside was clean with plenty of seating. My husband and I ordered at the kiosk so I can't really comment on the service other than the lady who called out our name when the order was ready - she was very friendly. We ordered the Ciabatta Cheesesteak, Kids Turkey and Cheese and a bowl of Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup. Everything came out hot, fresh and traveled well to our home. Overall, I like Panera, it is not my first sandwich place choice, but I am always amazed how they can make an oven-roasted turkey breast and American cheese on thick-sliced white bread with NO CONDIMENTS taste so good. They also have new iced coffees like Hazelnut Mocha, Snickerdoodle, Pumpkin Spice and Rocky Road! My daughter loves their soups too so I'm sure we'll be back soon! read more

Not sure if this is the new Panera model, or a one off. If it's the new model, please reconsider. Nearly all of the registers had self-service kiosks. None of the three employees working up front took any interest in customers at the kiosks in favor of their conversation. In the time I was there, I saw an older couple trying to navigate the kiosk alone. They were still doing so from the time I arrived to the short time after I ordered and left. Kiosks still ask for a gratuity though the only human interaction may be when you pick up your food at the counter. Panera, please keep a semblance of customer service, leaning towards a cafe instead of a McDonalds. read more

I like going to coffee shops to relax and get work done, but most of them only have pastries with coffee and tea, and I sometimes get hungry while working or reading and prefer coming to Panera Bread where they serve more food than just pastries and drinks. This Panera is pretty close to some of my frequented stores and near my friends' neighborhood, so I like to come here, hang out and grab a bite. This Panera is at The Promenade shopping plaza on North Freeway Blvd, it's been here since the 2000s and it's still going strong, I guess bc there's a ton of shops in this plaza and people get hungry and thirsty after shopping. There's a Panda Express right next door too. This Panera is right by the Old Navy and Target, and share the same parking lot, but it's closer to the main street, so it's easier to get to. Sometimes I feel like some iced tea or juice instead of hot tea or coffee and Panera's drinks fountain has a good variety. I really like their "Unlimited Sip" deal, but I have been trying to cut down on sweet drinks, so I prefer to get a drink ala carte. I like their chocolate croissant, but it shrunk a bit recently, it's the not same anymore. Apparently in 2023, Panera replaced their traditional, crescent-shaped chocolate croissant with a more rectangular, "Danish-style" one that looks like a "Hot Pocket", so it shrunk and the price probably stayed the same. Hmm. But I read that Panera Bread was caught using "shrinkflation" which is when eateries use cheaper ingredients and smaller portions for their foods, but still charge the same price or even higher and usually the customers (you and I) are the only ones that lose out. But apparently enough of us customers pushed back and stopped going to Panera and so they noticed sales went down so drastically, that they hired back a lot of staff they had laid off, especially bread makers and also made their breads, pastries, and soups & sandwiches bigger portions again. Anyhow, I like their "You Pick Two" menu, since I try to be more low carb, so a 1/2 sandwich is good, and a 1/2 salad is healthy for me, and a side helps me actually get full. I find their sandwiches are good pretty big, but the bread does sometimes overwhelm. Their salads are solid and if I'm still not full, I get myself a cookie and that usually hits the spot. All in all, I'm still a fan of Panera for a nice place to work and have a meal. This location is busy, but generally well-kept and quiet enough to get some productivity in and reward myself with a pastry. read more

Love this location! Been going for over a decade. They went through a rough patch with a new manager a few years ago around the pandemic, but are back on track. The new manager is A++ (and so was the original one). Everyone is so incredibly friendly every single time! If there is a mess up they make it fully right. Their coffee is always really good. When we end up at the other location near by (Del Paso) the coffee is straight to the trash sometimes, so stick to this location if at all possible. I hope they keep it up! read more

I waited patiently in line just to ask and purchase a bread loaf. I asked firstly before waiting so I wouldn't wait for nothing. I was told there were Baguettes available. After waiting in line for about 15mins, I just got up to the cashier to order the Baguette; just to find out they're out now. The cashier apologized but had just told me alil bit ago that there were Baguette available. It would've been great if I was told in line when they found out they were out, instead of having me wait in line for no bread. I wasnt offered any other bread in substitution for the Baguettes. Love me some Panera! It's always a solid choice for lunch. I always get their lunch half and half special so I usually get half a sandwich and soup (broccoli and cheddar is my absolute favorite) with chips. The Greek goddess salad is my all time favorite though. Everyone knows panera has the best chocolate chip cookies! So you have to try one if you decide to eat here haha. I like this location because there are self serve kiosks and they are pretty fast with service in general. Lots of seats and tables especially if you like to eat and study. The plaza is a good plaza for shopping and coffee as well! read more

Panera doesn't offer the best value but they do put out quality food in a timely manner. My old stand by the Fuji Apple Chicken Salad is now $12.99 not bad but the size is about 1/3 smaller than pre covid. The coffee drinks are overly sweet but nobody can beat their cinnamon toast crunch bagel lol. Overall Panera is fine but there are better places if you're not in a hurry. read more

I've been to enough "Panera Bread" locations to justify their sandwiches, soups, and salads. And considering they have been "good" but not "great" tells me they have been middle of the totem pole when it comes to their food, quality, and service. They are high above fast food but definitely not gourmet dining by any means. The location I am reviewing is their North Natomas restaurant. Located at The Promenade at Sacramento Gateway outdoor shopping center, this particular Panera Bread has been in business dating back to the mid-2000's. Since then, a ton of businesses have opened in the surrounding areas as it is a very high volume retail and restaurant hub for patrons residing in the North Natomas neighborhood of Sacramento. The easiest way to find this Panera is that it shares the same parking lot as anchor stores Target, Barnes & Noble, and Old Navy. During my visit which was the afternoon of Sunday 5/8/2022, there was ample parking and very little customers since I arrived around 3:15pm. Since I was fairly hungry, I ended up ordering the "You Pick Two". This consisted of 1/2 sandwich, 1/2 salad, and a side. I went with their "Smokehouse BBQ Chicken" sandwich, a "Strawberry Poppyseed" salad, and an apple as my side of choice. As many people know, the inside of Panera Bread is cozy, inviting, and spacious. This location has a fireplace, fast Wi-Fi, a wide selection of teas, a self-serve fountain drink station, and lots of seating including booths and tables. After ordering, you are given a buzzer when your food is ready. My entire combo lunch only took about 6 minutes from the time I ordered until I got my food. Overall, my sandwich was delicious but they put more BBQ sauce, onions, and cheese than actual chicken inside. No biggie but it was still quite good. I definitely loved the salad as they gave me a very sizable amount. Fresh strawberries, mandarin oranges, blueberries, and toasted pecans really made this salad sweet, crunchy, and savory. Again, having gone here enough lets you know what to expect. I haven't had a bad meal in my 3 dozen visits at their various locations. Their bread is a winner here as I love the freshness and quality. Prices are on the higher end of the spectrum as many delis charge less for more food. Of course with the rapid increase in food prices (as of 2022), this is something we are expecting much more, especially at chain restaurants. With that said and done, I am giving the Natomas "Panera Bread" a respectable four-star rating. read more

Overall this is my favorite Panera spot yet, workers are friendly, cafe is clean, and the food is normal for Panera. I ordered the Vanilla Iced Latte with half grill cheese and tomato cup. The soup taste good however I felt that my grill cheese should of been a little more crispy than soft. Besides the texture everything was good. I spent a few hours studying hear, and I love how the workers check in and make sure I was doing well. Yesterday my boyfriend and I stopped in for a quick breakfast before a day trip and I was pleasantly surprised! The staff were both friendly and helpful and everything came out amazing! I ordered the Mediterranean Egg White Wrap, this wrap has some fancy ingredients, I was impressed as I bit down! It's made with delicious egg whites, basil-white bean puree, amazingly flavorful crumbled feta cheese, a nice smoky tomato confit and spinach on a Whole Grain wrap, it's honestly the best wrap I have ever had! To drink I ordered the Unsweetened Plum Ginger Hibiscus Tea, which was both light and refreshing! I would highly recommend this location for a healthy quick breakfast option if you're on the go or you can also order in and sit in their nice seating area like we did! Absolutely the worst! Granted it was the day after Christmas but we were working and had a short half hour lunch. 45 minutes into this s#itshow and we still didnt have food. The Flatbread pizza was ridiculously bad....honestly, Little Caesar's pizza is better if that's even possible. Add in a really mediocre side of mac and cheese (co-worker and I were sharing) and the bill came to like $24! Other co-worker did his own thing and just got a refund with no food. I asked for a refund with food because you are just going to waste it and dayamn took almost an hour for a flatbread pizza and mac? They said they refunded my money but didn't.
