Thai time Owner and Recipe Wizard Thammasorn Lau has created something that feels less like a restaurant and more like being welcomed into someone's home -- assuming that someone's home happens to have amazing Thai chefs, incredible spices, and food that makes you immediately start planning your next visit before you're even done eating. We did our best "research project" and ordered everything our table could justify: Thai iced coffee, coconut canopy salad, pad see ew and pad Thai with pork belly, sunset curry with tilapia, and mango sticky rice with ice cream. For science, obviously. Thai Time should put a warning label on their Thai iced coffee. One sip through each layer and the conversation stopped. We woke up. The taste buds clocked in for work. The brain sent out the announcement: "Cancel all distractions -- apparently dinner has plans for us." Good thing we listened. Thammasorn then proceeded to take us on a full Thai flavor adventure. This wasn't just dinner. This was a carefully organized attack on our ability to say, "No thanks, I'm full." The coconut canopy salad started fresh and bright, the noodles brought the comfort, the pork belly brought the celebration, the sunset curry with tilapia brought the "wait, everyone try this" moment. And the mango sticky rice with ice cream showed up at the end like a victory parade. I always read the bad reviews because I'm fascinated by the rare human ability to find sadness while surrounded by curry, noodles, and people being nice to you. They are to be safely ignored. Some of the best Thai food I've had! Such a good spot for Thai food! The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and has a good amount of seating, for any size group or solo Very nice inside with a bar if that's something you're looking for. Everything was so fresh and delicious and had the perfect amount of spice. I wish this spot all the success and more. From welcome to goodbye, service and experience is wonderful. I was surprised I hadn't left a review yet with the number of times I've gone and brought friends or came solo. This location is great for a quick lunch or dinner and gathering with friends/fam/colleagues. Nice date night option too with the lighting and ambiance. There are TVs if you need that extra stimulation. The food is so deliciously prepared. I've had many dishes, most recently, the chicken satay, dong dong noodles, and tofu spring rolls. Everything is so fresh too! Spice levels are true to definition. The owner runs a great friendly-like-family operation. I never even knew about this place, my co-worker took myself and a friend and he loved it also! The chicken Thai basil came out hot and fresh, veggies were crunchy and delicious, chicken was tender, flavor was slightly sweet and savory. But my favorite - the mango sticky rice with that deliciously sweet coconut ice cream. Blew me away! Loved the sticky rice texture, the sweet fresh mango. It was all just delicious! Absolute yum! Recommended by a coworker, I promptly brought my mom in for a nice workday lunch when I was stationed Downtown. We were greeted, seated, and given water right away. Place was packed with (I'm assuming) state workers. Nice interior and clean bathrooms. Mom and I both ordered the yellow curry (our fave); she opted for the standard mild with white rice, I bumped it up a bit to medium with brown rice. Food was quick (without being suspiciously fast) and really tasty. Medium had a nice kick and the brown rice was in a perfect little cone. I had a lovely lunch with my partners close to 2pm. There were only a few people in the restaurant so it wasn't busy. We had a wonderful service with attentive staff. Everything seemed so clean and there were a lot of options on the menu. I wanted to try everything! We decided to get garlic fries, crispy tamarind tofu and potstickers as starters. Solid fare Tucked away in downtown Sacramento is this tasty spot for Thai food. We were able to get seated without a reservation, but this place filled up quickly during dinner time. On this visit, I dined in. I love the fried Thai Roti with the curry dipping sauce. Unfortunately, I am quite disappointed with the ginger fried chicken. The chicken is very dry and not tender like it was from my previous visit. I was hoping the batter would still be crispy instead of soggy as I am dinning in. Thai Time has become one of my favorite spots for Thai food. Whenever I have meetings in the area I like to stop in for takeout. They have an easy online ordering system and I like looking at their special menu items. My favorites are the Tom Kha soup (medium spicy) and their curries. I've been trying to work my way through the menu and everything is delicious. I definitely recommend trying a variety of items, because each time I try something new I feel like I have a new favorite. The owner is very nice as well, she remembers me each time I come in and we always have some nice small talk as I pick up my order. I haven't dined in, but the restaurant is beautiful and has bar seating as well as tables. It's a modern and welcoming vibe and there's plenty of seating for dates, families and groups. They have street parking and there's a 15 minute spot that I typically use when I'm stopping in to pick up food. If you haven't visited yet it's worth a stop. I would've been better off just ordering the regular which comes with chicken at no additional cost because I couldn't tell the difference between pork or chicken. The sweet-and-sour sauce missed. Very heavy on the ketchup or tomato sauce that they use. The portion also is not adequate. For 20+ dollars at lunch, there's just gotta be more on the plate. Came to Thai Time on Sunday just after they opened at noon and had a great experience, delicious food, and top-notch service! Parked on 10th street and walked a block and a half to the restaurant. Right when we walked inside, the restaurant smelled clean and fresh with a hint of delicious food in the air. The ambiance was really calm, clean, and relaxing. We were quickly greeted and seated at one of the window seats and there was just one other table occupied thus far. We ordered their Thai Iced Tea and Iced Coffee to drink and both were fresh and tasted of high quality. Very refreshing and tasty! To eat, we ordered their Drunken Noodle (with vegetables), Thai Fried Rice (with chicken), Mango Shrimp (substituted with chicken), and steamed vegetables. We got everything medium spicy and everything was very mild except the fried rice was extra spicy! Everything came out hot and tasted fresh and amazing! For dessert I couldn't pass up the Mango Sticky Rice with Ice Cream. It was absolutely incredible and am so glad I got it! The dessert was creamy and not too sweet. Quality of the food, fair prices, ambience, warmth of the staff, and the place is sparkling clean. You know when a restaurant pays attention to detail and the little things- it is worth a visit. I love Thai food, first time trying this place. Food is delicious. The curry friends were a recomendación from the waitress, there were different and delicious. The portions are good and the quality of food is good as well. The only inconvenience was that they took too long to serve the food. I mean when I say too long I mean more than 30 minutes. We ordered the fries as appetizers and we got them like 25 minutes later. We were patients because we believe everything was just fresh made but honestly the wait was too long. Another inconvenience is that the place is considerable big and they have only one bathroom for all customers. So if you even want to watch Tori hands you have to wait a lot. Liked the peanut sauce though. For the main, ordered the Tilapia Pad Cha with brown rice. Tilapia pieces were fried and comes with veggies onion, bell pepper, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, green beans, and carrots and a slightly sweet basil peppery sauce. We just enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Thai Time. We arrived around 5:30 on a chilly Friday night. We were welcomed in and seated promptly. We had the delicious curry puffs to start. My wife had the ginger fried chicken and I had the coconut lamb curry. We added a side of brown rice and two green tea lemon bombs. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. Our server advised that dishes are prepared at a mild spice level. I asked that the lamb curry be medium spicy and it was perfect for me. We thought about desert, but our meals were large enough that more wasn't needed. Our server was very helpful and friendly. The rice was moist and nutty, and so much better than I expected of brown rice. Everything on the menu sounded so good and if you know me and Thai places I need to try the noodles. I tired the chicken satay and the peanut sauce that's paired with it was creamy and so good! Every time we've eaten here, it's always been good. It's one of the few places--that I know of--which has Thai spaghetti. It's Angel hair noodles with white chicken, thinly sliced carrots, diced tomatoes, and there's a choice if you want the sauce to be spicy. I stumbled upon my new favorite Thai restaurant, Thai Time, driving down 10th Street toward downtown Sac. I learned this is a place that top Sacramento chefs frequent! The owner Thomasan (sp?) is the sweetest, and food is the best Thai food I've ever eaten -- fresh and fried spring rolls, wonton soup, Tom Kha soup, Pad Thai with shrimp, drunken noodle, eggplant/vegetables and the special "Sunset Curry" with chicken. Lots of choices for different diets. Hats off to the chef! I'd eat here every day if I could, and the prices are reasonable for the exceptional quality.
