My friend and I stopped in for dinner around 7pm on a weeknight. It wasn't busy at all, so we were seated immediately and had a relaxed, unhurried meal from start to finish. We started with the crispy pork belly, which was a great call. The pork had a nice crunch without being overdone, and the dipping sauce struck a good balance between sweet and tangy. For mains, I had the boat noodle and my friend ordered the chicken pad thai. The broth on the boat noodle was the highlight for me, really well-developed flavor, the kind you don't rush through. The pad thai was perfectly sauced, which made it feel hearty and satisfying rather than dry like you sometimes get elsewhere. Prices are reasonable and the menu has a lot of ground to cover. The chef specials caught my eye and I'm looking forward to working through those on the next visit!
I crave Pipo Ramen and Rice all the time, they're a bit out of the way for me but when I'm going to be in the general area I'll go out of my way to stop by. I've enjoyed dine in and take out options from them, and while dining in will give you the freshest flavor and best presentation, they do such a good job packaging the food for takeout so nothing spills and everything tastes good with takeout too. The family that runs the restaurant is very friendly and I'm always greeted when I arrive. Pipo is a great option if you're not craving anything Vietnamese while in little Saigon. Threy've been open for a few years now, and ive noticed how consistent they've always been. Their pad Thai is my favorite , but their boat noodle is also really good. I really like their drink options and how the owner, Bom is always so eager to let people sample them. The shop is named after his youngest son, and you might run into him running around the restaurant, Overall, I highly recommend Pipo if you're craving Thai food!
I visited Pipo Ramen and overall I had a okay experience. The service was fast. The chicken karaage was okay, I wish theres more serving. The boat noddle was good, it satisfied my cravings. And the staff were friendly, but I told them no bean sprouts since I'm pregnant, but they still gave me bean sprouts. What stood out most was the chilli oil! It's really spicy so be careful.
The star dish here is the soft shell crab w curry ramen. One might know the taste of the broth and find it hard to place: Being Thai we immediately recognized the curry broth as it is actually a really good Khao Soi broth (from the Chiang Mai region) that usually is served with chicken and a crispy noodle. This version is excellent and my mom who HATES ramen, loved it. The duck was dry as it assume it's air fried, and the fried rice was fairly average with little taste. I am still giving the restaurant a five star due to the soft shell crab dish!! Must try.
The fiance and I wanted to try something new. We chose this place. Don't let the outside appearance deter you. It's in the ghetto, but the delicious is IN the ghetto. We came here on a Monday and it was a slow night. But let me tell you that the Crispy Basil Pork Belly with Jasmine Rice and the Tonkatsu Ramen were delicious. Plus, this place has a variety of food between Japanese and Thai.
Came in on a super rainy day, service was quick and the server was friendly. We ordered the pad Thai and boat noodle, both came hot quick, hot and fresh. The pad thai was super yummy, big portions and super flavorful, the boat noodle was good but I've had better.
Finally got to try this place! Has a mix of Thai food and various types of ramen. Ordered green curry and the tonkotsu ramen. Okay portion sizes, never really seen an individualized bowl of green curry before. But curry and tonkotsu were tasty. Has a decent sized menu with a bunch of items. Probably not due to the options for me is decent but the food tastes bland or too much. Some people may enjoy it so don't let my reviews shoo you away. So glad we gave this place a try! It's definitely a hidden gem. They have authentic Lao/Thai food. We ordered the Boat Noodles which was so yummy, I didn't expect to like it! I do wish it came with a little more protein but other than that, the flavor was delish. We also got the Pipo (Papaya) Salad Lao Style, level 4. The flavor was on point! When it came out we already knew it was going to be good because of how dark it was.. if it ain't dark and stinky, I don't want it. An extra plus because they added shrimp in it! The Thai Crab fried rice was plentiful of crab and we definitely enjoyed it. We came home with left overs, it was a really big portion which is pretty worth it for the price you're paying. We will definitely be coming back!
The ramen broth is a light fresh fragrant Tonkotsu broth. It's really good the pork is yummy and has a nice grilled flavor. The egg! Oh the soy egg is absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly this was my favorite part. I really enjoy the crispy fried pork belly as well so yummy. I highly recommend this restaurant. I have visited this place quite a bit but haven't for the last year then decided to stop in. I noticed the staff changed and down restaurant stuff changed. Came here for dinner around 6pm, there were two tables already occupied. They've never been super busy packed really when I visited. Food: This time I tried their beef noodle, kids ramen, fried potstickers. Beef noodle: This had really good flavoring. I wanted a clear broth, or else I would have gotten the boat noodle (but next time). The noodles weren't cooked too much and the meat wasn't dry. The portion looked a lot because of the bowl size but it's perfect. I added dry chili flakes and their Thai pepper with fish sauce but they weren't super spicy, which is what I wanted. Maybe change of staff so some recipes changed? I remember their Thai pepper with fish sauce was super spicy. Kids ramen: Huge portion! It was like a small order of ramen instead. My daughter could only eat 30% of the order but she said it was good! Fried potstickers: Average - the inside filling is okay. Sauce is a sweet dark sauce - okay taste. Oh usually they serve fruit chewy candy at the front register and that was something my daughter and I was looking forward to. So they switched out the candy with different brand green candy - another sign ownership changed? Anyways, I would recommend trying them out for their Thai food. We usually will get their Thai special menu food - crispy pork belly with rice, but next time again.
This is one my favorite place to get boat noodle in Sacramento. Service is okay, I wasn't check on at all besides my food being brought to me. The portion seems to have gotten smaller but the price increased. They can make it spicy but it is Thai spicy so mild-medium can be very spicy. This one is drenched in a sweet sauce which I know most people will like; however, I am just not a big fan of sweet pork. My friend love it though. Basil Ground/minced chicken: We enjoyed this dish. However, the same thing for me, it was a bit sweet for my taste. Gyoza: it was pretty good Service: the male server, was welcoming making our visit a better one. Pipo Ramen and Rice I've been wanting to try Pipo Ramen and Rice since 2023, when it was ranked #11 on Yelp's list of places to eat in the Sacramento area. I've driven past this spot countless times but somehow never made it in, until now! I stopped by on a Saturday before noon, and the restaurant was pretty quiet, with only a few tables occupied. The interior is modern, clean, and well kept, making it a nice spot for a casual meal. After looking over the menu, we decided on the Pad Thai with Shrimp (medium heat) and Panang Curry with Chicken (medium heat). While ordering, our server also recommended the Pipo Salad, essentially their take on papaya salad. They offer it Lao or Thai style, and we went with the Thai style with mild heat. Once the food came out, the first thing I noticed was the portion sizes, everything was much bigger than I expected, especially considering the reasonable prices. These are definitely portions that are easy to share family-style. The Pipo Salad had tons of flavor, and I really enjoyed being able to taste the vinegar and fish sauce. One thing to note, though: I ordered it mild, but this ended up being the spiciest dish on the table! I'd say the heat was closer to a medium, while the Pad Thai and curry were much milder. The Pad Thai was solid. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the flavor was there. The Panang Curry was good, although I personally wished both the Pad Thai and curry had a little more heat. Luckily, our server brought out some condiments, including Thai pepper fish sauce, which was excellent with the curry and gave it the extra kick I was looking for. Overall, I'd definitely recommend giving Pipo Ramen and Rice a try. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and there's a good variety of dishes I'm looking forward to exploring on my next visit. My only real complaint is that the spice levels seem a little inconsistent. I wanted my Pad Thai and curry to be spicier, but at the same time, I didn't want my mouth completely on fire. Pipo is always a solid place for ramen. Unique ramen with a Thai twist. I like spicy ramen and the tom yum is a perfect bowl. You can ask for certain levels of spiciness so it works for different tastes. There's usually only one or two servers and can take a bit of time but we've gotten used to it because they are nice and helpful. The seafood tom yum ramen is a good mix of everything. Sprouts are already added so it's cooked and incorporated. Scallops, shrimp and mushrooms are part of the mix. The broth is well flavored and spiced to my preference. The shrimp rolls are crispy and fried perfectly every time. I can eat a ton of these. The chicken kaarage is one of my nephews favorite things to order at any ramen place and he enjoyed it. read more

I give 5 stars for the flavor of Thai Boat noodles, Pork leg stew, Basil crispy pork belly, Fish cake and Crying Tiger (grilled steak Thai style) The service was good (George) was outstanding It's recommended to try, Yes we will go back to try other dishes. read more
Went there on a dinner date with my oldest twin daughter, who loves Ramen like me. I've wanted to try this place for a long while, so I took the opportunity. Needless to say, it was worth it! My stunt double ordered Shoyu Ramen, while I ordered the Pipo Tom Yum Ramen. Both bowls were FANTASTIC!! The broth for bowls were so good, we ordered extra noodles to enjoy them longer. The ingredients for both bowls were quite tasty and cooked perfectly! The service and the time it took for our bowls to arrive after ordering was amazingly fast! We will definitely return to enjoy more of their fantastic Ramen!! read more

For the first time, Yelp let me down with this restaurant. It's been on my list to try for so long, and I finally had the chance to on a random Monday night. It was an empty restaurant, and the service was terrible. Our waiter never came back to refill our water, he got our order wrong and left out a dish, and he split our check incorrectly. We also didn't enjoy our food. My panang curry had a handful of beef slices, and the rest was carrots. For $17 I expected more. The tonkatsu ramen had a very strong peanut flavor, and it just was not good. We couldn't even eat half of it. The only thing we enjoyed was the pork belly but it came out of the kitchen cold (remember, we were the only table dining in). There are so many other better Thai spots, this place was not it. read more
Great ramen find in the area! We arrived and the place was empty with only one other couple there so service was quick and easy. Spring rolls- always a great shareable appetizer and was piping hot and crispy! Soft shell curry ramen- probably one of the most unique and delicious ramens I've had in the sac area! It was perfectly spicy and they are definitely not stingy with the crab! Amazing curry flavor even if you're not a curry fan, give this a try! We have visited this restaurant twice, and the experience has been great both times. On our recent visit, we ordered chicken fried rice, pad thai, and duck fried rice. We enjoyed the fried rice; it was delicious, although a bit oily. The pad Thai noodles were a little chewy to us, but the taste was good. My friend and I came here for a late lunch. It was around 1:45pm and they were not busy. We waited at the front for someone to notice us. There were 2 staff. They saw us but didn't greet or said anything. After 5 minutes, they finally seated us. While looking at their menu, I decided on beef pad see ew. Food came out pretty fast. I felt the portion was very small. I was barely content. Taste wise was fine but also a bit salty. Nothing to rave about. Service was lacking. They were not attentive. read more

This place has been on my bookmark list since they opened, and I finally got a chance to check them out for lunch today. Let me tell you......it was so worth the wait! With the weather being a little chilly today, I ordered the boat noodle soup, the crispy chicken fried rice, and of course, the Thai tea. I mean, you have to get Thai tea at a Thai restaurant, it's a must! The space itself is open, inviting, and the decor is cute, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. As soon as my soup arrived, it smelled amazing! I ordered it at level 2 spiciness (on a scale of 1-5, with 5 being HOT), and that first slurp of noodles and broth was everything I hoped for, it was rich, flavorful, and truly hit the spot. Boat noodle soup can vary so much between places, but I can confidently say Pipo has mastered this dish. I've tried it at other Thai restaurants in the Sacramento area, and hands down, this is the spot for boat noodle soup! It was perfect. I didn't have to ask for a single thing. The Thai chili in fish sauce was brought out at the same time! The crispy chicken was exactly as described, very crispy and delicious. It came with two sauces: one sweet and creamy, and the other a light version of sweet chili sauce. Both sauces complimented the chicken. As for the fried rice, it was perfectly cooked and so tasty. Every bite was delicious. To top it off, the owner asked how our food was, and we happily shared how much we enjoyed our lunch. By the end of our meal, I was in a food coma, that's how satisfying it was. Pipo Ramen & Rice has officially become my new favorite Thai spot in Sacramento, and I can't recommend them enough. This place has the best (and most authentic) Boat Noodle Soup in Sacramento Valley. I have tried too many to count and this is THE best. The appetizers were great as well. Service was very good and staff very friendly. Will be coming back for sure . read more
I decided to try out Pipo with my friend for a long over due catch up/hangout sesh this week. I've never been in the area before so I was a little confused when I pulled into the parking lot where it was actually located. The area seems a little sketchy but there's plenty of parking and as I was able to get a spot right in the front. The inside is clean, nice, and cutely decorated! I love the bathtub seat when you first walk in. Our server was friendly and attentive and our food came out in a timely manner. I was so happy that my ramen was good because it is really hard to find a place sometimes that has good vegetarian broth. The bowls are HUGE here and you definitely get your moneys worth. I will say though I wish they had smaller bowl options to pick from! All in all, it was a great place with good food and vibes. I will definitely come back again! read more
Good Thai food. The sign says they open at 11:30 so we were expecting people to be there setting up when we showed up at 11:25 but the restaurant was dark and no sign of life. Until we saw the owner show up right at 11:30 in a Tesla with another worker and they had to unload all the groceries they bought lol. So we got in and sat and waited a little bit til they got situated enough to get our orders going. But service is good and food is good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a pretty big restaurant as well with lots of seatings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Boat noodle was yummy and the soft shell crab pad Thai was different but good, a little on the sweet side. Thursday, 6/19/2025 - went to have lunch at Pipo Ramen & Rice. Address is 6511 Savings Pl Suit 140 & 145, Sacramento, CA 95828. It's right across from Firehouse Crawfish restaurant. Love that there's plenty of parking here. I ate here before so wanted to try some different dish. Upon arrival.... Pros 1) restaurant was quiet. 2) we just picked any table to sit. No hostess to seat you. 3) they provide a jar of water for the table. Water tasted good. No funky or metal or weird taste. 4) I saw two men working in there. 5) Pipo Tom Yum Seafood noodle is still as good as ever. Soft shell crab pad Thai noodle dish was good, but on the very sweet side. Roti curry was ok. 6) server quiet, but nice. 7) bathroom clean. Cons 1) I did NOT order the Pad Thai noodle dish. I actually ordered the Soft Shell Crab Curry Noodle dish. I did not get that. They offered to take the pad Thai dish back, but we were starving, so ate it. Too hungry to wait another 15 to 20 minutes. 2) I asked for the mushroom on the side for the Tom Yum Noodle Soup dish. They NEVER brought the mushroom on the side for me. My little one doesn't like mushrooms, so I wanted it on the side to eat it after she eats her fill. We always share food. 3) Roti Curry should be thicker so I can dip the bread. The curry was very watery. I guess I'm used to the thick curry at Indian restaurants where you can actually use the bread to dip into the curry and grab the curry with the bread and eat it. This yellow curry at Pipo was very runny. It was more like a soup. So we drank it like a soup. We did try to dip the bread in it. Bread is VERY oily, but good. 4) would have been nice for server to check tables and bring another jar of water when the jar is empty or even if we may want something else or if they missed anything or if we want to order dessert. They never checked back on our table. They came once to bring the menus and water jar, once to take orders, and once to deliver food and that was it. No check up after we got our foods. Would be nice for servers to check back on tables after we get our foods. Conclusion I will have to try different dishes next time I go here. Hopefully they'll get my order right the next time around. There wasn't much people eating here today. I saw like 2 or 3 other table of people. Most tables were empty. So not sure why my orders was messed up. We never got our tab. So i just walked up to the cash register area so they know we were done and ready to pay. Seen this spot for the past year but never made my way here, and I regret not coming in any sooner. I love Thai food and did not expect them to have Thai cuisine because the name of the restaurant, I just assumed ramen. Not a lot of Thai restaurants offer Thai boat noodles so I'm always looking for more spots serving it. When I saw my friend's post I knew I had to try it. By just the looks of it, it looked thick, pungent, and flavorful. Most importantly I could tell the broth was made using real pork blood. If you've had Thai boat noodles before, you know how the broth is made. Came in during a Friday afternoon for lunch, decent amount of ppl and was seated quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place is nicely modeled and inviting. Once inside it does feel more like a Thai restaurant setting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Servers are nice and welcoming as-well as quick. Food came out quickly. Portions are very reasonable. I eat with my eyes too so presentation 10/10. Nicely plated with vibrant colors. Everything was fresh! Every dish we ordered was delicious! Flavorful to the max! The boat noodle was pungent and the right amount of sweetness to it. I just wish it had a tad bit more fried garlic in the soup base. Still did not disappoint. Lao style papaya was fire. Had the perfect umami taste! I loved how it comes with green beans and shrimp! Pad thai chefs kiss! No artificial flavors to it. If you know, pad thai is made with tamarind base. You can definitely taste the tangy sweet base and know it's not powder packet mix nor did it taste like ketchup. Some spots make it taste like that and that's because that's a hack version to making pad thai I believe. Overall, definitely recommend! This food was SO good. This place was recommended by a friend who said it was a go to for them so we were excited and not disappointed. The food was really good. My only suggestion is start with level 1 for spice because we got 2 thinking it was safe and the food was so spice we almost couldn't finish eating it but it was THAT good. Service was good and it's a nice space. Will definitely return! read more
Definitely one of the best Thai places in the area! Pad Thai is hands down my favorite noodle dish and I'm always looking for a good Pad Thai. They use the correct noodles, it's not dry or overly saucy, and the flavors are perfect. The spice level can also be adjusted. The crispy pork belly and karaage chicken are also great starters. They have a good mix of Thai and Japanese foods. Can't go wrong with either! I've dined in and also done delivery and the food tastes great every time. The service is always fast and the workers are super friendly and helpful. Inside is nice and clean. They have a cute bathtub as a seating area as well. Definitely keeping this place as my go to Thai spot! read more
My go to for boat noodles. I just love how the broth is rich and spicy to my liking (they usually ask how spicy you would like it). The soft shell crab curry ramen reminds me of kapoon but soft shell crab with ramen noodles instead of the traditional noodles. Their green Thai tea is super creamy and super good. Service is amazing and fast. The ladies are very friendly! I have yet gone to the restaurant when it's super busy but there's usually 3-5 parties at the restaurant including myself! read more

A low key Thai-Japanese fusion spot with nicely executed flavor combos. Dishes I tried: CHICKEN KARAAGE : nice battering (not overly battery or oily), comes with 2 sauces which are both tasty. PIPO CURRY RAMEN : a rich broth with balanced notes of coconut and curry. The noodles are perfect texture--not too chewy, starchy, thick, or thin! PAD SEE-EW : was VERY salty for me. Portion size was also a bit small, though with how salty the dish was, that wasn't the biggest huge issue for me. Overall, I'd recommend this as a spot to check out if you're curious about a Thai-Japanese fusion concept--I know that's what drew me in the first place. But, I'd definitely look into asking for reduced salt levels if your palette leans on the blander side. read more
