I have tried Panera in different locations but not with a drive-thru I have to admit it's cool we have one in Salinas and sad people are having a bad experience. I'm going to give it 5 stars for getting a new type of food joint in the area AND because although the time was a bit long (15-20 mins drive-thru) I felt the quality was good for the food and the guys was very courteous. I was just at Panera getting started with my workday. And I happen to take my service dog with me. He barked once and the manager there Angela came out and basically raised her voice at me didn't say good morning and told me my dog is not allowed there Only service dogs are allowed... she didn't bother to ask me if my dog was a service dog which he is but just her attitude and the way she approached me was completely uncalled for I was nice. Looked at her and just said OK. Also, I could see by the look of a female employee sitting near by that was also waiting to clock in for her shift she didn't want my dog there.... I am very disappointed. I have been there before with my dog....also when I went to ask for the supervisors name, I was only given her first name, even though I asked what her last name was the employee at the front just repeated her first name... It was almost as they were smiling for asking me to leave...I'm very disappointed. I will not be back again and apparently that's what they want is for me not to go back again. I went to the drive-through today and I would have to say that I had the best experience by far in a long time with fast food. The lady that took my order was very kind and friendly and patient with me as a place my order, she was so nice out I even bought a cinnamon roll. as I went up to the window to pay I was greeted by the same lady her name was Sylvia she's very nice and sweet and she handed me the information to register for an account. she took the time to talk to me and sure how it works I really appreciate this especially at a time right now when human connection has been obsolete. it's very rare to find people who actually enjoy what they do, keep up the great work Sylvia we appreciate it!!! read more

Welllll, i had their mac &cheese with broccoli which was amazing. It was very creamy and full of flavor, purchased a small one 6.00, this place is expensive for the size and also had the pepperoni and mozzarella its good, but fir the price they really need to put more pepoeroni and cheese to make it worth the ptice! Was hesitant on Panera but decided to try it a few days ago. And my wife and I loved the soup and sandwich duets I believe. We also enjoyed the cold teas they had very flavorful. And the service was great. Went back for breakfast with our daughter. And I have to say they sandwiches were great customizing them is easy and the options not vast but some spinach and tomatoes on my sandwich made it better. The bread I have to say is delicious. But most of all the customer service is what will keep me coming back. Especially Alex what an awesome experience helped us in correcting a situation and was so friendly and polite. If you like American breakfast this is a good place. Their oatmeal is delicious. Try their soufflé. I recommend the four cheese soufflé and the spinach artichoke soufflé. The place is amazing. Their soup in a bread bowl is way above 10 out of 10. Although it's a bit more expensive than Chick Filla it's food is organic and healthier than the fries food place. Panera is one of my favorite chain restaurants and this place usually delivers with the quality, although you have to be sure to double check your order because they tend to forget items. This past visit I had to go back up to ask for my pastry which they forgot, which isn't a big deal but would've been disappointing if I had done take out. Bottom line, it was pretty bland and dry - almost tasteless and certainly not worth the price. I think what this needs is tomatoes - or maybe pickles and much more of the Garlic Aioli but I won't be ordering it again. I love Panera, but this the most unorganized and un-trained spot I've come across. Today was the 3rd I've come to pick up my order and for the 3rd time it was not ready. The 1st time I placed my online order the previous night they didn't even make the bacon souffle that morning when I went to pick it up. Waited a week, this time went inside to order. Was told they didn't have enough time that morning to make them so I just ordered a large ice tea... was told sorry "we are out of large cups". 3rd time... ordered online the night before and even called that morning to make sure they got my order and that they had the bacon souffle. I was assured by the manager it would be done in 20 minutes. Got there in 30 minutes and I see them picking souffles off the floor in the back. I'm DONE..... Yay!! Well that's where the fun stops. They do not take your food to the table! What the heck????????? I know, in Monterey, Panera takes your food to your table!! I know, I know! I was disappointed too. They seem to be slower here too. Maybe because they are only a month or so old. I don't care, no excuse. Get your socks into Gear! In a month or so since it's been built, I been here 8-9 times. Don't judge me. But, I wait for my food at the front table. I'm hearing the employees talk stuff, about the other employees. Very unprofessional, take that stuff to the back or outside, gessh!! Again, I'll say it again, this is Panera, expect Panera stuff. It's good. I love it! I was excited to hear Salinas was getting a Panera, but it's really different to the one in Sand City, and that's not a good thing. No meeting room. No cups near the self pay tablets, which means you need to stand in line anyway to get your drink. No table delivery of food. Slim picking of 3 cookies as choices for the 99 cent add-on for pastries. In Sand City, you can pick almost anything. And both times I've been there, service was slow and apathetic. The positives were that there's plenty of parking and my food orders were correct. I hope this location gets better! read more

I love love love Panera! My preferred "go to" place for something to eat. I've been to the location in Sand City and Gilroy, many times. So obviously, I know what my usual order would taste like. I was super happy when they opened the one in Salinas, because it's not to far from me. I tend to order the same kinds of things. It's been a few times where I order my food here, and it is nothing like what a Panera meal should taste like. Example, instead of putting the right ingredients, they put random ones. I know you can customize your meal, but I did not. My mozzarella was replaced by parmesan. I was supposed to have basil in my sandwich, they put tons of spinach. And all these other mistakes. Worst of all, nothing was said to me about it. To compare it to the location in Sand City, they'll let you know what ingredient they didn't end up having. They'll give you other options. I understand it just opened, so you're learning the ropes a little bit. But everyone loves Panera for what they have to offer. You can't just change the recipes and not provide good customer service. Hopefully they improve, but for now, I'll be sticking to the Sand City location. read more

To my displeasure I ordered the Mediterranean sandwich, with mediocre hummus, un-crisp veggies and the soggiest arugula I've ever laid my eyes on. The bread was the only good component to this dish, and that may be because bread is supposed to be their forte, but even then. I entered this restaurant to tom foolery and shenanigans from the employees, shameful to my innocent eyes. The lemon cookie was simply, a cookie, no lemon in sight. I was excited to hear we got Panera. This also means more vegan options in Salinas. Try the blueberry almond smoothie or the Mediterranean sandwich sour dough with no pesto. Everything bagel is good. I haven't tried the vegan lentil soup. Ok yes you will have to wait in drive through I would expect that at a place like this the food is really good. Surprised by all the complaints, it is a newer store so I'm sure they're still getting used to things. Just order it in if you have an issue waiting in a drive through. Some people ahead of you might have an huge order, and I didn't have an issue with waiting and the food was really good. I have modifications for some dishes and although they have never messed up I have had them forgot an item one time so maybe double check before driving off. read more

My last visit was very unpleasant due to their inaccuracy and the long wait. Which is particularly bothersome when the receipt ends with "Accuracy Matters" I went through drive thru because I was on a short lunch. The wait time alone was frustrating but I understand that can be out of their control in certain situations. I ordered a green tea and a half chicken Caesar salad. I had to pull up to their curbside pick up because they were backed up and waited about 5 more minutes. The restaurant forgot an item in my order. Totally understandable, everyone makes mistakes. However, to receive a refund you need to return to the restaurant. So, if they make a mistake the burden is on the consumer to make it right. I'm sure many people don't go back making this policy a real money maker for the company. I have a coffee subscription and go to the store a couple of times per day to get my coffee. Recently I heard that someone in the store contracted coronavirus and they have been closed for the past few days. The virus spread to a number of employees. They probably won't open until next month. Sad management will not tell you this. They make it seem that they care about your safety but they don't. They should close down or get new management.
