Chai tea and pumpkin sugar cookie.
    Noel R.

This one is tough. I got a chai tea, pumpkin sugar cookie and ciabatta bread w/ butter. It was soooooooo overpriced but it was also delicious. I would definitely eat it again but not pay for it again. $8 for coffee & $4 for one cookie, $7 for bread. These are nutso prices. The tip option comes up 1st at check out but that makes no sense because you have to go get your own food and bus your own tables. They should be tipping me 3.5 is my rating.

Grilled Chicken & Avo BLT. Fresh ingredients. It's fine but not amazing.

I'm not a Panera fan and I probably will never be one. Sorry. It's just the ultimate cookie cutter restaurant and they all look and feel perfectly identical. HOWEVER, my bagel sandwich was legitimately very good. Was it worth 10 bucks? Probably not, but it was delicious and filling. And it came with a tiny bag of chips (you can get an apple or a small piece of baguette instead, if you prefer). The bagel I tried was the Spicy Steak Asiago Bagel Stack (stack?) which comes with steak, provolone, salsa verde spread, red onions, arugula, and sweet peppers. It's definitely on the spicier side, which I like. There is a lot going on here with all the ingredients but overall, it's very good. Also, it's only available for a limited time. I also sampled the Grilled Chicken and Avo BLT and it was fine but nothing amazing. In fairness, there is only so much you can do with the basic sandwich. The ingredients were fresh and the bread was good. Panera does bread really good, no question. Their mac and cheese is also solid. This Panera location is brand spanking new and even has a drive through, which I didn't know Panera restaurants offered. The interior was clean but not as spacious as I expected. There is plenty of free parking in the lot. Am I a Panera fan now? No, but the food is high quality and, damn it, their bread is really very good.

Once a Favorite, Now a Disappointment I've been a 25+ years Panera customer, and their cinnamon bagels used to be "legendary"-warm, flavorful, and generously sized. Unfortunately, the bagels have noticeably shrunk while prices have gone up. What once felt like a treat now feels more like something you'd pick up at a 7-Eleven. My recent visit was also a customer service headache. When I arrived to pick up my order, the staff couldn't locate my name in the system, even after I gave my phone number three times. The ordering system showed I was eligible for a free baguette, but because they couldn't find my name, I was told I couldn't get it. Good customer service would have been to honor the reward, especially after I spent over \$55 on smaller-than-usual bagels with no cream cheese included. For a place that built its reputation on quality and hospitality, this was a real letdown. Unless something changes, I may not be returning anytime soon.

Clean fast to get to a good food. Super friendly people I would highly recommend go there as fast in and out.

Brand new location in San Marcos, California. Panera's sourdough multigrain loaf is pure California bliss--golden crust, airy crumb, earthy grains, and a taste that's irresistible. Paired with olive oil and balsamic, each bite invites you to savor life's beauty, like a warm California sunbeam wrapped in wholesome, tangy-sweet delight.

Are the EV chargers just for show? They never worked. Let the EV drivers to top off while going to your restaurant.

I did a mobile order pick up because that place seemed super busy when I went in to pick up my food. The sandwich is packed with fresh flavor and felt full from half a sandwich. Flavors and textures were a perfect blend of toast and crisp, and the veggies were still crunchy and not soggy. I tried their cookie for dessert and wow, so soft and not too sweet. This is a place I will come back to whenever I want to go out for lunch.

All the sandwiches are fully customizable as to choice of bread and accoutrements, so keep that in mind. The garlic chili oil, chipotle ranch, and chipotle mayo spreads are all house made. I had the Turkey BLT with Avocado with "The Works", on a house made roll that they make daily. "The Works" includes mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, and chopped red onions. With the one inch thick stack of fresh, thinly sliced turkey and all those other delicious ingredients, this sandwich girl's heart was in heaven. I can't even describe how fresh every single ingredient was on this sandwich. Let's just say everything had a clean taste to it and not one ingredient overpowered the other ingredients. Oh! And I got a delicious house made chocolate chip cookie with the sandwich. There are daily specials. On Fridays, they supposedly have the best London Broil roast beef French Dip sandwich, with house made Au jus that is allegedly out of this world. Might have to make two trips to Tina's this week! A hidden gem.

How good was my experience at Old World Meat Company? So good, I cried. I grew up eating Balkan…read morefood and my first bite of the cevap (minced meat sausage but there is no casing; just the meat hand-formed and grilled) tasted like "the olden days" and tears started flowing because of the happy memories and flavors it brought back. Bosko and his family own, operate, and create the menu at this restaurant and they are friendly and welcoming and passionate about the food and service they offer, and it felt like coming home. The Food: I had the Mixed Plate, which comes with grilled minced meat sausage, grilled pork shoulder and a side of coleslaw (prepared the Balkan way with oil and vinegar). I chose the Balkan toppings, so the meat was served on a naan type bread topped with the Balkan toppings which consists of white onions, kajmak (feta cheese/cream/butter spread), diced bell peppers, and ajvar (bell pepper and eggplant spread). The sausage is perfectly seasoned, the pork shoulder tender. A friend and I also shared a half-order of Balkan Fries with sausage topped with Balkan toppings. The combination of the fries, sausage and toppings is a tantalizing, mouth-watering marriage of flavors. Bosko brought a sample of the chicken since we hadn't ordered it and it was full of flavor and oh so tender. If you've never had Balkan food, you are in for a very delicious treat. The first time you eat here, I suggest you get the Mixed Plate with Balkan Toppings. Ask them to add a side of chicken to your plate so you can sample that too. I think you'll find you've died and gone to Balkan heaven. If you want to know what every person of Balkan heritage grew up eating, this is what we were eating. The Drink: They offer a good variety of beers on tap, both local brews and name-brand. Soft drinks and iced tea are self-serve. Nice. The Ambiance: The restaurant is located in an older, tiny little shopping mall almost at the end of East Valley Parkway. Bosko's father bought the building back in the 70s so this is a location that is near and dear to Bosko's heart. As you first walk up to the restaurant, the first thing you notice is the wonderful smell of the smoker filling the air with the unmistakable scent of good-meat-things-happening. Taste buds, get ready for a grand ride. There are picnic tables outside but it was a warm day and we wanted to sit inside. Inside you are greeted with a clean, open and welcoming space, newly decorated with bright white tile in the kitchen and service area, and rustic wood boards on the wall. Seating is at either picnic-style tables or taller tables with stools. Two TV sets were airing sports programs, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. The ceiling features open duct work that's shiny and new and there's corrugated metal sheet on the bottom half of the walls, which all together makes the place feel fresh and warm and comfortable. The menu is easy to read and straight-forward. While we were there, a softball team was hosting their end-of-year party. The place was full to the rafters but we never felt like it was too many people or too loud. Value: The prices are extremely reasonable. Let's just say my eyeballs didn't pop out of their sockets like they do at some restaurants. Everyone in my party was pleased with the portion sizes, and we all felt like we got more than what we paid for in terms of the quality of the food and the taste of the food. Catering: Bosko was telling us a little about how he came around to opening the restaurant and we learned that before this he did catering, serving whole roasted pig, lamb, sausages. He shared that they are going to cater for an event that will have 1,200 people!! The softball team I mentioned in "The Ambiance" section had their food catered in-house by Bosko. They had hero sandwiches which looked fresh and delicious and fully loaded with deli ham, turkey and toppings. These were served with fries and a green salad. Old World Meat Co also caters the traditional Balkan foods they serve at the restaurant, which would make any party a hit with guests. Bosko is passionate about his food and culture and is eager to share it with people, so if you have a party coming up, give Bosko a call and see what he can do for you. Take Some Home: You can purchase a package of frozen sausages to take home with you. I forgot to ask if they come pre-cooked or if you grill them yourself. But either way, they would be a great addition to any meal you serve at home. Final Thoughts: Do yourself a favor. Come and partake of this oh so delicious food and I think you will find yourself wanting to come back again and again. The food. The ambiance. The value. The nicest people you'll ever meet. Old World Meat Company is the whole package. A five-star experience for sure.
