Got the combo with chips and a drink. The chips were Miss Vickie's, and they were a bit stale. The soda fountain for Diet Pepsi was also not providing a lot of carbonation, so our drinks were on the flat side. Value wise it was what we expected and was affordable. What happened to this place? Used to stop here frequently after work. Now I work from home so I offered a sandwich for delivery. There's almost NO meat. It used to be a generous portion but there's literally so little on it is see-through. It also has an ungodly amount of mustard. Dripping with mustard. I am a loyal customer here and experienced cross contamination from a worker while making my sandwich. I've never seen this worker before, I told her the three toppings I wanted (spinach, tomato, pickles) placed pickles then a handful of onions on top. I told her politely that I didn't ask for onions she continued to take all the onion off that had pickle juice, mustard, & mayo on them now and put them BACK into the onion container that they use for everyone's sandwich's. I would've thought she would toss them, considering many people can be allergic to any of those things not knowing that it's on their onions. Food handlers training is very important and prevents these type of things. Stay on top of your employees and make sure they know what cross contamination is very unsafe!!! read more

Just went to this location for the first time today. Regardless of location, they are always delicious. At this location, they are practicing social distancing, wearing gloves, & masks. I got the avocado, turkey, & provolone sandwich on squaw loaf. I added light mayo, mustard, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, & sprouts to mine. And then, I grabbed cheddar & sour cream chips with a Snapple Apple. Everything was so delicious & fresh. I also see they have cookies. First of all my family and I have been regular customers of Submarina for years, My favorite is the ATC on sourdough bread There usually delicious and filling. Our order of our ATC today was a disappointment. First there was little turkey on the sandwich it mostly consisted of tomatoes and lettuce. Usually there is a healthy amount of turkey present. Avocado was almost as spares as the turkey. Realize cost of everything has gone up due to transportation problems. So don't give me less turkey and avocado either raise the cost of said sandwich or let people know this is the case. I called back and "Rebecca" answered, when I explained how my sandwhich quality was less then satisfactory she explained "all the tomatoes are small so I put 5 or 6" well like I said I expected that my sandwich would have more veggies or at least quality. Called to place an order and was placed in hold where I got listen to the employees shoot the $h!* for a couple minutes ( I could hear the person that picked up the call telling the other employees "shhh There's someone on hold!!!") then someone (not sure if it was the same person ) picked up and very unprofessionally asked me "....are you gonna order a sandwich?" The person sounded so annoyed that they had to aaaactually take an order that I just hung up! It seems like Subway has a store everywhere you look, so I typically stop at those out of convenience. But yesterday, this Submarina was the most convenient. To be fair, I have to say that the sandwiches I ordered were substantial and very tasty. And, the staff was polite. My dissatisfaction is with their prices. I suppose it's my fault for assuming the posted pricing on the menu board was for a 12" sandwich. I was shocked when reached the register, my order was roughly three times a comparable order at Subway. I'm a firm believer that when it comes to quality, we get what we pay for. Came here to get lunch. Ended up leaving to the Oceanside Submarina. Wanted to purchase a kids combo and the girl I believe her name was Christina would not let us. Sara asked if the meal was for me and because I'm an adult she would not let me purchase it. I have had a medical procedure done that does not allow me to eat large portions. I showed her the medical card I carry provided from my surgeon. Christine would not walk over to see it when the girl checking us out said to come and see it. So there we are with our sandwiches made. Horrible customer service and it's a shame Christine would not even make the effort to see the card. We walked out and left the sandwiches. So now you lost a customer and made sandwiches for no reason other then to lose money. Hopefully the franchise owner reads this and teaches her better customer service! Not to mention my 12 year old was with me ordering a regular size. Not sure if that counts as a child but that was never offered. Nothing stating this policy anywhere. What does it even matter? How many people come in to order kids combo to go? How many door dash combos do you receive for kids combos? Do they ask if it's for a child? Makes no sense other then being discriminated against.
