Sub-marine is hands down the best sandwich spot. They give you a huge portion of deli meat and therefore their sandwiches are huge! I love their ATC sandwich with sprouts, tomato, onion and cucumbers. The service is great! Fast and friendly. Overall, an excellent spot to go for a quick bite. I heard they have great soups. I'll have to try one of them next time!

Amazing sub sandwiches! Their menu is huge and there are lots of options for customization. The sandwiches were super yummy, we tried the ATC and the House sub. The sandwich makers were so friendly and the ambiance was really comfortable, like being in a really familiar place where you can just come and relax and eat good food. 10/10 for customer service. The ingredients tasted SO fresh. Portions were big as well, I got a 6 inch and could only eat half. We'll definitely be regulars here. This is the best place to get sandwiches! I want to go again tomorrow!

My favorite sandwich shop of all time. The best bread, the best ingredients, the best store. I always feel like I'm in an early 2000s tv show hangout spot when I go inside. I love it sm, I risk my tmj for it. The bread is so soft it doesn't even hurt my jaw!!!

This might just be the best sandwich I've ever had. The crew is clean, efficient, and very friendly. Definitely felt a family vibe. The produce, meat, and cheese are so fresh and the French bread is so soft. I will definitely be coming back to try everything on the menu. PS: the sandwiches are huge and they make sure to stuff them full.

#33 the BIG KAHUNA (ham, salami, roast beef, turkey, pastrami, provolone, avocado, cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, Italian dressing)

was in San Marcos for a high school wrestling event and since I skipped breakfast was seriously famished by late afternoon. checked Yelp for a sandwich-place recommendation and happily wound up at Sub-Marine. ordered #33 the BIG KAHUNA (ham, salami, roast beef, turkey, pastrami, provolone, avocado, cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, Italian dressing). very solid sandwich. not shareable (or monstrously huge at the price point) but still managed to waddle out fat and sassy. family owned and operated with exceptionally friendly and efficient service and a warm, inviting vibe.

Defiantly the best local deli in San Marcos. Service with a smile makes you feel at home, like your aunt or uncle is making you an amazing sandwich. Italian was absolutely amazing I ordered a 9 inch probably only needed a 6 inch as it is quite loaded with ingredients (just how I like it). Can also save the other half for later. Atmosphere was quiet and peaceful to have a quick bite to eat before a CSU San Marcos tour!

When you're in the area, and you want a sandwich, this is the place to go to! The staff was very polite and patient with me. The menu was HUGE (as seen in the photos) so it took me a while to decide what I wanted. But I'll tell you what, the Club Sub did not disappoint! I only got 6" but man was it filling! Now, To be candid, this sandwich was good. Not great. The bread however was AMAZING! The meat slices they use are just typical ham in water sliced. Nothing crazy. So if you want a sandwich from a place that's consistently good, this is where you'll go.

I did however have a bit a negative experience, picked up lunch couple days ago and got a chicken kabob bowl and as I bit into it noticed the chicken was undercooked. Didn't have time to go back and share with staff.

Why did I come here?…read more With a hunger for mediterranean and the worry that nearby Aria may be a bit too pricey for a quick meal, I brought my son out to The Pita Guys for some gyro or shawarma. What we found were limited options, higher than expected prices, less than helpful staff, and not the best of food. Being my first time, I had questions about the menu. The young pair behind the counter didn't seem to know what they were serving, as they kept looking at one another for guidance with little ability to give me much relevant info on anything other than what types or protein they had. Once I finally ordered, they started to taking and filling the orders of people behind me. It wasn't until a much older woman came in from the back before my own dinner started being prepared. Seriously, it was a pretty weird setup. The food was served Subway style, where they go down the line asking what you wanted added to your wrap. Shawarma meat is minced, staying warm in a tub, and scooped to order by a spoon resting in a bin of cloudy water. Not only did it feel a bit gross, but it also seemed that the bulk of the juice in the meat came from that watery spoon, as the shawarma I ate was very dry. When it came to my son's Shawarma Plate, the menu stated that it came with two sides. What they don't tell you is that the only choices on the 'sides' menu open to you are Hummus and a Salad. The much more desired sides of Falafel, Baba Ghanoush, or even kid friendly Fries, were not offered. Needless to say, my son ate his chicken and rice, but wouldn't touch his hummus. So, a Shawarma Plate and a Shawarma wrap ... dinner for two, not a ton of food, neither of us were all that impressed ... and it cost us over $40. Needless to say, with how everything tasted and what it took to get ... we won't be coming back. For the price it cost us, I think we'll stick with the far superior Aria up the street. Or, at the very least, try the Kebab Shop down the block.

The staff is always friendly and personable, and the restaurant is usually clean and well-kept, which I really appreciate! My favorite order right now is the "Not So Fried" Chicken Sandwich. Between the toasted ciabatta, Mendo's Krispies, Mustard Pickle Slaw, and herb aioli, it's a divine mix of flavors. A side of the mustard remoulade totally elevates the dipping game! I'm also currently obsessed with their Spicy Curried Couscous! I do wish the "large" size of the Spicy Curried Couscous was a bit bigger since it feels more like a medium to me, but everything else is on point. Overall, Mendocino Farms has great food, awesome service, and is a place I always enjoy coming back to. Looking forward to my next visit!

The tomato slices are hearty. (One time the tomato slice was 1inch thick!) Thick slices of sourdough. That habanero honey sauce really takes the BLT up a notch on flavor. Very satisfying. I usually order order online for post workout dinner at home. Rarely is my order ready by the stated time on the receipt. I think most orders are placed online since the counter is always stacked with takeout bags. Dining room isn't busy (in the late afternoon/early evening.) If you are reading this review then you're likely new to Mendo. Good food takes time. You can taste the quality of the ingredients. Seasonal items are always worth a try. Parking was easy, although the shopping center itself is very busy. The restaurant was clean, bright, and open with plenty of seating (inside and outside). The staff was friendly, and the line moved fairly quickly. The setup reminded me of a Mediterranean version of Chipotle where you move down the line and customize your bowl. My favorite part was definitely the sauces and dips. The Crazy Feta was so good that I would honestly buy a jar of it if I could. I also liked having black lentils as an option since that's not something I've seen anywhere else. Overall, I thought the flavors were good, but there were a few things that missed the mark for me. The falafel had great flavor, but the texture was very doughy and not my favorite. The lamb meatballs were also on the dry side. I also found myself wishing they offered gyro meat. I'm glad I tried it and can see why it's popular. While I'm not rushing back, I'd definitely give it another chance and try some different menu items next time.
