My favorite sandwich shop of all time. The best bread, the best ingredients, the best store. I always feel like I'm in an early 2000s tv show hangout spot when I go inside. I love it sm, I risk my tmj for it. The bread is so soft it doesn't even hurt my jaw!!!

This might just be the best sandwich I've ever had. The crew is clean, efficient, and very friendly. Definitely felt a family vibe. The produce, meat, and cheese are so fresh and the French bread is so soft. I will definitely be coming back to try everything on the menu. PS: the sandwiches are huge and they make sure to stuff them full.

was in San Marcos for a high school wrestling event and since I skipped breakfast was seriously famished by late afternoon. checked Yelp for a sandwich-place recommendation and happily wound up at Sub-Marine. ordered #33 the BIG KAHUNA (ham, salami, roast beef, turkey, pastrami, provolone, avocado, cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, Italian dressing). very solid sandwich. not shareable (or monstrously huge at the price point) but still managed to waddle out fat and sassy. family owned and operated with exceptionally friendly and efficient service and a warm, inviting vibe.

Defiantly the best local deli in San Marcos. Service with a smile makes you feel at home, like your aunt or uncle is making you an amazing sandwich. Italian was absolutely amazing I ordered a 9 inch probably only needed a 6 inch as it is quite loaded with ingredients (just how I like it). Can also save the other half for later. Atmosphere was quiet and peaceful to have a quick bite to eat before a CSU San Marcos tour!

When you're in the area, and you want a sandwich, this is the place to go to! The staff was very polite and patient with me. The menu was HUGE (as seen in the photos) so it took me a while to decide what I wanted. But I'll tell you what, the Club Sub did not disappoint! I only got 6" but man was it filling! Now, To be candid, this sandwich was good. Not great. The bread however was AMAZING! The meat slices they use are just typical ham in water sliced. Nothing crazy. So if you want a sandwich from a place that's consistently good, this is where you'll go.

I really love the options to customize your protein, if the one that is normally included isn't to your taste. I love their tri-tip, and they have it as pastrami in a sandwich now. I also love the tri-tip as bbq sandwich. My Mom loves their salads, especially the Cobb. The focaccia comes with the salad, and is also the base for the sandwiches. You can tell it's baked fresh, as it's most and delicious. They also bake awesome cookies, if you're not full enough! I did however have a bit a negative experience, picked up lunch couple days ago and got a chicken kabob bowl and as I bit into it noticed the chicken was undercooked. Why did I come here?…read more With a hunger for mediterranean and the worry that nearby Aria may be a bit too pricey for a quick meal, I brought my son out to The Pita Guys for some gyro or shawarma. What we found were limited options, higher than expected prices, less than helpful staff, and not the best of food. Being my first time, I had questions about the menu. The young pair behind the counter didn't seem to know what they were serving, as they kept looking at one another for guidance with little ability to give me much relevant info on anything other than what types or protein they had. Once I finally ordered, they started to taking and filling the orders of people behind me. It wasn't until a much older woman came in from the back before my own dinner started being prepared. Seriously, it was a pretty weird setup. The food was served Subway style, where they go down the line asking what you wanted added to your wrap. Shawarma meat is minced, staying warm in a tub, and scooped to order by a spoon resting in a bin of cloudy water. Not only did it feel a bit gross, but it also seemed that the bulk of the juice in the meat came from that watery spoon, as the shawarma I ate was very dry. When it came to my son's Shawarma Plate, the menu stated that it came with two sides. What they don't tell you is that the only choices on the 'sides' menu open to you are Hummus and a Salad. The much more desired sides of Falafel, Baba Ghanoush, or even kid friendly Fries, were not offered. Needless to say, my son ate his chicken and rice, but wouldn't touch his hummus. So, a Shawarma Plate and a Shawarma wrap ... dinner for two, not a ton of food, neither of us were all that impressed ... and it cost us over $40. Needless to say, with how everything tasted and what it took to get ... we won't be coming back. For the price it cost us, I think we'll stick with the far superior Aria up the street. Or, at the very least, try the Kebab Shop down the block.

Most of the time I'm ordering a burger with just meat and cheese, sometimes lettuce, and tomato. This time I built my own double cheeseburger with grilled onions, and honestly, it was one of the best smashburgers I've had in San Diego. The burger itself was the star of the show. The patties had that great crispy smashburger texture, plenty of flavor, and just the right amount of salt for my taste. I've had a lot of smashburgers around San Diego, and this one is probably my favorite so far. They talk a lot about the milk buns they use, and I can see why. The bun was soft, flavorful, and held everything together perfectly. Every bite just worked. My wife and I also shared fries and tater tots, and both were crispy and delicious. No complaints there. Service was friendly and welcoming. We went on a Saturday afternoon and had no wait. The restaurant wasn't packed, but it wasn't empty either. We found a table right away and everything came out quickly. My only minor complaint is the location. If you don't already know where it is, it's easy to miss. It's tucked behind the bowling alley in San Marcos, and parking can be a little limited because it's a smaller spot. That said, the food more than makes up for it. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back.
