Sooo...I love Panera and I love that this store is so close to my house. What I don't love is the service. It always seems understaffed in that store and it takes FOREVER to get your food. I'm giving them one star just because my family loves the healthy options at Panera but this location is the single worst service out of any Panera I've EVER gone to!! My order is constantly wrong ( I'm pretty sure that plain with nothing on it does not mean put everything on it...this happens almost every other time I've come to this location!!) and service is always slow! I usually get my food and then have to call someone over to make the smoothie!! I've complained once, but the manager as well as the women at the register are so rude! I feel neutral about Panera's menu; it is close to home and always a viable option. Also, I do enjoy the occasional discounts and free bagels. I am disappointed in the service time and time again by the same male employee- worse customer service I have seen in a while. I tried to pick up an order for a family member and myself, only to be scolded that I can't have multiple accounts. Sorry? But how can he conclude that. On Jan. 6, 2022 (3 days after the vaccine mandate for restaurants), I took my 2 year-old son here for lunch. I was asked if I had proof of vaccination; I did not. So instead of ordering food for myself, I only ordered a kids meal for my son. There is no vaccine mandate for 2 year-olds, so when I got his mac-n-cheese, I sat down with my mask on and started feeding him. A few bites in, a manager came over and told me that he knew I didn't have proof of vaccination and I was not welcome to stay in the restaurant. After a few exchanges with him wherein I explained that I was not eating, I was keeping my mask on, and I was only feeding my child, he still insisted - quite awkward and rudely - that we had to leave. He was not prepared to have to tell a mother feeding her kid that she would have to leave, but he had to stick to his guns at that point. I packed up the food and then had to feed my son in the car. It was 10 degrees outside that day, and after realizing he couldn't finish his food, my son started crying like any hungry toddler would if he was kicked out of a restaurant mid-mac-n-cheese. Not sure what Panera was thinking when they put that "new" turkey sandwich on the menu. Its, without a doubt, the saddest sandwich ever...and tasted so bad, that my brother, who eats a lot of different things without complaint, actually threw it out after a couple of bites. I never expected such lack of innovation and such low quality. And who the heck thought it was a good idea to get rid of the french onion soup??? That was delicious!!! This Panera location has given me multiple reasons to write a review. I work in sales so I'l typically order breakfasts for my clients for morning drop offs. I typically order from the Woodfield location because it's close to my office. I live 2 blocks from this location and since I would be hitting the road early, I ordered from the location closest to me. I ordered a catering order for 70+ people and this was back in January. When I arrived to this location, the bagels were not cut, they were not in boxes but in paper bags. I told the lady that this order was not correct because I ordered the large catering boxes through catering over the phone who assured me all would be set.!She told me all of the catering goes to the Elk Grove location (15+ miles from where I was) and proceeded to tell me that I needed to go there to "get the bagels cut" and put into catering boxes. There was 8 inches of snow on the ground and I was carrying 6+ bags of bagels The right thing for her to do would have been to order these catering orders closest to where I was going in libertyville, but instead suggested that I get in my own car and across town to fix a mistake that they had made. One would have to assume that she wanted the sales for my large order without having to do ANY of the work. Minimally, she should have had someone else jump into their car and take the large order there and had me meet for pick up. I had 6 large bags of bagels that I had to carry in and out by myself! Did I say 8 inches of snow? No discount? Terribly disappointed and have not and will not be ordering Panera for any other of my breakfast orders which are typically once per week. The Elk Grove location was very kind upon arrival and did give me a coffee for the "trouble" that the other location had "caused" but after an hour and a half of driving there & waiting for the order, and getting on the road, and being late to my appointment with no apologies.. needless to say I will not be back read more

Awful Service and awful food. First, I ordered the Mexican corn chowder. No corn. It was just broth, lime cilantro and a few beans. There was no corn, meat, or tortillas. we did curbside pick up. When we pulled up, we texted here and waited and waited and waited. I checked to make sure I was at the right location. We were. I texted here again. Another customer pulled up and her order was brought out within minutes. After she got her food, I tried to get the employees attention by saying excuse me. He completely ignored me. I honked. He came over. I asked about my order. He said I came to early and it wasn't ready. I showed him the text that said my order was ready. I asked him to check but he just proceeded to argue with me. He said that I came to soon and my order was too big ( I ordered 2 bowls of soup - thats all). I just wanted him to check. But he was so argumentative. it was ridiculous. He finally went in, found it and was out within a minute. He spent more time arguing than it would have taken to get me my order. I do understand that glitches are going to happen and that's fine. But I should be able to ask for someone to check without a fight. Its almost as if wants to lose business. I even told him that I was not upset and just wanted him to check. Hands down the worst panera I've visited. The only reason I come back is due to convenience. The service is horrible everything from the managers the employees some are very nice and helpful. I tried out their new online ordering system and it was fairly easy. When i arrived to pick it up.....sadly they were out of the soup i wanted....so they refunded my order and let me pick a different soup.....my dinner was free of charge. This Panera is awful. It's never cleaning they are always out of main staples by noon. It doesn't help that their store is WAY behind all of the other Paneras in the area. I haven't been to a Panera for several years. I finally agreed to go back and have to say I was very impressed with their Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad. I wasn't starving so I ordered a half. I should also mention the counter lady was very helpful and friendly, as I had several questions and never felt rushed. I didn't care for the chips that came with it as they were kettle and not my thing. I did order a cookie and it was moist and very tasty. The tea was nice, but so prefer Coke places. My friend did half sandwich and salad and she loved it and said it works great with her diet plan. She is also a picky eater and goes here all the time. So it appears I have a new old place to go back to. BTW this place has some outside tables, large tables (a group was knitting when we arrived) as well as a large seating area in general. I come here in the mornings only, for my coffee and pastry and use the internet, so I cant really comment on the other services. My order is always quick and friendly. There are alot of tables even tho it gets quite full in the mornings. And the best part is you can get free refills on the coffee and tea...dont think you can get that at the other well known coffee place. Once again, our Rapid Pick Up order was not complete. The croutons and pickles were missing. Also, our online order did not apply the coupon I was promised in an email from Panera. When I went to the counter to discuss this, there was no employee to be found. I asked a cleaning associate to find the manager. The manager was rude to me. I have ordered online multiple times from this location, and each time I'm disappointed. I've waited an additional 10 minutes to get my order while I stare at it sitting on the back counter top - not grabbed and moved to the pick up area. I've watched the manager and employees in these instances, walk right past my food. I have ordered tea with these orders, and I have to heat up the tea when I get home as its cooled off from sitting there for so long. This was my first time ordering lunch at this Panera bread location. I ordered two cheese Brittany pasteries and a pick two (1/2 tuna salad sandwich and 1 cup of butternut squash soup) for takeout. I requested sunflower seeds on the side for my soup. I left and got in my car and looked at my sandwich and there was just a smear of tuna. I went back in to let them know there was barely any tuna on the sandwich. The person making the food held up the small like melon scoop and stated this is how much you get for a half order. I paid an additional $1.44 to get another small melon scoop. Additionally when I returned home there were seeds in my soup that I requested to have on the side. I get you are busy but try to honor customer requests. I tried calling the Manager at this location repeatedly and no one picked up the phone. My family and i have been going to Panera since I was a child, I could say we visit so often that we basically live there. They have an amazing selection of soups, sandwiches, and salads that satisfy the tastebuds. One of my seasonal favorite soups that I hope comes back in the summer is the Summertime Corn Chowder. The bread they give is always warm and crispy and the soufflés they serve in the morning are absolutely delicious. The employees are always welcoming and happy to serve their customers. Just when I think I tried it all, they come out with amazing seasonal dishes that I just can't get enough of. :) read more
