Each month, the restaurant offers 25% discount on a selected item - for example, it's blueberry pancakes currently. The service it always great, and every wait staffs here are friendly. It's really difficult for me to write this review because I have been coming to this restaurant for about two decades. However, over the past year, the quality has taken a plunge, but yesterday was the last straw. I ordered the Jalapeno Egg White Scrambler, which I had been ordering for over a decade. The eggs were cold and very watery, with very little, if any, cheese. It was by far the worst meal I have ever had at this restaurant. As a longtime customer, my thought was that mistakes happen. However, when I mentioned to the waiter what I thought about my meal, he simply said, "I'm sorry," but did not offer to have the eggs remade. As I was leaving, I explained the same thing to the cashier. Her response was, "The waiter didn't ask you if you wanted them redone." I said no, and she also said, "I'm sorry," but did not offer to take the meal off the bill, offer me a coffee, or do anything to make up for such a terrible meal. In any case, I will never visit this restaurant again. After being a loyal customer for nearly 20 years, it is very disappointing to have had such a poor experience and to feel that no one made any effort to address it. read more

Most won't and I do understand. My iced tea came in the smallest glass. With all the ice it was like 3 sips. Server was not around a lot for refills so for the price of my drink / I got very little. Big Party, Big Appetites, Big Breakfast, Fully satisfied. We were a party of 9, getting together to celebrate a birthday. I have been to a couple of different locations around Chicagoland, but never on a Sunday, so didn't completely know what to expect. Walker Bros does not accept reservations, but as we found out, the turn-over of tables is really fast and it truly is a family restaurant, being able to handle very young kids. Walker Bros was founded by brothers in 1960, and expanded throughout Chicagoland by their sons. One of the sons expanded to Southern California as Richard Walkers Pancake House, and we had been to the location in San Diego. So we kinda knew what to expect. The three of us were the first to arrive around 10:30 for a 11 start, so was able to ask for a table for 10 for 11 am. Sure enough, at 11 am, we were seated. Between 10:30 and 11, a bunch of people came in, but everyone was seated within 10 minutes (this is good since the waiting area was not designed to handle a lot of people). Later I realized that it wasn't THAT crowded...probably because of the mid 30 degree day that we were having. The food was excellent throughout. I like to eat non- breakfast food if there is something on the menu that interests me...this time it was the Strawberry Pecan Blue Cheese Salad ($14.50). It was good, though I wish the dressing had been on the side. The pecans were doubly glazed (candied), the strawberries were fresh...blue cheese crumbles would have taken this dish over the top. Luckily, my relatives know how I like to sample, so they offered me parts of their meal as well (though none of them took any share of my salad...I'm sure they were thinking.."Doesn't he know it is brunch time"). I was able to create a beautiful smorgasbord plate. I love hash browns, and the Spicy Habanero Cheese Hash Browns ($8.00) is a must to share. Perfectly cooked, with quite an initial kick from the Habanero; this is the perfect example of using very hot peppers to totally enhance the flavor and experience of a dish. I also got to sample a slice of the Apple Cinnamon Pancake ($15.75 which is more like a fully realized glazed cinnamon roll cake, but a lot more satisfying). Thus with a plate that had these ingredients, the salad went PERFECTLY with the hashbrowns and the pancake...it was marvelous. Service throughout was wonderful. Our waitress and manager constantly came to check on us, and when they found out it was my SiL's birthday, came at the end of meal to sing 'Happy Birthday' (along with complementary ice cream). Everything about the timing of the service was excellent, and there were no mistakes. And there was enough space for the young children to not feel too constricted. Considering how busy it was, and the size of our party, this was a real achievement and was really appreciated. I now fully understand why Walker Bros is so popular. read more

We had the oatmeal trio and an order of French toast. My daughter loves the coffee here as well. While some have had issues with the service, we have not. In fact, at one visit, my son ordered cranberry juice and the waitress brought a sample glass of the juice as she thought it was watery. She allowed my son to try it (no charge) and decide if he liked it. My son agreed with the waitress and was able to change his order. Kudos to the waitress for her honesty. Over the years, we tried many of their offerings, and these are some of my family's favorites: Dad - Santa Fe or Western omelette ($13.95, comes with toast or 3 buttermilk pancakes) Mom - Venetian or blue crab benedict ($13.95 or $16.50, comes with pancakes or fruit), corned beef hash well-done ($6.75), freshly-squeezed grapefruit juice ($4.95 large) Bro - blueberry Belgian waffle ($9.95) and freshly-squeezed orange juice ($4.95) Me - banana ($9.50) or potato pancakes ($9.95) I've never been to the Schaumburg location, but then we moved to the area, and a fierce banana pancake craving said that it was time to check it out. I ordered a catered breakfast for my salon meeting and it was outstanding! All the food was to perfect temperature, even the syrup was warm! The manager, Laura, was so helpful in helping me order. She was friendly and accommodating! Honestly if more breakfast restaurants served bacon as perfect as it was made, I would go to breakfast more. I'm an Eggs Benedict aficionado and the Venetian Benedict might well be the best one Benedict I've ever had. Some of the kids at the table decided to order the hot chocolate. It came in a big mug with lots of whipped cream on top. Some of the adults got coffee. No complaints there. For the main dishes, most of the people got different types of baked omelettes. We got: Santa Fe Omelette Custom Omelette Mediterranean Omelette Fresh Vegetarian w/cheese With the omelettes, those who ordered it were able to take out/add ingredients based on their taste. That was really nice of them to do that. However, in that process some of our orders got messed up when we received it. Again, they were really good about taking care of the mistakes that were made. The manager on duty - Angel - was great. One tip, the servers bringing out the omelettes really need to know which omelette is what because they are folded and hard to tell just by looking at it. But even with these issues, the omelettes were really super delicious. We also had someone order the fresh Belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream which was amazing. And someone ordered the chocolate chip pancakes. Also a big hit. The portion size is big and the omelettes can easily be shared by 2 people if you want to try different ones. For a busy place the service here was fast, efficient, and very friendly. Even though there was a line outside they never rushed us. The food here is simply delicious and filling. The Santa Fe omelet had a nice kick to it, while the meddetranian omelet was heaven for feta cheese lovers. The omelets come with a side of either toast or pancakes. The pancakes were soft and mouth melting delicious. The chocolate crepes were amazing. Our kids are picky about food but their comment about Belgium waffle was "This is as close you can get to the original Belgium waffles made in Belgium. Just perfect". Their orange juice was freshly squeezed but the added sugar made it too sweet. Overall this is a great brunch place and I highly recommend it to everyone. My friend and I visited the Schaumburg location on a Sunday morning at about 7:30am. Upon entering the establishment the man who greeted us was very upbeat and happy for a Sunday morning! He sat us and asked us what we wanted to drink. My friend is picky about her OJ so we asked before we order at all places if the OJ is fresh squeezed in house. The gentleman said yes, it is squeezed in house, i asked if it was cold and he said yes! The same nice man said if you do not like the OJ I will pay for it. The OJ was very good! Scrambled eggs were good, extra crispy hash browns were perfectly crispy and pancakes were light and fluffy! Butter is whipped, light, fluffy and delicious! Friends Belgium waffle was good, nothing special. Bar type seating is available, thought it was strange to stick a couple directly to the side of us. This place must have been a bar before?? There was a lot of other empty places they could have been sat. I was asked if I wanted a Togo iced tea, I though that was nice and above and beyond.
