I have come here after visiting Toys R Us because they are going out of business. After visiting said future "relic of the past", I decided to eat at the Panera Bread across the street. The atmosphere and establishment was clean and my order was taken right away. However, I have waited a total 20 minutes for my sandwich to come to my table while the person who came later and sat at the table next to me has received his nourishment quickly. To add insult to injury, my sandwich fell apart and I had to use a fork to eat the remains of what used to be a hand held delicacy. I hereby suggest that this eatery changes its work ethic or it shall receive the same fate as the toy store across the street. read more

Worst Panera. I ordered the Pick 2 half broccoli cheddar soup half southwest chicken salad. My chicken was undercooked (pink) and the soup was barely warm and super think and gummy. One of disappointing Panera experiences. I ordered a bbq chicken flatbread. As usual. This is not the first time I am ordering this. See the Picture attached. This was the saddest flatbread ever. I ordered a regular and it came with one piece. Yesterday I ate the very same flatbread at Bay Plaza Panera, and it had 2 pieces!!!!! And I checked the Insides of this one piece, there was almost none, microscopic level smoked pulled chicken there, and very little overall stuffing. The bread was hardened like it was old and tried to be heated again... as if this is not enough, I felt my stomach aching all afternoon, which hate most. I come Panera for a reason. It is supposed to be healthy, clean and consistent among different Panera stores, but almost never. I am sorry but this location is a definite no-no. My favorite cafe ever! The customer service is impeccable. I come all the way from bayonne just because of how great they treat you. Mostly the boss or supervisor. I don't know his name but he is an older hispanic male. He exceeds in his position. He always seems to go out of his way to make sure the customer is happy and doing well. I was there today and he came to check in with me. I also noticed when he was on his lunch, as the customers were leaving their table he made sure to ask if everything was well. He makes everyone feel special and shows he cares... Which is important to me atleast. read more

I am a huge Panera fan and my obsession only got worse when I had one within 5 mile radius of my college (last 4 yrs). Now that I'm in Jersey City the closest stores are either Hoboken or New York City, unless driving westbound. Panera at Mill Creek is a decent location nearest a strip mall (TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Sports Authority, Kohl's, Jenny Craig, etc). The interior is traditional Panera "homey" style with warm color patterns. The bathrooms were clean. The manager took my order and was extremely accommodating and helpful. He told me about Panera's updated menu where all items fit into the Take 2 catergory - nice perk! Also, the coffee ran out while I was there and the staff were very attentive. read more

For that price I could have had dinner elsewhere let alone lunch here. You'll have no issues with their food. This used to be my favorite Panera location but after today it's my least favorite. So I walk in to get my coffee and the lady at the register was rude. You can tell she didn't like her job and was making comments at the register to her co-worker about the line. Even though she was rude I was still polite and said thank you and have a wonderful afternoon! Still no reaction just a rude look. The Internet was super slow than it gets better. As I settle in and 15 minutes into my book the fire alarm goes off. Yes it goes off and water flows into the front of Panera. Very disappointing how there was no direction from the store employees. I truly felt bad for all the parents who had strollers and kids with them. If you went through the front hope your stuff didn't get wet. This place used to be on point. Today, it took me 30 mins to get my order for a half salad and soup. For christ sake, everything is pre made in your store. Did you bump my ticket from the KDS by accident and forgot about my order? My order was nowhere to be found in the screen of "order ready". Leaving one star because it's not possible to leave zero. Friend just visited yesterday to pick up lunch for us. He witnessed female worker behind the counter use her gloved hand to wipe snot from her nose and then continue to cut the bread with the same gloved hand. I love panera! However, this is not a standout panera in my mind, actually a bit of a let down. It is very crowded, and definitely not enough parking.... we had to park across the street! WTF! After all that just to get there I think we were expecting it to be fabulous! It was not. There was a long line and as we looked around many dirty tables that needed to be cleaned. We ordered, got our drinks, and sat down. They had cool pager/locator thingys where the staff actually found where you were sitting and brought the food to you (!!) instead of it buzzing and you going up to the counter. Our food arrived. Mine was OK, pretty standard. I ordered the french onion in a bread bowl as I always do at Panera. The croutons were a little stale but that was about it. The soup was warm and the bread was crunchy. Davis ordered some sort of panini and the broccoli cheddar soup. His soup was OK, but the panini was horrendal. Even by looking at it I could tell it was poorly made. All the meat was falling out. Once he took a bite it was clear they had not cooked it all the way. We decided not to complain, but I saw 2 other people go up and complain about their food while we were there. Slow Wi-Fi, long lines, tables are a little too cramped making it difficult to NOT hear your neighbors. Other then that they bring your food out quick and the coffee is scrumptious! The Frontega Chicken is absolutely amazing but you must, I repeat, must try the Tomato Soup, it's to die for! I must say I'm not a salad eater but once I had the Asian Sesame Chicken Salad and the BBQ Chopped Salad I changed my mind indefinitely. Very good customer service from the manager on duty on Saturday afternoon, May 27. I had an issue with my iced coffee and was refunded and even given a fresh coffee on the house. The manager made me feel like my complaint was totally valid and not like I was a bother. He was very kind and respectful-- I wish more managers were like him. Unfortunately, I did not get his name. The young lady who issued my refund was very nice as well. It was obviously that she had dealt with a very difficult customer before me but she was totally professional the entire time. Very pleased with my experience. Lines were long but there was plenty of seating available for a Saturday afternoon. Even had a nice outdoor seating area as well. Came here at noon on a sunday. Pleasantly surprised that there were plenty of parking spaces because this whole shopping center is usually horrible with parking. Some stuff here really is pretty darn good, other things are mediocre. I'll tell you the good, and you can assume everything else is mediocre. The GOOD: Bear Claw, Pecan Bun, Brownie, Carrot Cake, Danish rounds Mac and Cheese, Greek Salad, Power salad, Tuna salad sandwich, Fronteja Chicken, and i'm sure i'm missing a couple more.
