Cream of broccoli was good but the price $8.98 for I guess they're large. This is their large. I think it's absolutely disgusting to charge almost 9 dollars for a cup of that size. The soup is good, but are you kidding me? I have a few friends that don't go there no more because even their sandwiches overpriced and no meat inside the bread.

Those who know me KNOW I love me some Panera Bread. Having previously worked for a company that used to order from them for every lunch meeting or gathering, I fell in love with their delicious bread, sandwiches, soups, cookies and pastries. Despite eating from Panera 9999965357 times, I never got sick of them. Until recently. My husband and I stopped into the Shelton location this past Saturday around 10:30 AM before a trip to NYC. It wasn't that busy, so we figured we could get in, order, sit down for a quick bite (rather than dirtying up the car while trying to eat and navigate traffic) and get back on the road. Easy peasy, right? Uh, not quite. A couple in front of us was having trouble ordering because everything they wanted seemed to be unavailable at this Panera location. They were out of a particular sandwich the wife wanted. The wife wanted a blueberry smoothie or drink and they only had strawberries. Stuff like that. That should've been a major sign to us, but we brushed it off. Well, I brushed it off. When it's our turn to order, we ask for two sandwiches: a Bacon, Over Easy Egg and Cheese and a Sausage, Over Easy Egg and Cheese, both on the advertised Brioche bun. The cashier informs us they are "out" of Brioche buns. Of course they are. We opt for Whole Grain White bread instead as well as one Everything bagel with cream cheese to split. The bagel is given to us by the cashier who rang us up after a few minutes, in a paper bag, toasted and dry with a small cup of cream cheese and a knife for us to use. Maybe they don't put the cream cheese on because of COVID-19? Or because customers can decide how much or little cream cheese they want on their bagel? In any event, we didn't care much about that and were happy to slather it on ourselves. We stand around waiting for our food but don't see anyone working on our order. We decide to grab a table close to the food pick-up area to wait. I figured since we have to wait, we might as well eat the bagel. It's good. 10 or 15 minutes go by and a line of hungry folks have joined us in our quest to receive our elusive food. The other customers look annoyed. I see many employees shuffling back and forth in the food prep area but it didn't appear anyone was actually doing anything. Some legit looked like they didn't know what they were supposed to be doing. Then, a glimmer of hope: I hear a guy ask how eggs are supposed to be made for an order. I look up and see another guy mouth him something, hopefully the right answer, because I just KNEW it was our order they were talking about. I thought to myself, doesn't the actual monitor they all have access to tell them what to make? I'm annoyed at this point and go up and tell one of the young ladies that we will now take our order to go as we have to get back on the road and are now running late. She says it should only be a "few more minutes." I walk away. I decide to hit up the bathroom knowing we'll be getting back on the road (Pro Tip: Please don't use the women's bathroom; it is/was SO gross) and when I come out, my husband is back in the car. He tells me the same girl I spoke with gave him our sandwiches and she half apologized for the delay but didn't really seem that genuine. But okay, crisis averted, we now have our delicious breakfast sandwiches, right? Wrong! As long as it took to get our food (over 20 minutes!!!), I was expecting our food to remotely resemble what we ordered. Not. Even. Close. Take a look at my pictures and tell me if those two dry sandwiches are worth over $12 with tax. I was bewildered and flabbergasted. And, after all of that egg talk earlier, we get our sandwiches with eggs that are WELL over hard, not over easy. How hard is it to just make a very simple order? The sole star in this review is only for the freshness of the bread we ate; I'm honest and will say the bagel was fresh and tasty, as was the other bread, despite being part of two Sahara Desert-dry sandwiches. This Panera utterly and completely missed the mark and needs to get it together. And quickly.

The caesar salad was delicious. Although I prefer it with fresh parmesan cheese slices. That being said one of the top 10 caesar salads I've had. Thanks to my boy David T. for the recommendation!

First time for me to experience Panera's, but you know what they say "first impression is a lasting impression." at first glance Pandera looks like the Starbucks of Bread, same type of interior, concept but for carbs instead of caffeine. I ordered the new Cuban Chicken on focaccia, to find out there is unfortunately NO! Cuban chicken right now. But there is Frontega Chicken also on focaccia... after we sit down and wait for our orders to be brought out we hear a loud yell that there is NO! Frontega chicken. Okay!? What then to order...? Let's go for the Sierra Turkey, and for the inconvenience we get a refund... loved it! The breads are of great quality and the Sierra Turkey was alright. It did not really satisfy me, cause I was planning to eat the Cuban Chicken in the first place, but the Sierra became my third choice. Another sad thing was that one of the drinks we had to wait for, had a big long blond hair in it... NOT GOOD! Leaving the establishment I noticed that the floor was dirty and not cleaned for a while... so my first expression was not a good one I have to confess. Maybe next time it will be better, cause I will be back to try the Cuban Chicken on a focaccia...

Hmm. Long wait and they couldn't even make me a full smoothie. Think I'll avoid this location.

The broth was creamy and smooth like a typical Tonkotsu Broth but the added spiciness really removes or supresses the comforting part of this dish. I mean this in the best way possible, it was delicious and now I will be adding spice to my Tokotsu Ramen that I order from a place much more local to me. The broth also was not too salty which was sometimes an issue with me ordering Tonkotsu Ramen in the past. The pork slices were nice and thin and had a nice texture to it as well. The noodles were not overcooked either. A very well done Ramen dish. I decided to order the Butabura Donburi to go. This consisted of a pork rice bowl with caramelized soy sauce, scallion, tamago and sesame seeds. The pork was cooked perfectly and this dish was full of savory flavors. The rice was also "QQ" as some asians would say. For translation just think of QQ for rice the same as Al Dente for pasta. Learning new things every day, will probably be my last time saying QQ but this rice was QQ, straight out of a Zojirushi Rice Cooker. Anyways, before I get too deep into things only Asians would understand or care about, Terayama was quite the perfect stop for me in my long drive to get my computer fixed. All their food was done right and it was just the perfect place to stop in to get welcomed by knowledgeable and comforting staff on a cold day. Quite the hole in the wall but I'm glad I found it. Until the next time Terayama. Keep it QQ.

Was skeptical as many local restaurants do the bare minimum to satisfy local palates, straying from tradition. But not here! Founders Guy and Milanno actually got their start on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx back in 1990, and they've successfully transplanted that high-energy, authentic Italian spirit right into Fairfield County. The Foundation: Arthur Avenue Bread The bread at Gaetano's is legendary. They source it directly from the Bronx, ensuring that every sandwich starts with a foundation of beautiful, crusty sesame seed bread. * The Texture: It has that signature "snap" on the outside while remaining airy and soft on the inside. * The Flavor: The toasted sesame seeds add a nutty depth that complements the salty Italian meats and tangy vinegars perfectly. The Gold Standard Chicken Cutlets Many places claim to have good cutlets, but Gaetano's cooks theirs to absolute perfection. * The "Kovac's Special": Often cited as their flagship sandwich, it features a chicken cutlet so tender and well-seasoned it stands out even when paired with heavy hitters like prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, and broccoli rabe. * Crispy & Light: The breading is never greasy; it's thin, golden, and provides the perfect crunch in every bite. Unbeatable Value and Atmosphere Despite the premium quality and the "Bronx-to-CT" logistics, the value here is incredible. You can find several of their least expensive--yet still massive--sandwiches (like the John Wayne or various parmigiana rolls) starting around $11.50 to $14.00, with many hearty heroes hovering right at that $15.00 mark. The service team is a well-oiled machine. They are fast, friendly, and carry that classic deli "swagger" that makes the atmosphere feel alive. It's loud, it's bustling, and it's unapologetically Italian.

I went for the kovac special...a hero loaded with chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, prosciutto, and sautéed broccoli rabe. I added balsamic and it really set it off. All of their food is fresh and the bread is unreal. I believe they get it daily from Arthur Ave. My wife got the Stratford & main which was just chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, balsamic and roasted peppers. Only nitpick was that we felt a little rushed to order, and maybe we would have gotten something different but you really can't go wrong with anything at this place. The shop is loaded with various Italian imported foods, but didn't see any tables to sit and eat inside, so be sure to grab & go. Highly recommend.

The menus are pub & tavern style foods, and on Sundays they offer a nicely rounded brunch menu. Our bartender/server Ashley (who was servimg a busy bar and entire restaurant area alone) was focused and efficient and readily understood and embraced sarcasm from her tendees. The manager, Todd, was vigilant without being imposing, and obviously had a firm grip on the flow throughout the restaurant. I had the Barn Burger that was prepared and presented very nicely, and I chose the Caesar Salad over fries, which turned out to be the right choice as it was one of the best Caesar Salads I've ever had. The wife had the Frittata and loved it. We also split a Fondue Pub Chips - house made potato chips with several wonderful toppings. The signature cocktails were very different, priced well, and did the job. In totality, the experience was fantastic and I can see this place as the place everyone will want to be in 2026 and beyond. Operated by a group of restauranteurs that run several other chic restaurants in our area. UPDATE: We came back here five days later and I had a Pork Chop Scarpariello (excellent) and the wife had an Arthur Avenue Meatball Spring Roll with marinara sauce dip (amazingly good) and the Chinese Chicken Salad (excellent also).
