I ordered the Chicken Shack with crispy onion and avocado, and the chicken itself was easily a 5 out of 5. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The fries were spot on--crispy, not overly salty, and the portion size was just right. Everything came out hot and fresh, which made the experience even better. My only gripe? The sandwich had more bread than chicken. There was definitely some negative space in the bun, and I had to borrow a couple of chicken nuggets from my daughter's meal to make it feel complete. A thicker or more evenly sized piece of chicken would have sealed the deal. That said, the quality is definitely there, and the service was solid. I'd absolutely return. Funny little fact about the 'shack: The beef can be eaten extra rare or even raw, and they could cook to order but choose not to due to simplification. the ex-manager and I used to quaff xtra rare burgers all the time. They just won't do that for the average person. Yes, this location in particular has ridiculous throughput issues but that is none of my concern. I am addressing the elephant in the room; namely that replicating the original Shake Shack "quality" and undeniable success of their original NYC location is IMPOSSIBLE with many locations distant from the original beef source and in an age of rampant, runaway inflation. Due to the distance from the provider and to incorrect storage methodologies, the beef at this location often has freshness issues. Whie there have been many nice and capable staff memebers, this entire chain appears to have a policy of hiring whomever the hell shows up for an interview, resulting in a highly unprofessional staff SOMETIMES at least until those bad apples get weeded out. At these prices Shake Shack begins to make no sense, and I have not dined there since the early days of the Scamdemic. And of course, all my friends are gone from the location. read more

I was with a friend so we ordered 2 burgers Avocado and bacon, 2 small French fries and 2 vanilla shakes small: total $54.00!! What could improve is several things. We ordered a pickup and when we arrived after the notification that the order was ready the staff person at the pick up informed us that the order was not ready. We waited patiently and after 25 minutes still no order so we insisted on the status. Then it turns out the order was ready in the pickup area all along. The staff person's attitude was like we were s member of a disenfranchised community. She gave us cold food and an incomplete order. Kudos to the teamwork displayed by the late night staff last night 5/20/22 I find that the team here works well under pressure and high demands, as this location is frequently busy. The food is always tasty and fresh and the team works as quickly and efficiently as humanly possible. A special shout out to the woman who was holding it down while the team worked hard to fulfill an influx of orders. She was cleaning, informing customers entering of any item updates of items that weren't available by that hour and making sure customers felt attended to & was so warm & hospitable (shes sounds a little but like Tiffany Haddish, in the best way!). Other staff members preparing orders checked in as well periodically to make sure customers were satisfied & being helped. I witnessed an incredible display of team work and efficient multi tasking last night with the team on schedule! To the owner of this location, I have a few things to say that I feel could make things better for your employees, therefore for your customers: 1) Make sure your computers are up to date for your staff. During another recent visit a couple of weeks ago, 2 were not working properly, some customers were unreasonably unkind to your staff. Your staff was doing everything they could within their power to satisfy everyone. 2) Your online ordering should have a notes section. Your customizable option doesn't even indicate that you offer gluten free bread, give onions as a topping option for hot dogs or have any way for a customer to communicate with the staff on things such as how they like their food cooked as far as doneness. This will save your staff from unnecessary issues & you from food being returned for something different. 3) Give your staff a raise, I'm saying because i know i would after seeing what i have my last two visits and you don't have the same opportunity to see how they maintain the place so well when you're not there observing them. Never been to a Shake Shack before (I don't like long lines), but likely not coming back to this location. Frankly, the place is disgusting. There's garbage EVERYWHERE and patrons waiting outside are treated to a host of smells, from rotting garbage to who know what else. It stinks pretty bad, whatever it is. If you can't do basic cleaning in front, how clean is the kitchen? That's a red flag for me. Whoever owns this location should be ashamed. Also, if one of your primary attractions are your shakes, people shouldn't have to wait 20 minutes to get them. It's not like you're milking your own cows out back. I am only providing two stars, because the food at Shake shack is always amazing, but that's about the only feedback I can give for this location. The outdoor area is never clean and the last few times I was there, the trash was overflowing. If you have to use the bathroom, you should hope it's after you eat because it'll surely ruin your appetite. Not to mention you'll feel gross from having to wipe with a toilet seat cover because the toilet paper isn't stocked. Speaking of not in stock, bring your own water and ketchup because those seem to be missing often as well. Came in on a Tuesday early afternoon and I found that its better to come on those days than on the weekends simply because it is less busy. Because of that, my food came quick and it was a couple cents cheaper than compared to when I order on weekends. People who love Shake Shack just LOVE Shake Shack. I was introduced to the brand when it came to Westport, and I think it is mostly appreciated by kids. I've tried it several times, different times of day, with and without children. The Westport location is filthy dirty - I can't even look at the garbage can outside because I don't think anyone has tended to it in an decade. The food is very very salty, and the ice cream or custard is heavier than having cement pored on you on a blistering hot day. The overly salty burgers are very good, very juicy, but the meat is again just too salty. Same for the crinkle cut fries, which when lathered in cheese rival the cemented ice cream. The milkshakes are, however, quite good and I have picked one up at other locations. I think with any chain restaurant you either like the type of food and appreciate the approach, or you simply don't. The chairs are perfectly flat and your arse will pain you after 15/20 minutes. I took my 80-year old mother and she was aching the entire time. The tables were dirty and while there was in fact someone wiping down, it was just not fast enough for the crowd cycling in and out and he had too many other chores. Kids seem to dig it though. We ordered 2 chicken shacks, a burger, 2 fries and a small milkshake. Hate to say it but everything was bad. The chicken on both sandwich's was the size of a chicken nugget. It was like eating a slider. Same for the burger. The fries were so salty I couldn't even eat them and the milkshake was like warm chocolate milk. I rarely complain but I was pretty surprised with how bad the food was here. I guess it's tough to find help anywhere these days since our moron of a president it paying everyone to stay home but for 50 bucks you gotta do better than that. Sunday, June 30 at 9:48pm it's a late night Shake Shack run. Food - delicious! I order two shake shack burgers and two fries. Atmosphere - clean, friendly staff and quick service. I arrived several minutes before closing and still was greeted with a smile and many people dining inside. I needed to use the bathroom was pleasantly surprised the cleanliness of the bathroom. This shake shack was a great experience! I like that this location has a patio/deck and white lights throughout the outside perimeter. Also, I saved the second burger and fries for leftovers the next day heated them up in the microwave and still delicious; next time I'll reheat in the oven for a crispier texture. read more

I used to look forward to visiting this location when in Fairfield county. I don't know what happened since the last time I visited, but I was very disappointed when I visited, earlier today. The food was good, as usual. My issue was with the cleanliness, or lack thereof, I should say. The restaurant was filthy. Tables were dirty with ketchup smears and crumbs, floors were littered with trash and food, and the (unisex) bathroom had toilet paper all over the floor and smelled strongly of urine. I've been in cleaner bathrooms in seedy gas stations. No napkins in the dispenser and employee was rude and annoyed at the fact that he had to refill it.
