This morning I picked up an online order my boss placed the night before. When I arrived, I was told they were out of 3 sesame bagels and asked if I wanted to substitute--everything Asiago or cinnamon raisin. I chose everything Asiago. Before leaving the window, I specifically asked if all 4 cream cheeses were in the bag. The employee looked me in the eye and said yes. I got back to the office to set everything up and realized the order was wrong--we only received 12 bagels instead of 18, and just 3 cream cheeses. I was extremely frustrated. I called the store, requested the missing items, and had to drive all the way back. We realized that paneras gave us random quantities of bagels we didn't order. This was my first and last time coming to this Panera. The lack of attention to detail and basic accuracy was disappointing. I would not recommend this location. read more

So when I got home and started to eat it, I looked and there was this long thing in the soup. I called the manager and told him what l found in the soup. I took it back for a refund. I haven't been to a Panera Bread for a while, and I've been a fool to miss out. I love the coffee, the fresh baked goods, the changing menu, and the relaxing ambiance. I stopped in around 4 for a cup of coffee. After considering the guilty pleasures of their baked goods, I spotted a new entry on the menu - Mediterranean Chicken Salad. I'm glad I went for it; it was just what I wanted. I ordered a 1/2 portion, which was very generous (see pic), and full of tender chicken. Ordering was fast and easy, and I wheeled over to the pick-up area. (I'm a paraplegic.). I didn't expect any table service, and was happily waiting when the Panera team member smiled and said she'd be pleased to bring it to me. This embodied the attitude of the staff - pleasant and helpful, making Panera such an easy place to patronize. I thoroughly enjoyed my salad, the Mediterranean spin was a deft and tasty touch, with just the right amount of dressing. I'm lucky I had the time because I spent nearly 2 hours hanging out, grabbing a free drink refill, and reading a book I brought. I have never had a problem with any Panera location. I'm shocked that this location has such a low rating. Most of the reviews seem to be from a long time ago. Maybe they've changed since then. I just started coming to this Summerville location about a year ago now. Never any issues and I've been here numerous times. Today, I decided to roll up to Panera around 3pm. I came inside to see no one was in line in front of me. I thought about what I wanted whilst looking at the menu. The cashier patiently waited on me to make my decision. I made up my mind and told her I want a Strawberry Poppyseed Salad. It said it is in season. Cool. I ordered it with a baguette. This comes with the salad. You have a choice of sides but I love my bread. The baguette is like a piece of French bread. Good. I also ordered a drink and a chocolate croissant for later. The pastry only costs $.99 when you buy an entree. The salad was so good. It had lettuce of course, plus it was covered in strawberries, blueberries, mandarin oranges, pecans, pineapple pieces, and chicken. This is a very fruity and sweet salad. Just how I like it. The pineapples were sliced thin and large, not like the tidbits in a can. I think Panera is a good place to come eat by yourself. It's got coffee shop vibes, with a better selection of food. There were several other people here today eating by themselves. They have lots of small tables. They also have random walls in the middle of the restaurant, blocking your view of everyone there. So you feel like you're in a small, intimate area with just a couple other people. Many people come here and work on their tablet or laptop. Panera offers free wifi to their customers. Overall, I really like Panera. Their food is good and seems healthy. The service is always pretty quick and efficient. I like how you can chill here for an hour or so without anyone trying to kick you out. It's a great place to eat and / or work. It's also a good place to meet up with people over lunch and talk! Try this place out if you haven't already. Or if it's been awhile, try it again!!! read more

It has been awhile since I've been to a Panera. Their quality is just okay and not what it used to be. Of these fast casual restaurant's, I prefer Zoe's Kitchen. Since there isn't one of those on this side of town, we stopped at Panera - I would have preferred Chicken Salad Chick across the street, but they are closed on Sunday's. At any rate, I got the summer strawberry salad. It has overall good flavor, but it was doused in dressing, like swimming in a pool of dressing. Absolutely too much, so I didn't eat much of it. Next time, I would get it on the side. The other thing is that it is on a bed of iceburg lettuce - come on, use a little bit better quality salad. The fruit was at least good. I do enjoy their mac and cheese, but I wish it were served warmer, it's usually not very warm - which is consistent at any Panera location. read more

Dont waste your time. We will never go back. Placed my order and paid the bill. We were asked to pull up and someone would bring our order out. We sat there for over 40 minutes waiting. No one ever came out so I backed up to the drive through window. Waited there another 5-6 minutes as the cashier ignored me sitting there. Also watched another employee with no gloves on blow his nose. By this time I was not going to eat this food and wait any longer for it. I was disgusted. So pulled around the front and went inside. I asked for a refund. The manager tried to refund my card and then shows me the screen that I would need to call 855-372-6372 to have them do it. Spent 27 minutes on the phone with customer service and they told me I would have to wait for a return call and it would be anywhere from 3-5 days. I contacted my bank told them what happened and stopped payment. I will never again visit another Panera Bread again. Dropped by to purchase a sandwich and a bowl of Mac and cheese for my pregnant wife on Sunday 10/26. There was a short line but the young lady behind the counter was very professional. After ordering the items "to go," I continued to the seating area to witness 5-6 people standing and waiting for their orders. Found a seat in the disheveled dining room containing about 15-20 people in various stages of their meals. It took 35 minutes to receive my order. When it was complete, it was tossed up on to the counter with no acknowledgment of the excessive wait time or an apology. I have tried this location three times in the past 2 months and it always is met with dissatisfaction. Once they were out of Mac and cheese for my wife, the second time the Mac was cold when we arrived to pick it up and now this instance of poor management and execution has sealed its fate. Panera Bread has always been a go-to for my family for a quick, belly-warming meal. Unfortunately, many locations are unkempt and unpleasant i.e. employees rude / dismissive, dirty and sticky surfaces, food not prepared with even a hint of concern for patrons, drink machines neglected, etc. (always comes down to management). However, this location was the epitome of what Panera Bread should want to present! It was certainly a location i would frequent if we lived in the area. It was clean and inviting, the representatives were pleasant and created an enjoyable & friendly atmosphere. There was an obvious team-vibe going on between them & it absolutely had a positive impact on the restaurant's functionality & presentation. Well this location is ONLY open for pick up/take out orders. FYI I ordered the Fiji Apple Salad. It was ok, Panera sort of skimped on the grilled chicken and a bit more blue cheese crumbles would have been nice but the little freeze dried apple slices were cute and pretty good, it was low in calorie (280) according the Panera website and the cost was a little over $7.00. Overall it was the half salad and if you have a large appetite or prefer a salad with lots of chicken or protein it might not be for you. The staff seemed pleasant considering the current pandemic. We usually love Panera, but the Summerville location is just plain awful. We've been 3 times and every time they've had to remake something. Forgot the chicken on a sandwich, forgot the cold brew in an almond milk cold brew(?). Bagels are stale and small. Service is unfriendly. You know, I have been coming to this location for awhile and I've never experienced as terrible of service as I did today. While the food was good, I was aggravated throughout the entire experience. When I drove up, the woman on the speaker just said "order when you're ready." Not quite the greeting I'm used to, but ok. Well, I started ordering. I asked for my sandwich, "ok is that all?" Seriously the worst customer service. The people are rude, not helpful and have no sense of respect for others times. We went to this Panera last night and when we walked in the girl behind the counter did not look up at us while writing something. I said to my bf "oh good there's one bread bowl left" and looked to the cashier to order. In the four minutes it took for her to look up, someone else took the bread bowl. She didn't even say sorry just stood and stared. My bf got the pepperoni flat bread pizza and it tasted like chemicals. Really inedible. I've been to this location before and it's always terrible. I once went through the drive through and asked for a bagel with cream cheese with sliced tomato on it. You'd think I asked them to donate an organ on the side of my bagel with the confusion and indignation they presented with. I also went once and needed a receipt and they said "our machine doesn't work. Most people don't want them". Another time I was very sick and wanted soup and asked for an extra baguette. They put this whole (Disgustingly dry) Sourdough loaf in my bag and charged me $15 for it. Yes I should have noticed but i was getting w couple things and wasn't feeling well. An extra baguette - shouldn't be so hard. Every time I go through the drive through they act like they don't know what I'm doing there and make me tell them what I ordered bc they don't have a working system to keep this stuff straight. I ordered a strawberry banana smoothie at both visits, one time I was told they were out of bananas the next time I was told they were out of Greek yogurt. They had to go through the drive through twice, after the servers handed each item was one by one with time lapse. They still didn't give my "starry". This is the absolute worst experience we've EVER had at a Panera Bread! My husband and I received a gift card for our anniversary from our young daughter. We went the next day for lunch as she was so excited for us to use our gift from her. We decided to grab her something as well as she's wanted to try their Mac and cheese sandwich for some time since we've raved about it from other locations....Seriously!!!??? Disappointment is an understatement! She made us rip apart our sandwiches which were just as awfully prepared. $40 for 3 crappy a$$ sandwiches half the size as usual, stale bread, coffee drinks (which were just ok), and a heartbroken daughter. She felt like her gift to us was ruined. It's been almost a month and she STILL feels terrible about it. Got this app just to review this place. Second awful experience I've had here. I brought my daughter in for dinner tonight, the service was very slow and every table was dirty. I went back up to the register for a baguette and there was nobody behind the counter but three employees were crowded around a table. While I was waiting, another customer had to get on to them for having inappropriate conversations in front of their daughter. Of course they laughed about it as soon as she left. We've been going to this Panera since it opened but in the last couple years their bagels prices have continued to increase while their bagels have gotten smaller. By smaller I mean their 5" bagels have anywhere from 2" to 3 1/2" holes making the actual surface of the bagel basically useless for a sandwich or spreading anything on it. The ones I purchased today have a slightly smaller hole than they have been. I've had a bag of a dozen where the holes have been so bad I can wear the bagels as bracelets!!! Not worth the money anymore. I mentioned it while in the store once already several months ago and was told they will speak to the baker but it keeps happening. This Panera Bread location is terrible! I debated whether to go today as I always have other choices. I caved and decided to go through the drive thru. Two cars in front of me it took 20 minutes. When I got to the window the guy apologized that they were now out of part of my order. He did offer to replace with alternative options however I declined. I got the other item and he said have a nice day. I responded that I needed my drink. Then he handed it to me barely filled and drink all over the cup And lid. So annoying and every time I go I have a terrible experience and I'm over it. Panera is one of my favorite places BUT not any more. Done. Over it. Cannot handle half sloppy work.
