I frequent this location for about a month once a year when my children swim at the aquatic center for the high school season. I understand help is hard to find these days but... Few things to consider. It's posted opening at 6am on Saturday, doors locked until 7am. No self-serve cups for your ultimate sip club members. If you don't trust someone subscribing to your service then don't offer it. I like the no-interaction self-serve so I don't have to deal with the indifferent wait staff at this location. Creamer is never out and at this point, I'm not even sure the coffee is brewed fresh considering what I tasted today. Bread toasts and different rates so don't set it to one size fits all and obliterate your skinny bagels. An open kitchen is a horrible design if your cooks are making cat noises, saying many curse words, and talking about being poor, food stamps, and EBT cards. Restrooms are rarely clean. read more

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Worst service ever today. I'd been sick with the flu & we were getting better..so my husband went to pick up lunch I ordered to pick up through the app. The soup did not come with any side as had ordered the bread. They sat the iced cookie I ordered for my husband in between the soup and a hot sandwich so that when he got it home the blue icing had melted all over our food. He was told to make his own sweet tea when he came to pick up the food..but the tea tasted off & chemically, so he threw it out. Similarly, I had ordered a lavendar lemonade which literally tasted like water with no favoring, which I threw away as well. I called up tell the manager about this, having even tipped through the app prior to picking up. He sounded like a young guy & when I told him all this information the only thing he said was that it's customary for pickup orders to have the customer make their own tea. I asked for a refund of the drinks and the cookie. He said it's policy they cannot refund anything over the phone (even though I have all my information) and that next time I eat there he'll give me a free cookie. I'm not interested in ever eating there again after this & told him if this was the only resolution that I would call the corporate office, which he said, "go ahead!" Croissants were very small for the price --I've always loved them in the past. I believe a lot of people are sleeping on Panera. I really don't think they know how much they have to offer. They have a great selection of meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a whole assortment of items for breakfast such as pastries, sandwiches, wraps, and souffles. My go to are the Four Cheese Souffle and the Chipotle Chicken Scrambled Egg & Avocado Wrap. Oh, they're so good! Occasionally, I'll add the pecan braid or a bagel. They used to have a baker's dozen special on Tuesdays and I wish they would bring this back. The Panera in Rock Hill still offers it, so I'm hoping our local ones will start back...hint hint. For lunch and dinner, you could dine on a salad, warm bowls, flat breads, soups, or sandwiches. The Baja Bowl w/Chicken is so good. It's made with cilantro lime rice and quinoa, chicken, black beans, corn salsa, tomatoes, avocado, feta cheese and Greek yogurt. I top it off with some salsa verde and I always ask for extra. Extra on the Greek yogurt as well. You can also get this without the chicken which is what I do for my son who is pescatarian. They also have a Mediterranean warm bowl and a teriyaki warm bowl. There are many sandwiches to choose from like a simple tuna sandwich to a Napa almond chicken salad sandwich. Veggie options available as well. I don't want to say vegan because I haven't dived that far in research to find out. Have you tried their smoothies? Oh my gosh, it's like I'm in a fruity heaven. They even have a cold brew variety. With the warmer weather you may want to try their teas to quench your thirst. They have a passion papaya green tea, plum Ginger hibiscus tea prickly pear hibiscus fresca ... don't they sound refreshing! There is more to offer in every aspect of their menu, but I'll allow you to explore that for yourself. Dont waste your time. We will never go back. Placed my order and paid the bill. We were asked to pull up and someone would bring our order out. We sat there for over 40 minutes waiting. No one ever came out so I backed up to the drive through window. Waited there another 5-6 minutes as the cashier ignored me sitting there. Also watched another employee with no gloves on blow his nose. By this time I was not going to eat this food and wait any longer for it. I was disgusted. So pulled around the front and went inside. I asked for a refund. The manager tried to refund my card and then shows me the screen that I would need to call 855-372-6372 to have them do it. Spent 27 minutes on the phone with customer service and they told me I would have to wait for a return call and it would be anywhere from 3-5 days. I contacted my bank told them what happened and stopped payment. I will never again visit another Panera Bread again. They customer service is awful and the hygiene of employees is disgusting. read more

I ordered soup with bread (comes free with the soup). My girlfriend also ordered soup but didn't want the bread so I said "I will take her bread" when we ordered at the counter. Jalayna, at the counter was very nice and joked with us at the order counter At the pickup counter the server was less than cordial when my girlfriend picked up the order. She put croutons in her soup and my girlfriend politely ask the she wanted no croutons. Her Attitude was sharp and she grumbled under her breath Then she did not serve any bread with the order. She grumbled "We are out of bread." I she had a better attitude, I may have overlooked this little faux pas. But the name of the place is Panera bread. So i rolled my wheelchair over to her and asked if the place is called Panera Bread and they had loaves of bread at the front order counter, why is there no bread? She grumbled under her breath "I don't have to put up with this ". And she that they were out of bread so we got potato chips. I talked to her manager and he was able to accommodate my bread request You would think that those who chose to work in the hospitality business would want to learn how to be cordial and helpful with difficult customers. Not cause regular happy customers to turn difficult That's not her is it the one that's there now at the counters are. I must commend Kevin the manager on the way he responded to the situation. I'll review this location again after a while, since they just opened, but for now they are perfect. The restaurant offers tablets to order your meal at, as well as a counter with cashiers. This helped speed up our ordering. The cups are all lined up at the tablets, so you just grab the one you paid for and love onto the drink station. They offer the usual soda options, including caffeine free diet Pepsi!, fresh tea options and a coffee bar. The frozen or specially drinks are made behind the counter. The food was hot and delicious. The bread tasted like it had just come out of the oven. So good! The store is very clean and nicely organized. They have a patio outside with plenty of seating. My 5 year old and I went this weekend for a Greek salad and a cookie, our go-to order from our go-to place. We pick up food from this location ALL the time on the way home from school. However, I never want to go back to there after the rude and disrespectful male teenager working the driver-thru and his sarcastic, even more rude and disrespectful female teenage "team lead" wouldn't give me their names and threatened to call the cops on me when I asked to speak to a supervisor about their behavior. I took my food, which was probably tampered with, and left with my son crying, "Mommy, are you really going to jail?!" Absolutely inexcusable!! I know that hiring teenagers is necessary for business but not at the expense of losing excellent customers and tarnishing Panera's image. If these teenagers can't be trusted to work without an adult present, why are they allowed to work there at all?! I had no choice but to call corporate because these kids wouldn't tell me their manager's name. Corporate apologized and offered a gift card, but they shouldn't have to do that. So if you are considering picking up a quick bite in the am like a plain bagel, don't go to Panera on Dorchester Rd. 4 out of 5 times my husband has taken me, no one acknowledged our presence at the drive through although we yelled "Hello" several times. I met a friend here for lunch. It was my first time visiting this location. The restaurant was very clean. There wasn't anyone around when we first walked in so we were unsure if we were supposed to order at the kiosks or with a human. A human eventually came out and we ordered with her. My sandwich was pretty good but with all the small chunks of chicken, it was a mess- falling out everywhere. My friend enjoyed all her food. I mean yeah there was bits and pieces of what looked like tuna but there really wasn't any. Wasn't so great. I have had a bad experience with Panera once but thought the location possibly had to do work it. Well, gave it another shot at a new location and I should've left the moment I walked in but my fiancée wanted us to give this new spot since it's a brand new opening site a try. We walked in first thing that hit me was the smell! It smelled like old musky moth balls I can't even explain it- it just hit you. We ordered at the kiosk got our drinks and sat down. When our food was ready my fiancée noticed his bread was grabes to cut not cut with a knife and it was stiff as a board! He ended up tossing it. The soup for him was nice and hot the salad he didn't care for as the carrots that were in it were soggy. My sandwich and soup were good, no complaints about my portion of food however my fiancée and I will not be returning to this Panera. It just seems like even a new location and a new Panera opening up you would think new owner since it's a franchise they'd keep up better representation for a restaurant. The food was good, pretty presentation, and tasted good. Prices were slightly higher than most and portions were a little smaller than most. I wasn't disappointed and didn't feel cheated, but not sure it'd be a go-to place for me. The place was clean and quiet and staff was OK. Panera Bread on Dorchester Road in Summerville is one of my favorite places to go for soups and sandwiches when I am in this area. They make everything very easy from ordering to receiving your food. First to review??? Well am honored and have been a happy Panera patron since oh.... 2004 ish? Loyalty Club member for years as well.... over the years Panera has stayed up with the trends (some working for them others phased out) but still love my original go-to tried &trues. The Pick 2 Combo, bread bowls, chocolate croissants, and the Asiago Cheese and Cinnamon Crunch bagels. Got two Cinnamons and three Asiagos yesterday with a gift card. I've fully embraced and love the carbs when having a activity packed day. Add some protein, and you've got your fuel. Still on the fence about adding the calorie count to everything... guess it can help not over indulge? I'd be willing to bet though, if it's that time of the month and the craving for soup in a bread bowl hits, the mind will consciously black out all that does not sooth the pains of the week. Have tried and really enjoyed the Steak and Arugula Sandwich, nothing else new that's jumping out. Fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. I called on Thursday morning to order several box lunches. Given the current state of affairs with Covid-19 our in house dinning facility is closed. I was thinking of ordering the day prior, however held off. I spoke with a member of management who truly saved the day! We created a beautiful box with Greek Salad, delicious turkey sandwich on the best bread I've eaten since leaving New York City. I selected their Oatmeal cookies with berries & Bag Chips. While food was hot, we ordered a you pick two with broccoli cheddar soup and Mac and cheese and one large Mac n cheese broccoli cheddar. For the price of Panera, and how dead it was, it took over 8 or 9 minutes to get our food, and then we got a you pick two with two Mac n cheeses (which doesn't make much sense?) and a large broccoli cheddar soup. When I told them the mistake they told me no, that's what the receipt says. Which fine, but you should read back the order before paying or let people see the order on the screen before paying. This is the second time we have gotten a very rude cashier in the drive thru. I was barked at to "park at curbside pickup," and as we have only been through this drive thru once before and there are multiple entrances and parking areas around the building, I didn't know where the curbside pickup stalls were. I asked where they were located and the cashier rolled her eyes. They also take forever to get food out. I ordered two half sandwiches, two orders of mac and cheese and a half salad. We waited over 20 minutes and ended up having to go in to find out what was going on with our food. They "couldn't find the car," even though we were parked in the stall closest to the door. read more
