Checked out this new restaurant and enjoyed ourselves. Draft list is very weak. Started with the cheese curds and ordered the garlic Parmesan wings and clam pizza Wings were absolutely delicious, cooked well and full of flavor. They were even good reheated the 2nd day in the air fryer. Clam pizza was amazing. Very different than anything I've ever tried before. Being from the south I've never had CT style pizza so didn't know what to expect. Decor is nice but all the exposed wiring from the TVs is quite an eyesore. Cleanup the wiring and the experience will be much improved. I would recommend to try this restaurant and I will definitely be back for more wings and a different pizza. read more

Visited for lunch over the weekend. I wasn't sure what to expect honestly. I feel like some work could definitely be done interior wise. There is exposed wire all over the restaurant and equipment that is not being used. We walked in and seated ourselves and we were not greeted, not a big deal. Our waitress came over and did not have a mask on for these crazy COVID times. We asked for a drink menu since you cannot have pizza without beer. The drafts on the menu were out. I asked what the taps were replaced with and she had to find out but could not tell me what kind of beers they were just the beer company. ‍ I ended up with a coffee beer but no idea what it was called. It was good though! We ordered the cheese curds and they came out hot and quick. We were the only ones in there which was kind of weird. We also ordered the small clam pie and small order of parmesan garlic wings. The wings had really good flavor. The pizza was good as well but a little overcooked for my liking. The bathroom I visited needed some attention as well as far as housekeeping. They seem to have some good specials during the week. read more

A hot mess has come to Summerville. So many issues. We were seated, with only one other table occupied. The owners child is running around the restaurant, no mask, in the kitchen, at the bar (so was her drink cup), touching all of the lids for cups, and at our table when her mom took our order. I understand if you have to bring your child to work, but she shouldn't have been running around. Ordered the first beer and was brought the wrong one. Second choice was out. The third choice is brought and it tastes like hose water. We know the brewer of this local beer so we definitely know something is off, but we let it go because they are new and maybe haven't gotten their lines right. We look into the kitchen and there's (who we assume is) the owner, filling his drink with no mask. Delivery driver comes back, walks into kitchen, no mask.... while drinking her drink before sitting it in the kitchen. The bearded pizza maker? Not only doesn't he have on a mask or any type of gloves, but no beard guard. Kitchen assistant? No mask. The owner proceeded to bring our pizza to us without any mask. When we questioned why he wasn't wearing a mask his response was that he was just helping out. We asked for the check and decided to leave. He was visibly angry as he took his child and left, without bringing us the check. The price for this disaster and two 1/4 drank draught beers and a 1/2 eaten small salad? $28.00. They took the pizza back to the kitchen and threw it in the trash, but our receipt shows it was comped. No apologies or explanations. Just acted like we were stupid for questioning the hygiene of the place. We weren't expecting greatness, but this was absurd. If you're COVID weary, this definitely isn't the place for you. read more

We are huge fans of Italian bistro in Summerville and heard from Several neighbors that this pizza place rivaled strongly that establishment with vim and vigor. They were out of lemons, they have 6 salads on the menu and only had ingredients for the Caesar salad. I wanted a Cobb salad that request was denied. The pizza crust itself was thin (which is fine) however the sauce on the pizza was watered down to the level where the cheese slid off every slice without any effort. I will say the sauces overall flavor was nice but the texture reminded me of prego with excess water. The crust was also over cooked on top. Not a fan. read more

Being from Connecticut we were very excited to see a New Haven style pizza here in the Low Country. As you can guess from the one star rating, it failed on all accounts. One, it took over an hour to get our pizza. Two, they made it wrong. Three, we drove 45 minutes to get there. Four, $30.00 for a pile of garbage. And five, the worst of it all, it was a soggy, tasteless pile of mush. Do they even know what New Haven pizza is??????? Horrible experience and a POOR excuse for New Haven pizza. This place deserves 5 stars and then some! Came in and seated ourselves. Noticed it was only 1 gentleman working doing everything so we patiently waiting... no complaints as people need to get a grip if they're complaining about not being acknowledged or "greeted". Guy working was SUPER nice and came to us as soon as he was done helping other patrons before us! We had to wait a little because he was alone but IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!! We got cheese curds, pizza, pizzini, and calzone. ALL was mouth watering good! Calzone is what I ordered and It was delicious! Ordered a big Jack large about 30 bucks. Has to be hands-down the worst pizza. For the money the toppings were sparse. And the crust was ridiculously chewy to the point where it felt like you were trying to eat cardboard. Went here as a recommendation from a friend. I think I need to find new friends. So came here cause of the new haven style pizza. Ordered a small cheese which is huge. The pizza is very good little flop but overall great taste. Staff was super friendly. Will be back to try the wings. My only complaint is the lights. Sitting in the booth you are blinded by the brightest mercury light ever if your light sensitive like my bf it will give you a migraine. The bathrooms are operating room bright as well i work in one so thats why the comparison. Overall i liked the pizza was a good thin pizza. When Wicked Crust opened their pies were amazing! I couldn't stop bragging about them and was here at least once or twice a week. Being from New Haven and loving pizza their pies brought home to me. For three months I have been noticing they have been going down hill. So bad I thought they fired their cook and changed recipes. I reached out to them to ask about it and got a rude response. Very possibly the best New York style pizza in Summerville. IMHO, most pizza in the area is too salty. Wicked Crust combines the perfect amount of seasoning to make sure you can taste all of the ingredients. They have some great lunch specials and their slices are cooked to perfection. No burnt crust and uncooked toppings. The prices are more than fair and the staff is friendly and helpful. They're new to Trolley Rd so stop by and show your support. We need to keep these guys around! read more

Having been to new haven and experienced the top places there... modern...sally's appiz and frank Pepe's I was hoping for the best especially since there was a clam pizza ... pepe's clam pie has been named best pizza in America many times ... Unfortunately my expectations were not met. Let's start with the crust very close to the Texture of a New Havin Pizza lack a little depth and flavor though perhaps A touch more salt in the dough Would help it out. It was cooked it was thin and it was crisp which are all good things. Now the most disappointing part is advertised as fresh clams minced unfortunately I watch the guy behind the bar open up a Can of minced clams...The pizza cost me just under $30 and I would be willing to pay that if they were fresh clams unfortunately they weren't as far as Loakal Pizza goes it was pretty good I'll give it a 3 1/2 star rating read more

Bottom of pizza was slightly burnt and very flimsy. Crust is too chewy and lacks flavor. Not worth the price paid.

So first try in delivery my pizzas were folded in half in the box. Called the store, the manager was so nice I decided to give them another try. Next order, pizza was burnt on the outside edges and dough in the middle. Third order the girl on the phone was just so rude I canceled my order. Picked up our large pizza & when we opened the box, it not only looked burnt but tasted burnt. My husband took it back to the store & was told "that's how they cook their pizza ". I wasn't impressed. How hard is it ti make a small margarita pizza and add one topping...mushrooms, for something like $2.70 a topping. I get the extra price but I had a total of 8 mushrooms. Thankfully I had a can of them at home and fixed it up. I feel like when you ask for a topping you should get enough of them that you don't have to squint to see them. read more
