Noticed Dim Sum Mania when shopping at the Asian grocery store near by, went in and was seated right away. It was clean and quiet inside. The menu items are all authentic Chinese dishes a on par with what you get at Chinatown. We ordered salt and pepper chicken and steamed dumplings and spicy dumplings for appetizers, all taste great. Also had the beef he feng and it's pretty delicious as well. Nice Chinese red at the suburb.

I miss the massive dim sum restaurants I used to frequent. The 800 seat Jin Fong in NY. Oriental Pearl in Atlanta. Point to what you want when the carts come by, sometimes, with a language barrier, not knowing what it is you pointed to. It's a fun way to eat! Dim Sum Mania isn't fun. But it's good. And despite a name that sounds Americanized, there are always Asian patrons, likely there to shop in the neighboring Hung Vuong. We're in the habit of ordering two types of dim sum, and one entree. We duplicated the crystal shrimp dumplings we ordered last time, and tried Shanghai pork soup dumplings. (The soup dumplings were better than what I had at Joe's Shanghai in NY, a restaurant known for their soup dumplings.) I was bowled over by today's eggplant with garlic sauce. It could've been a bit spicier -- I added chili and soy sauce -- but other than that .... With a variety of vegetables and the eggplant cooked perfectly, I was delighted!

Very comfy and modern inside the restaurant. We came on a rainy weekday afternoon, so there weren't a lot of guests yet. By the time we left, the early dinner rush was getting in the swing. Overall, it was a very cozy experience. It had been a while since I've personally had dim sum, so it was very nostalgic ordering things like soup dumplings, crystal shrimp dumplings, and egg tarts. I highly recommend the radish cake -- we demolished it before I could take a photo, but it was so good! Soft and savory on the inside, crispy and hot on the outside. Just like the scallion pancakes too. If you're in the mood for some dim sum in the area, definitely give this place a try!

I dined here for the first time last night with 3 other adults. The inside of the restaurant was hip and clean, though on the warm side. I was sweating pretty much the entire time, which was very uncomfortable and made me want to leave...but I really didn't want to leave because the food was so yummy! We ordered a variety of dumplings and buns, scallion pancakes, and beef Chow Ho Fun (wide noodles) to share, and didn't leave a scrap. I wish I could've tried everything on the menu! The sauces are on the table (side note: the dumpling sauce bottle was sticky...) so you can use what and how much you want. Everything was hot and fresh and delicious! The noodles and soup dumplings were probably my favorites. We didn't get any drinks or dessert. The service was good overall, though we did have to ask for water refills. The food came out quickly and they did a great job clearing empty plates without making us feel rushed. The gentleman who took our order gave us some recommendations and didn't mind leaving a menu with us so we could keep ordering stuff to try. This is a fun place to visit with friends, and I would definitely welcome the opportunity to go back another time!

A pleasant surprise. This byob offers an excellent selection of dim sum and traditional Chinese food. The dim was good - not crazy good, but a solid 8. We added a couple of entrees - the green beans with pork and the rice cakes. Both were really outstanding. The green beans were cooked just right - and served with pork. The rice cakes were a new one for me - where have they been all my life? They're made from the same dough as Mochi is - but sliced and fried up with mushrooms in a sauce that was unbelievably good. Just wow.... A return visit is most definitely in the cards.

Dumplings are fine as they are usually pre-made, but the wonton soup and dry pot chicken are way too salty, as if the salt jar was tipped over and all the salt fell into the dishes. It's unacceptably salty. Putting the unhealthy sodium level aside, it's a decent dim sum place. Not super authentic but acceptable.

Food was very delicious! We had some spicy chicken, beef chow fun and egg plant in garlic sauce. They are flavorful and delicious! Service was quick and attentive. Place is clean and cozy! Will definitely be back again

My last review was for takeout and it was already at 4 stars! My coworkers and I brought some guests from out of town for an early dinner one weekday evening. They had our tables ready to go. The staff answered all our questions and double checked that our gluten intolerant coworker was able to eat certain dishes for us. A lot of the items on the menu are gluten free so she was very happy she could eat almost everything we ate! The food was fresh and tasted amazing. We got everything from crab and pork soup dumplings to salt and pepper seafood. Tom's fried rice is a favorite among the group and the beef and broccoli was one of the best I've had in a long time. I can't hype this place up enough! I had to come back and up my rating to 5/5 stars!

I ordered 3 dishes for take out: mapo tofu with no pork, general tsos tofu, and dry hot pot vegetable. My friends and I really enjoyed the dishes. It was greasy in the right ways, and kicked our tasted buds with some spice. At that time, we were raving so positively about the meal. However, three out of the four of us had bathroom problems the next morning. I won't indulge you in the details, but it was a disappointment because I was so excited to show my friends some good Chinese food. Unfortunately, our stomached said otherwise.

My family and friends got together after a hike and had lunch here. I allowed them to order all the food so I don't actually remember what these dishes were called but everything was delicious. They have high chairs for kids and there seemed to be quite a few families so they must be very accommodating towards the kids. The food came out quickly and we left happy and full. I would certainly recommend another visit.

Jin Ding Restaurant is a treasure!…read more Jin Ding restaurant is located at the intersection of Haverford Road and Conestoga Road in Bryn Mawr. In an area with several good Chinese restaurants, it makes its own unique contribution. The interior has been redone and refreshed. There is a large dining area both with booths and tables. They also have rooms for larger gatherings, with a varied catering menu available. There is more than sufficient on-site parking, which is important for a Bryn Mawr restaurant. Service is prompt and pleasant. The restaurant offers a great range of choices. When I went there this weekend, our party started with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, which was a wonderful accompaniment to the vegetable spring rolls and dumplings which the other diners ordered. I got the minced chicken and corn soup. I had never had it before because I shied away from any soup that included cream in it. I must tell you that there was only enough in it to give the soup a heft it would not have otherwise had. As for entrees, my wife loved her crispy sesame shrimp, and I tried-for the first time- the eggplant with garlic sauce, Chinese eggplant, in my opinion, tastes different from other eggplant dishes because it is not fried and instead is bathed in the special sauce of Jin Ding. The desserts looked wonderful, but none of us had room for the desserts. The restaurant is located on the site of a previous Chinese restaurant which, at one time, was prominent not only for excellence, but also for its innovative approaches to Chinese cuisine. For various reasons, it closed. While it may sound strange to say, I truly believe that people did not begin to go to the new restaurant only because it would have felt like violating the gravesite of the previous business. Fortunately, that feeling. seems now to have ended. Jin Ding has delivered a quality dining experience every time I have gone there over several years. I commend it to you.

(Note: if you only want smaller serving of their great, thick noodles, order $4 add-on as a side in place of rice with regular dish.) I always have leftovers to enjoy at home. Dumpling orders are large and shareable. (Always 6 or 8 pieces.) My fave when dining in is amazingly delicious and huge Fish Fillet in Hot and Sour Cabbage Broth. (That's best with rice side to help absorb broth.) So good and healthful to balance the dough density of whatever dumplings you might also order -- they're all great. When getting order to go (or delivered) I like Kung Pao Chicken; it travels well. Order added green veggie dish for sharing -- I lean toward Chinese Broccoli; you'll really want the balance with the delicious dumpling and noodle dishes. Large cocktail menu -- Lychee Martini is so refreshing. Important: cash only for dining in. There's an ATM by their front door. Takeout and delivery accepts credit cards. Most reasonably priced parking nearby (if you don't score a limited street spot) is ParkAmerica at 1040 Race St a few doors down. Both felt like a warm hug. The scallion pancake w beef was tasty but it was overwhelmed by too much hoisin sauce + the pancake was a little greasy. The black sesame mochi and veggie soup dumplings were criminal. We forgave the dessert and terrible veggie soup dumplings and returned for a second visit to try more items so the new items we tried were: - chicken udon noodles (stir fry) - cucumber salad Both were mediocre and not worth getting. Cucumber salad lacked flavor. Udon noodles were plain and flavor was minimal. I would return for the beef noodle soup, the broth was rich yet light. The beef was so tender it melted in your mouth. If you have a beef soup craving this will hit the spot. Service was quick and consistent.
