Someone who used to work at Panera growing up, we were never allowed food to get out that late. 5-7 minutes tops!! It's not that complicated. I just ordered Asian Sesame Chicken Salad. Now I am staring at a bowl filled with dry lettuce and chicken strips with no dressing whatsoever. Not on the salad. Nothing on the side. I logged in to try a second order just to check if I was supposed to select a dressing. Nope. They just don't want me to have lunch today. Ordered some souffle and sandwiches. 3 Bacon and spinach soufflé's and 3 Asiago sausage sandwiches. The employee working the counter informed us that it would be a 10 minute wait on 2 of the soufflés. First, what the heck? Why not just make all 3 fresh for us? Then he offered (2) 4 cheese soufflés in substitution. We accepted the offer as we were hungry. The food then proceeded to take about 15 minutes to arrive. this is a new location in West Bend, and they really missed the mark! New construction, it's Bright, industrial, and you sit right next to everybody! The old place had a great atmosphere, and was fun to go to. I don't think we will be frequent visitors at this new location. Expensive! I paid $45 for a half sandwich, 2 half salads, a cup of soup and a bear claw. It was a to go order. They gave us one fork. No second fork, spoon or napkin. No butter for the bread. Decided to try to drive through, an exciting new feature I thought, I was wrong. I was told to pull up to the drive-through parking spot and proceeded to sit there for 15 minutes while I waited for my food. I ended up even having to call the restaurant to make sure my food was still coming. Drive-through's are supposed to be quicker and more efficient. Stopped in for a 1st. time to try it & pick up lunch. Ordered a Chicken Avocado Melt & broccoli cheese soup to go. When I got home & opened the sandwich there was about 1 tablespoon of chicken CRUMBS - didn't even look like chicken on 1/2 of the bread & nothing on the other side. The melted cheese was barely on 1/2 the bread hanging over the side. Basically it was just bread not much inside. The only thing good was the soup. Very old style Panera. Very run down, customer service is abysmal, and very slow. They need to update, get a new GM and retain the staff.

So i came into this Panera location, for the first time ever on my way to work. It was about 7pm. They do not seem to have anyone working the registers here. I stood there for a couple minutes and was never greeted in any way shape or form. I ultimately placed my order on the self service kiosk. The self service kiosk clearly stated that my drink cup would be on the table with my order. Buzzer goes off and i bring the buzzer up, again not greeted in any way shape or form... only comment from the employee at that counter was to tell me i placed the pager in the wrong spot and i needed to put in a bin...... asked where i get my soda cup from at that point and am promptly handed the wrong size cup.. and when i complained he essentially just gave me a dumbfounded stare and another female employee needed to jump in and fix it..... i actually rated this 2 stars at the beginning of typing this but now am lowering it to 1 because as i sit here in the restaurant finishing my meal another customer came in only to be told they were closed all while fully admitting they forgot to lock the doors and that some of the signs were still showing the wrong hours.... Come on guys wake up and get with the fricking program here. Apprently being closed for dine in for a year due to the pandemic means all basic customer skills are gone. I love panera. I first found out about them in Green Bay. A handful are sprinkled throughout Milwaukee and I've probably been to all of them. This one is sunnier inside as two walls of the shop are mostly windows. Nice stopping in here after class to correct papers and read over lunch. Very busy over the noon hour on a weekday but panera usually is. I love their mac n cheese since it's so zesty, but that dish is pricey. It's about $8 for one bowl, fountain drink, and baguette. Little ridiculous. Usually i love their soup in a bread bowl. Recently i looked up the calories in that and it can be over 1,000! Wish there were more low fat options. Regardless i love soup and theirs is always excellent. Top faves are clam chowder (which is a fairly rare offering), lemon chicken orzo (how can they trick me into eating the spinach in this? I hate spinach but this is delish! - only a summer offer), chicken and wild rice, and chicken noodle. I've heard the chili is also good but i'm not a chili girl. Anyway, seating area is nice and clean. Staff friendly but could have asked for my card just in case i was forgetting. Luckily i remembered. Food good - still the best thing here is the variety of soups. read more

I've always enjoyed coming here especially during my college years. The staff members got to know me well & vice-versa. However, I've always thought the food prices were on the higher side with a lackluster portion. As someone who was in the food service industry for many years, I shouldn't have to bus & wipe my own tables. It doesn't even take 5 mins. to clear & wipe down a booth well. Also, the customers shouldn't have to remind staff that the drinks are running out. I don't recommend going here near closing time because some teenage employee will inconsiderately start vacuuming around your area without asking you first if it's okay. On the plus side, the food is healthy & delicious. I'd recommend the salads (my fave's the Chicken Cobb Avocado) & the soups. I really dig the Lemon Chicken Orzo & the summer-exclusive Summer Corn Chowder! The bagels are great too, such as the French Toast Bagel paired with the Cinnamon Hazelnut cream cheese. read more

I don't know why I always come here, because it is consistently dirty. It is a rarity to receive silverware or a mug for coffee that doesn't have food stuck on it. It is even rarer to find a table that has been cleaned. If you use the women's restroom, expect the towel dispenser to be empty. If you want a pot of coffee, expect it to be empty or hours old. I love Panera's, but this location is unsanitary and would without a doubt fail a surprise health inspection visit. read more

Panera Bread started out pretty good years ago. They have gone downhill in our estimation over the past few. Over the past year I think I stopped in once. We recently decided to give them another try in a different location, West Bend. They definitely have a nicer interior than some other locations. This place was really nice inside in some ways. But service and food still need to deliver and this is where this place falls down. They continue to use the cafe method of calling my name and requiring me to get my food and also clear my table. Dumb idea. If they insist on continuing this let me see some savings in the prices but no. They are just as expensive as the next place down the road of similar or actually better quality food. Their breads are interesting and of pretty good quality. But I find a lot of their breads over baked and hard. My sandwich was rather plain and light on quantity of meat. I got the Cuban. Oh, they are mentioning things like low fat and non antibiotic chicken which is a step in the right direction. The bean soup was good. The vegetable soup was not very good. We won't be back for a long long time. 2017 update: Greatly improved. Better menu and delicious meal this time. Good portions. Caveat: this location is much better than others. Panera has a long way to go to get my regular business back. read more

I show up to Panera bread to simply grab a bagel, the cashier has poor service, and complains about her job to the customer. The cash register lady as well is very weird. After I grab my cup from her, I go to grab something to drink to find out they are all out of green tea. I asked them if they have more green tea, and they say they have none, sorry. I work in the food service industry so it takes a lot for me to complain. On my lunch I ordered a bowl of soup to go along with a frozen drink. Half hour later I was still waiting. I finally went up to cancel my order and get my money back because I had to go back for work. It took the manager 2 seconds to grab me my drink which was fully melted and another 30 seconds to grab my soup.
