Awful meal today. I got a strawberry smoothie that was basically milk, it tasted like laxatives so im suspecting the ingredients were expired. one sip made me physically nauseous immediately. When I moved to the grilled cheese sandwich I got, it was extremely salty. I've never had these problems in the past, as i rarely have panera nowadays. And with these new prices this is outrageous!! Sandwiches and soup were fresh, hot, and tasty at 6PM on a Thursday night and the ordering and prep service was efficient. It's comfortable and enjoyable at this "old-style" Panera Bread with its booths or tables. There's even a couple overstuffed chairs. The decor is subdued and does not have glare of the 'fast food' make-over like the new McHenry Panera Bread. Highly recommended. read more

It seems I might have spoken too soon with my previous review. My last two visits have been disastrous. Today's it took them 19 minutes to make me a half of sandwich and bowl of soup....that's completely too long for such a small, simple order. Probably my last visit for a while as I don't have that kind of time for lunch always and if I do I usually go to a sit down full service restaurant. It was good. We each had 1/2 n 1/2. Half sandwich and soup. I had the turkey something, which had bacon(kinda too crunchy) and tomato, lettuce, turkey, American type cheese and their sauce, which is like thousand island. I also had the creamy chicken rice soup and my friend had the chicken and french onion. All Paneras seem pretty consistent food wise. The only thing I didn't give all 5 stars for is another thing that's consistent with most Paneras. The tables aren't cleaned enough, and for the time i was there eating and chatting (2hours!) never once saw anyone wipe the tables, seats or doors down. Ugh. And no one working there had a mask on. It's still cold and flu season if not still a concern for Covid. Some people are susceptible, just saying, consideration and cleanliness are not that hard to achieve. read more

Ryan, the manager on duty, was phenomenal the entire time we were there. His enthusiasm was infectious and he was doing great. His staff was energetic, pleasant and upbeat which speaks to the quality of his leadership skills. The location was clean and well stocked even though it was closer to closing which shows that the staff was keeping up with everything which is rare to see. Upon hearing a comment about my son enjoying the blueberries in my salad, Ryan brought over a small bowl of blueberries (so they wouldn't have to be tossed with closing when they are cleaning up the kitchen, I presume) for him and engaged him in a conversation about books. Overall, I haven't been to a Panera in a few years due to some issues I've had in other locations, but Ryan and the staff have really boosted my outlook on the company as a whole. 8/14/2024 Employee told us to use the kiosk for order, he was mapping floor. 7pm. placed order and sat down. while waiting for order the F Word flying around in back room about cleaning item broken and not replaced or fixed. After the fourth time, out of four visits, orders have been delivered incorrectly at the drive-thru, I not only cannot recommend this location, but will also no longer patronize it myself. I don't usually post reviews online, but instead prefer to take my compliments or complaints directly to staff/management, as I did today. But the response from this Panera manager was so unsatisfactory in dealing with my complaint that I've decided to go a step farther. Because there have been so many mistakes and omissions to my orders there recently, today I took the time, before driving off, to check the sealed bag. As has happened in the past, after waiting a very long time at the window, chicken ordered to be placed on the side ended up in the bowl. When I returned the item to the cashier and asked how long it would take for them to correct the error, I was told to drive to the parking area and wait for someone to bring it to me. I handed him the frozen cold brew that they had prepared and delivered first to me, and suggested that they keep it cold in the meanwhile or prepare me a fresh one while I waited. And waited. I finally went into the store and waited some more. Two women, waiting to order, said they'd been waiting for a while, but there had been no one manning the counter so they'd asked a food preparer to fetch someone. That someone was eventually the manager who took their order. While waiting to talk with him, my "corrected" order finally appeared and, as I began to air my complaint to him, I checked my food. The chicken had been plucked off and put on the side, but it was now missing the hard-boiled egg I'd been up charged for. Frustrating as it was that even my "fixed" order was wrong, the worst part was the response of the manager who looked at me and said, "what do you want me to do... cancel the order and refund your money, or give you the egg?" No acknowledgement of the time I'd had to waste and the frustration caused by his staff. Not even a simple, "I'm sorry for your inconvenience." He eventually offered an insincere apology as I was walking out, but it came with an admonishment that I had demeaned his staff with my comment that some of them appeared useless at their jobs. He had told me, "mistakes happen", and I don't disagree, but the true measure of a good business is how those mistakes are handled, and whether or not steps are taken to avoid them repeating in the future. How funny is that excuse when, right in front of him, his worker(s) couldn't even fix the mistake without making more mistakes? Maybe the poor performance by staff here has something to do with a manager who defends their right to do a lousy job. read more

I'm very sick so my husband went to get me food from here, he ordered me a cheddar and broccoli soup with a bread bowl on the side cause we live 30 mins away, one the young lady proceeded to criticize him to his face. This is my third time through here where the food has been an issue. The first times, the sandwiches were just thrown together. Today, I ordered a bagel and cream cheese. I was given a cream cheese packet that was discolored and apparently expired in December of 2018. The date of receipt shows today--March 1, 2019. Almost three months expired. Panera is one of those places that offers so many quality choices, you really can't go wrong here. For years we've eaten there and usually got the same thing because it's our favorite choice (the Frontega Chicken sandwich). It's still one of our favs, but there are lots of other tasty things too! Of course their bagels and loaves are all good. Freshly baked and full of flavor. They consistently have good soups too and all of their sandwich meats taste fresh and well prepared. The only disappointment I have in them is their gluten-free choices. Really, the only thing they have to choose from are salads. Now, I like a good Caesar salad as much as the next guy and their strawberry poppyseed salad is really refreshing; but I would like to have sandwich choices on gluten-free bread. You would think that a national restaurant chain specializing in bread (and has bread in their name) would have gluten-free bread. Right? Not so here. I admit I usually hit the drive-thru in the AM on the way to work and the usual ladies working are truly AMAZING! Very friendly and often recognize my voice before I even get to the window. I've been here many times, and have had good and bad experiences. They aren't one of the fastest Panera's in terms of getting orders completed quickly, but usually the people are nice. Update: this Panera is very slow with orders, including the drive through lane. read more

I was going to go in the drive thru. It was back up about 10 cars. So I decided to go inside. Then I stood at the counter for 5 minutes before someone came to take my order. Panera in general is way overpriced for what it is, but this location does not have great service. I'm a vegetarian, and multiple time I've ordered their egg and cheese ciabatta (which IS on the menu) and it's come with bacon. The most recent time takes the cake: I handed the sandwich back to the person in the drive-thru and asked for it to be remade, and she handed it back to me less than a minute later. They had clearly just taken the bacon off of the same sandwich. Gross. There are way better restaurants for the same price in Woodstock. read more

Food here for us has been good. What they can't seem to get right is our order. We order a bowl of soup and we get a cup of soup instead. Sometimes it's the right soup and sometimes it's not. You say you want bread with your order and you've got chips in the bag instead. By the time you get home you're too exhausted to bring it back and deal with it. Ordered yesterday and we got a cup of soup instead of a bowl and it was a soup we didn't order. Sandwich wasn't toasted as we asked for either. Over time this gets annoying as we order here often. I shouldn't have to check and make sure you've done your job correctly. I'm paying you, get my order right. If this continues, I will no longer eat at Panera. The hassle isn't worth it. read more

Last 2 times I have used their 'Rapid Pickup' service there has been items missing from the order. This evening we had an out of town visitor for dinner, and we thought it would be nice to order out and eat at home with them. WOW was he surprised to find no meat in his Asiago Steak Sandwich. WOW were we ever embarrassed. As soon as I was able to call them and tell them about the problem, they were very fast to offer to refund the price of the product. That does not solve what went wrong. It does hide the fact that customer care and customer service are not part of the Panera culture. All they want is for the customer to spend their money and be on their way. From now on do not expect to see my car in their parking lot. They are just another over priced money grabbing store that is after you money. If you want a good meal at a goof price, find a local mom/pop place. I would like to give 0 starts as a rating, but 1 start is as low as they will let me go. Joe read more
