Had to wait around 10 minutes for my food, and the bread was barely even toasted, the meat and cheese wasn't fully heated. A waste of my time and energy. Very disappointed, a restaurant can't even fully cook their own food. I had a New Yorker, and never again from this place. Service was mediocre. This location definitely needs to up grade their service during lunch. We arrived in a Wednesday at 12:35 and it took almost 10 minutes to make our order. So, if you only have a 30 minute lunch, be careful going to this place. This is the 3rd time this has happened. Granted their food is ok we were charged an addition $1.50 for addition dressing which we were never before. 2 pick 2'2 and 2 soft drinks $34.00!!! We had a pick two with corn beef, corn beef was definitely packaged and salty. With only one cashier taking the orders and making sure they have their beverage at prime time it was just not a good thing. New location just opened up recently here in Crystal Lake. The place had a small crowd on a Wed night. Walk up to the register after pondering the menu and order either to go or dine in. We got dine in. A number was handed to us after our order and we found our seat. It didn't take long for our food to be delivered to our table and we were asked if we needed anything else! Customer service wise I'd give it a solid 5/5 they were friendly. Efficient. Clearing tables and checking up on how diners were doing. I witnessed the manager (?) Appoligizing to a lady for a longer than normal wait for her to go order and he threw in a free cookie for her. I thought that was a good sign already and a kind gesture. Food wise it's a deli and a chain. Fresh and friendly prices comparable to the common eatery Panera Bread. But some of the choices on this menu I prefer over the other. i might be biased here but this is one of my favorite chain places. Their salads are always great, many of my coworkers enjoy their sandwiches as well. You gotta get a sweet tea - may i suggest a half & half with lemonade. They also have great desserts, i always get a chocolate chip cookie, they are soft and delicious. The staff at this location are always super friendly and as quick as they can be. I've seen them short staffed many times in the past and they always try their best and have a smile on. Really no issues with service at all - around lunch time this place gets busy. Plenty of seating, bathrooms are always clean. I love McAlister's.. i wish there was one in NJ but i frequent this location enough to satisfy my salad cravings. read more

Food is ok but expensive, they trick you by saying what do you want as a side or would you like a pickle as a side or want dressing with your salad? But you look at the receipt and your charged 2 dollars for a pickle spear and 2 dollars for salad dressing. 2 stars read more

They have great food however I am not sure if they know the concept of an actual deli. When I go to any real deli you are able to purchase say 1LB of turkey, 1/2 LB of cheese, maybe even a chicken salad. This is not a deli it's simply another soup and sandwich place to go. I never heard of subway deli, potbellys deli, Jersey mikes deli, Panera deli. A typical deli yes you order food and there's a menu but you can also purchase the meat and cheese products there. That's what a deli is. The grocer store is a deli over this place just call yourself a cafe your not a deli. read more

McAlister's is absolutely terrible. The sandwich's had no flavor and were soggy. The nachos was a box of chips with 3 tomatoes and unmelted shredded cheese. I will not return and I encourage you not too. read more
