While we have never tried their Thai food, Pangea has some amazing wood fired Pizza. Their drinks and prices tend to keep out problems yet the food is amazing. My wife and I both enjoy it and have yet to have a bad experience. read more

Pulling into Evansville, Indiana yesterday on the tour bus on a very cold and sleet ridden day. We have a show to do in 4 hours. So thankful to have found this place on yelp. It deserves all of the stars in the rating. Clean, friendly, inventive menu, fresh ingredients and a wood burning pizza oven. The combination of Italian food and Thai is fantastic. The pizzas are delicious but the star of the show was the Kao Soi soup!! It is common for touring entertainers to take the path of least resistance and just stumble into a restaurant that is closest to their hotel. I am so happy that we drove the extra 5 miles to get to this place just off the interstate. We purchased some bottles of wine and Burrata for later it was a perfect after show snack. Overall, this was a cool place with a unique menu. Italian options, Thai options, fusion, gelato, and coffees. Calfona pizza was enjoyable with good proportions of topping and cheese to crust. Bucatini homemade pasta with pesto was harder than al dente, not warm when it arrived, and undersalted. It was described as coming with "roasted fall vegetables," but that was, literally, one small wedge of roasted squash. I was disappointed. Gelato was nice and creamy, but less flavorful than others I've had. Between entrees and dessert we dropped $50 bucks. Overpriced for partial self service and not so great food. If we ever return, it will only be for pizza. read more

Delicious food and friendly and helpful staff have made for an overall 5 star experience both times I have visited. I had big noodle bowl options. Excellent balance of spice, veggies, and house made noodles. Pangea is so friendly to vegetarians that when I told the server that I would have gotten the Korean tacos if they were tofu, he made me one on the house to see if it was good and to get my feedback to see if it should be a menu option! And it should, because it was amazing! Perfect balance of crunchy and soft textures and sweet and spice. I will be back and I tell my friends about this place! Ordered a Hot Don from the counter. This comes highly recommended. Hot enough to give you a little sweat with great flavor. Spotted the bar after I ordered, didn't realize it was table service only. Guy cut me a break and I grabbed a seat at the bar. To my delight, they had dogfish head 120 ON TAP!!! Bartender was great, dude has skills at pouring mixed drinks. No complaints! The food was good with fresh ingredients. A little pricey. Neat atmosphere! No wait staff. Just a bunch of kids working the counter and enjoying their free food. I was leary about coming here because I'm a very picky eater... But they can customize any of the pizzas any way you want. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. First time we have been here. A little confusing when we first walked in on where to go to order and what was on the menu. Food was good but took a bit longer to get the Drunkin Noodles that we ordered and not sure why they called it that cause there was no juice or sauce hardly in the bowl. :( Pizza and dessert was great though! read more

I have been coming to Evansville for the past three years and have always dreaded the inevitability of virtually nothing but chain restraint meals, or just a very middle of the road local joint. That all changed tonight with our meal at Pangea Kitchen. I ordered the Thai roasted vegetables which were perfectly roasted and seasoned in a sweat soy sauce. Finished our meal with a small gelato, like everything made fresh on site. Real food in a casual atmosphere prepared right in front of you. We went to Pangea on a whim last night and we were blown away by the owner's care and friendliness! It was busy and yet he opened up a table for us. The food was phenomenal, ambience wonderful and cozy, and we would recommend this place for anybody who loves pizza, desserts and any kind of fusion foods! I'm giving this four stars because the first time my wife and I went. We did not have a good experience. But, after a very long time of not going we decided to give it another try. We loved it. The pizza I got (deep dish Detroiter) was phenomenal and the food my wife got she loved. There is the main dining room and then a separate dining space and a bar with seating that feels secluded the. We love the atmosphere. The gelato is a must. My wife says it's the best gelato she's ever had. I have not had gelato enough to say. But, WOW it is good. The food here is delicious. They change up their menu daily so every time is different, which can be a deterrent for some but is something I personally like. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. They have delicious icecream so save room for dessert! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. All around a nice little gem and worth trying. I like to go to Pangea during lunch because it is close to work. Some coworkers and I went a few weeks ago and haven't stopped talking about it since. We had the Marg Pie and the Thai Pie. The Thai Pie may be the best pizza I've ever had in my life. Seriously. The Marg Pie was good too, but I had already devoured most of the Thai Pie so quickly I could barely move. Upon entering this quaint restaurant, I was kindly greeted by staff from Pangea. They walked out family through the menu and answered our many questions. It was only minutes later when our fresh, hot pizzas were brought to our table. We enjoyed the fresh salad too. It was so good. So good. We will be back again. For sure. read more

Pangea Kitchen in Evansville, IN is definitely a neighborhood gem. They have good Italian (including pizza) and Thai food. They also have a very good dessert selection, including 10 or 12 flavors of gelato. Outdoor dining is available in addition to plenty of seating indoors. The restaurant is a little difficult to find if you are not familiar with the area, because it is located in a strip mall off of Green River Road near the Lloyd Expressway (IN 66). Once you find it I think you'll agree that it was worth the effort. They also have daily specials that look very good. It is locally owned and their chefs are from Italy and Thailand, so the food is authentic. read more
