The deep dish pizzas here are the absolute best. It's the best pizza in Evansville, if you haven't tried it you definitely should.

This place has so much of what you would expect in a bigger city that you almost feel as if you've been transported there. But it's true... this is Evansville. The pizza is served so quickly, you'll swear that they read your mind before ordering it, but that's just how they've perfected their system. It's easy to get in and out at lunch in 30 minutes if the line isn't crazy, which it can get if you show up at noon. But really, I enjoy the energy of a packed restaurant. Don't forget to try the gelato and espresso bar. This place just begs for repeat visits. Highly, highly recommended. Go for the pistachio pizza if you can't decide on what to try. read more

we came back into town for an errand = we must go to pangea came in during off hours, around 3ish. what can I say, they did not disappoint. I have kept telling everyone how great the food is and they delivered again. pizza we got was Detroit style - a thick pan style crispy crusted rectangle - half was their Diavola and half was The Butcher. covered with melted cheese and perfectly proportioned toppings and red sauce. if you don't like spicy stay away from the Diavola. but since we are huge fans, there was nothing better. we could tell from the hustle and bustle around the open atmosphere kitchen that had around eight people working constantly that everything is made and prepared fresh daily. the ingredients were second to none, the salad, julienned veggies was also on point. we got the "breadsticks" - think of this as more of their fantastic pizza dough rolled out and baked with oil, garlic and parmesan with a size of delicious red sauce. again, it seemed like all the little things were done right and then put together in the right combinations of fresh, inventive and well paired. great food, great atmosphere, we love the open concept. dessert- strawberry tiramisu - I would say definitely save room, it was worth every penny, I almost didn't get to try it, my date loved it. we will be back. believe the hype, it's that good. we've been here when it's much busier later at night and it's worth the wait. read more

Unique is the only way to describe this place. Community-seating in the main area where you walk up to the counter it looked like to get gelato or pizza or Thai. But if you go through that area there is a bar and small dining area to drink and be wired on. The pizza was great and the associate I was with said the Thai was really good. Not a huge beer selection but the liquor was extensive with a lot of quality liquors. Will definitely go back and I highly recommend it. Nitpicking but only complaint about the food was crust was a bit soggy need another 30 seconds in the oven and more seating in the bar area would have been good to not have people hovering over our shoulder waiting on someone to leave for a seat. So happy we have a pizza place like Pangea in Evansville! Fresh ingredients matter! We decided on the Sicilian pizza (a Vegetale and a Cafona). I really enjoyed the veggie--artichokes, olives, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, mozzarella and basil. We finished our dinner with some yummy gelato. If it were a bit bigger you could call this place a food hall. This place had a little something for many cravings I have. A mix of various cuisines this place provides global soul food, as their tshirts say, offering Italian, French/ Spanish, and Thai dishes. It appears to do all of them well. read more

Don't let the strip-mall location dissuade you from going. The pistachio pizza was insanely good. Sweet and spicy with a delicious crust. All baked in an oven imported from Italy. Good salad selection. Drunken noodles also highly recommended. Beer and wine available. Order at the counter and food is delivered to your table. Great vide. Family friendly earlier in the evening. Save room for desserts. They're as great tasting as the food. The gelato is wonderful. You can get the desserts to go. read more

Really good casual place for pizza or Italian. The Neapolitan style pizza is great if you like thin crust. I had the Knuckleball which was great but the Hot Honey has some real kick. Excellent food. Seriously love drunken noodles with pork and their pizzas are good also. They sometimes run out of dough for pizza though and that's strange that they just don't make more and food takes a while but when you do get your food it is worth it. read more

This was some of the best pizza we have had in! We had the knuckle ball red pie and the Butcher Detroit style. Both were delicious! We left with a click of gelato cake that I can't wait to devour and the samples of gelato were amazing. Finally made it to Pangea, and was impressed with the food. The pizza is legitimate Napolitano, and the "Bufalina" was outstanding. We liked the decor and set-up of the place. They also do an Asian fusion menu, which we'll try soon. Staff was friendly and helpful. We spoke with the pizza chef, who is the real deal from Naples. I should also mention that when I left my original 4 star review, I expressed some disappointment that Pangea didn't stay open late enough on the weekends. To my surprise, I received an email just hours after posting my review from Kory, the GM of the restaurant. He explained that in response to my comments (and I presume other patrons' requests as well) that they were extending their hours on Fridays and Saturdays to 10 P.M. Now that is what I call great customer service! It is not often that you find a business that actually cares about what customers think. I'm pretty impressed. We'll be visiting Pangea often, and we'll be telling our friends about it. Thank you! read more

I come here all the time! My favorite restaurant, hands down. I love the margarita pizza and drunken noodles. However, the hidden treasure is the cheese and tomato dip. A round of mozzarella topped with roasted tomatoes. Inside the cheese round is ooey, gooey liquid cheese. Hungry yet? read more

My wife and I stopped by Pangea for lunch the other day. She had a pork sandwich with broccolirab. I had the Thai curry soup noodles with pork chunks. The staff was fabulous, service quick, but a little stingy with the napkins. Not serious complaints, but a couple of suggestions. The hoagie bun was a ciabatta type thing that apparently had been pre-sliced and left to sit out exposed to kitchen air, because both the interior and exterior surfaces were dry and hardened. Not the best texture. And while the yellow curry broth with veggies, noodles, and cilantro was very tasty, it would benefit by lime wedges and a Thai basil leaf or two, which should accompany such a dish, especially considering the menu price. The gelato is awesome. The room temperature could've been more cozy, as witnessed by many patrons dining in their winter gear. But this is common in Evansville where the ambiant temperature in most local restaurants seem to be controlled in favor of the kitchen and wait staff. However, I am eager to return as the food and service is excellent. read more

So yummy! I am from Boston. I was in town for a single afternoon on business. After a 4am wake up call, I really really really just wanted some delicious food. Googling "best lunch spot in Evansville" will not disappoint. I had a yellow curry bowl. It was simply fantastic. The staff were so kind. I was bumbling as it was my first visit. I was hoping this place would remind me of the pizza I loved so much when living in NYC. I know it states they're authentic, certified, and follows VPN standards but it just didn't do anything for me unfortunately. On the other hand I liked the fresh spring rolls and drunken noodles. However the one time I tried the gelato it tasted freezer burnt which I'm sure isn't the norm but it kept me for wanting to give the place a 4th try. read more

Found this by sheer luck. All kinds of interesting food that is all made fresh. We had two pizzas that had the most interesting blend of ingredients. We did not try desert, but they also looked amazing. There is also a deli that you can buy meats and cheeses to go. They even make their own cheese. I was so impressed that I bought gift cards for my office staff. If you want something different, this is the place. read more

They let way more people in and order/pay than there are tables available so when I'm spending $45 for food and a glass of wine it would be nice not to feel so rushed. People were literally standing by our table waiting and watching you eat ready to dive on our table when we left. Their desserts are to die for - I'm still thinking about the macarons I had there months ago. Those are so hard to get right, and Pangea got them perfect. So many wonderful dishes - we ordered a variety and shared among the 5 of us - standouts were the roasted vegetables, the 'blue gouda' on the charcuterie board, the burrata, the polenta bites and drunken noodles. The tomato sauce on the pizzas was crazy-fresh tasting. Stellar cocktails too! It's nice to see bartenders who excel at their craft. Try the 'Orange you Glad' gin drink. Yum! read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat. I can't eat there without getting the pistachio pizza, so I love to eat there with other people so we can split what we get and I can try new things. I have also loved the taco dishes I have tried. Their macarons are also wonderful. The peach crisp gelato has been my favorite all time gelato. read more
