We order here quite often. But the last 3 times were not as good as this place used to be. They have shrank their portions and the quality and food preparation were lacking in general. Tonight I ordered take out and it tasted like it was prepared yesterday. I know because I usually eat my leftovers the next day when I order from here. The rice was crunchy, the pita was hard, and the chicken kebobs were rubbery (not tender). Everything tasted pre-prepared and then microwaved. When ordering almost $100 dollars worth of food, I expect (at the least) that it is prepared to order. They also did away with frequent customer points towards future meals. Just had an amazing meal at this location! Our server Kevin Q. was very helpful and attentive. Everyone working was very hospitable. The family meal is a great deal if you have a group. I think they suggest it's for 4, but 5 of us ate it and had some left over. The entree was large enough to share with two people. We both ordered two separate entrees and we had more than 60% leftover to take home. It was delicious. This is probably one of the best Middle Eastern food place I've ever had. I got a salmon kabob with a strawberry salad and white rice. If your not a fan of sour and sweet I would recommend getting a different salad which you have 5 different ones to choose from. My amazing server Mailet was incredible always checking up on me if I needed anything, although it was really busy she was on point! Over all my experience was a solid 10/10 Mailet also told me about there amazing Tiramisu which is to die for! I have had great food at the Panini Kabob Grill. Unfortunately, the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. They make everything so cold and unfriendly, no apologies for their poor service. I ordered to go, I work close by and have 1/2 hour for lunch. By the time I got there to pick up my order, I needed to sit down and eat my food to make it back in time for work. They told me all orders to go are not allowed to eat in the restaurant, even though the place was empty and not busy at all. Then when I paid for the food, they request a tip that starts with 15%. I paid the tip and hoped it was just a bad day. Unfortunately, I have ordered several other times for dinner and lunch because the food is tasty, but the customer services truly sucks big TIME!!!! I had to wait 15 to 20 minutes to get someone to acknowledge me. I was standing where the Pick up orders were and they just ignore you. I am starting to take this personally. We ate here tonight for dinner at about 5:30 pm and ordered our beef koobideh kabobs split. I had brown rice & romaine avocado salad. My friend had the bulgar wheat & romaine avocado salad. We eat regularly at other panini locations in Orange County and other counties. We didn't think the portion of rice or salad was as much as in other locations. They also forgot our tzatziki sauce and we had to tell two employees to fix it, since the first one couldn't understand what we were asking for. The salad hardly had any cucumber or tomatoes on it, the avocado portions seems about right. The meals were very inconsistent. We had different portions of rice & salads looked different even though they were the same. This location wasn't as crowded as other locations, so we got seated immediately and finished within an hour, which was good because we weren't in a rush. I assume it wasn't as crowded because it's in a less crowded shopping center & they had many more tables and seating. The food was average, the service was average. This place gets really really crowded during lunch hours on weekdays. Despite the size of the lot, parking gets a little challenging here during lunch time. I usually just call in and pick up for the office. I've also ordered catering trays from here for our company lunches. Love the ambiance and the vibe of this place. Very popular for company lunches because the entire place is packed with young professionals during weekdays. I always order from Mediterranean entrees but have also tried their paninis. The Koobideh combo is my go to. Has two skewers of the ground beef, grilled tomatoes, onions, & broccoli. Option of basmati rice or bulgar pilaf (my favorite). Choice among avocado, greek, or cesar salad. About $14 for the entree but the servings are huge. This is good enough to split between two people. Their chicken kabob is also good (juicy, well seasoned, not dry). The hummus trio is also a good appetizer, it used to come with unlimited pita but now I believe they charge for extra. Deducted one star due to the fact that every single time I call in, they always sound like they're on fast forward. I don't understand what they're saying when confirming my order. Our friend wanted to go here and suggested the family meal. We ordered an extra salad, the shirazi salad. The meal consisted of koobideh and chicken kabobs with grilled onions, tomatoes, bell peppers and an ample amount of basmati rice. I liked the shirazi salad, which has chopped cucumbers, red onions and tomatoes and a delicious dressing. The dressing kind of tasted like a light Italian. The salad included with the family meal was a spinach salad which was fresh, but not as tasty as the shirazi salad. We were pretty satisfied with what we thought was a good value. Then we received the check. It was much higher than expected. We asked our server about it and she realized she had given us the wrong check. The man at the table across from us had accepted our smaller check instead of informing the server that he'd been given the wrong check. When he was informed of the mistake, he made such a fuss about it that it took a long time to resolve the situation. Why not just pay for what was actually ordered? It's too bad they did not have another payment machine so we did not have to keep waiting. Anyway, we got the correct check, which was reasonable. The server apologized. I have been a Panini Cafe/ Panini Kabob Grill fan since 2007 when, I believe, the only location was in Downtown LA. The food is consistently good as well as a great value (and healthy option). PKG at Los Olivos made a marketing misstep on Veteran's day when they honored a promotion on the wrong day. I submitted my concern on their website and Jose Jimenez, District Manager, reached out to me to address my concerns and offered my father a complimentary meal to apologize and make it right. As loyal, longstanding customers of PKG at Los Olivos for the last 4 years, we wanted to give them a second chance. After all, PKG is a restaurant that we eat at regularly AND we also cater from here regularly when we have parties. We have spent countless dollars supporting this particular restaurant. A couple weeks after Veteran's Day, we decided to come back to PKG to celebrate my dad's birthday. PKG had birthday balloons at the table waiting for us and the managers stopped by to greet us and thank my dad for his service. We had a great meal (as usual), service was excellent (as usual), and they surprised my dad (again!) with a birthday tiramisu and a signed birthday card from the staff. The Los Olivos team really rolled out the red carpet for my dad and this solidifies why we will be life-long patrons of PKG. No establishment is perfect, but by taking immediate ownership for areas of improvement and making the effort to do what's right... it really, truly goes a long way. My family and I will continue to eat at PKG regularly and we now feel even more loyal to the restaurant because they really do care about their reputation and the opinions/ experiences of their guests. It was nice that my wife made plans to have breakfast here in Thanksgiving morning, especially we didn't want anything too heavy to start our day before a big feast later in the evening. The good thing here is that they serve a full menu in the morning so I could try out the "Chicken Shish Kabob" ($12.95). Once served you can see the orange color and charbroiled texture exterior chunks of chicken. I knew right then and there I was in for something good, they were tender and tasty. Adding the squeeze of lemon all over makes them zesty and that's something I'm accustomed too when having a delicious Mediterranean meal. Included is the grilled tomatoes and onions that pairs well with the meats. For the rice option, I went for the bulgur pilaf, its whole wheat rice and it's healthy. Also, there was a good amount of spinach salad on the same plate that I couldn't finish. Overall, this was a good quality meal. The "Smoked Salmon Plate" ($12.95). It's on the breakfast side of the menu. The wife really liked this choice it was a perfect light meal. The cold salmon is thinly cut. Included is red onions, tomatoes and sour dough bread. This is a good size restaurant and they do have a bar. Our server was friendly, she was nice to honor our 25% percent off weekday breakfast before 11am Yelp check-in offer. What's the point of submitting an online and/or order through the app if your food isn't ready at the time you requested!!I asked for a refund and now have to wait 3-5 business days for it to show on my card.
