Ordered the #17 (Albacore Tuna w/ artichokes and olive tapenade) and it was really good! Very fresh ingredients with good, strong flavors. The tapenade complemented the tuna really well, and the sandwich was of good size for the price (nearly $11). The staff are extremely friendly and the sandwiches were out within minutes. Stopped by to grab a few sandwiches for a afternoon picnic. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was surprised but the spacious outdoor sitting in the courtyard a great place to sit down if the weather permits. Local Tip: I always opt for the focaccia bread. You get the best amount for the price. Also the baguette offers the smallest room so you'll end up with what a call a 'mini sandwich' and feel ripped off after spending $10 on a sandwich. read more

This is a great sandwich shop. I love coming here for lunches when I am at work I always know the food will be a great quality and fresh. The focaccia bread is by far my favorite and one of the reasons I keep coming back. I've been eating through all of their sandwiches and salads for years now and haven't found one I do not like. Hmmm....mixed reviews from me. If this review was on service alone, the restaurant would get 4 stars from me. Unfortunately for them, I have to factor it all in and yes...that includes the food. I ordered the tuna sandwich on wheat bread and the hubby ordered a turkey sandwich on a baguette. When the sandwich delivered, I expected to devour the sandwich because I was pretty hungry. When I picked up the sandwich, the bread was noticeably cold. You could even say chilled. I took a big bite and the flavor was completely flat. The tuna itself was mixed with celery, red onions and other condiments but it just lacked flavor completely. I sought out salt and pepper, opened the sandwich and added a sprinkle or two of each. I took another bite and again...it just was tasteless. I gave up and ended up taking off the bread, adding a little more pepper and ate the lettuce, tomato and the tuna sans bread. Eating the potato chips with the tuna seemed to work better than eating it alone. My husband ended up eating his whole turkey sandwich and said he really enjoyed. I just didn't care for the tuna at all so I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Turkey on wheat with artichoke bisque is what I ordered. The soup was phenomenal, and the the sandwhich was Def hearty, fresh, and delish! I ordered on wheat sourdough and the bread was so hard I couldn't even chew it. I finally gave up and threw out the bread and ate it protein style. Regardless, it was tasty, but my friend also said her white sourdough was super hard as well. That may be my only complaint. If back in solvang I'll Def be back! I own my own panini press so I feel like I know a solid sammich when I see one. Now if you've ever read some of my reviews you might know I don't dig on the cow so I shot through the 19 sammiches and deleted all the Mooers as an option and ended up ending with the end of the list and the #19. The Panino Cobb Sandwich. Thick sliced roast chicken breast that was nice and moist. Prosciutto aka sexy thin bacon. Fresh tomato, basil, sliced red onion (picked off a bit of the onion there was a lot and it was a strong onion. English Stilton that was mmm mm good. And what's that? Avocado topped w/ balsamic vinaigrette and organic greens. Kick me in the teeth it was good. Didn't hurt that I was starving. I stole a big ol bite out of the #13 Prosciutto w/ Fresh Mozzarella and Roasted Red Peppers. Also solid. Grab a bag of chips and a drink or a cup of H2O and take a seat outside and enjoy yourself. read more

Being that it's located in Solvang, surrounded by tasting rooms and wineries, this place is ideal for some good salads and panini sandwiches. I've always phoned my order in and picked it up. This lends to a swift ease, with large groups but they do have a patio you can sit outside at and enjoy the delectable bites Panino has created. Their menu has a vast selection for anyone to choose from and I honestly think, you can't go wrong with whatever you may select. Ok, to the food. They have a very nice selection of custom sandwiches, with lots of different meats, and toppings. I had a salami, goat cheese, and sun dried tomato sandwich on a baguette. Solvang to me seems to teeter dangerously on the line of very cool and really creepy. Having said that, while visiting Solvang, this is an excellent place to go. I had the mixed veggie sandwich and a bag of loaded baked potato kettle chips(new flavor that tastes exactly like tato skins. does anyone remember tato skins? goodtimes). The sandwich had the usual veggie sandwich vibe going on, although it came with a honey mustard dressing that seemed to be homemade, as you could actually taste the honey. The only bummer with that is that it seemed to make the sandwich too sweet. BUT, it was still delicious. In the mood for a late lunch after a drive up from SB, we found this place after a quick yelp. It was quiet because it was a little later in the afternoon, but the staff were friendly. I got the roast beef and horseradish cheddar, and my wife got the prosciutto with mozzarella. Both were tasty and on this nice thick bread. We sat outside on the little patio and it was both sunny and a nice temperature to enjoy the outdoors. That said, I have to agree with one of the other reviewers that it definitely would be better if all the sandwiches were grilled. Now maybe I'm spoiled by those high speed convection ovens at Subway and quiznos, but it just would have been better if the sandwiches were warm. I have to admit, I was really wanting something on the lighter side like a sandwhich since I had been eating nothing but heavy foods and junk since I started the trip to Solvang. I do have to say that I didn't see an option to make your own sandwhich, but I guess if you want that you should go to Subway. I settled on the curried chicken salad sandwhich on focaccia bread (they give you the choice of wheat, sour dough, or focaccia). The sandwhich came with a very generous portion of chicken salad and I only got through half of it because it was so big. I was a bit disappointed that the sandwhich barely had a curry flavor to it. It had way to many cranberries/apples in it, which made the sandwhich more on the sweeter side than on the savory side. But, since I love sweets, I still kind of dug it even though it wasn't what I was expecting. I wish they toasted the bread because it would've made the sandwhich a whole lot better. read more

Great location in the charming town of Solvang, but tiny. We always stop at panino here or in Los Olivos for lunch during our central coast wine tasting trips. Lots of vegetarian options. The harvest salad, goat cheese salad. greek salad, english stilton sandwich, mixed veggie sandwich are all so fresh and yummmmm! We also like to pack it and have a picnic lunch at one of the vineyards in the area with a glass of Reiseling. Reasonable prices for a touristy location. Only negatives: 1. They don't accept AMEX. 2. Not enough seats and umbrellas (esp when it gets crowded in the summers). 3. Staff can be somewhat rude and unfriendly at times (don't blame them-it does get very crowded at times). 4. Really good sandwiches can be had here at this small shop. Not much seating inside, but there is a big courtyard just outside the shop. I tried the chicken and pesto sandwich on focaccia. This came with a very assertive provolone cheese, but was very delicious. Others in my party tried the roast beef sandwich, and the Italian sandwich. I would give more stars, but the gal behind the counter was not particularly friendly. She did not even bother to make eye contact when we ordered. On one hand I was very excited to visit a Danish town and try danish foods... On the other hand, I'm a vegetarian and would a veggie burger at a danish restaurant really be a cultural activity? A sandwich serving gem in Solvang that was too busy for it's own good the day I visited. After finally finding the place in town, I stood in line with literally 2-3 people ahead of me putting in their orders at the cashier. Ordered my Italian Combo with avocado and an Honest Tea, which came out to ~$15 (which is a bit much, but expected since it's downtown Solvang). The place is tiny inside but has a lot of homey charm as well. I did not realize at the time how terrible backed up they were on orders, which is the reason I'm giving them three stars! After about 15-20 minutes of waiting while hungry I heard the cashier saying they were understaffed for the day and that there was only one person making the sandwiches and then the cashier herself who was delivering sandwiches to tables with taking orders from patrons. After waiting for like a half hour there was a disgruntled customer waiting in front of the sandwich maker to see if his order was ready. This person wasn't very observant because all the people who ordered before him didn't have their sandwiches either. I was starving by the time I got my sandwich, so it tasted excellent... but not really worth that extravagant wait. From the time I ordered to finished my sandwich was a ridiculous 1 HOUR! They're lucky the sandwiches are good otherwise I'd give it two stars. read more

The place is very small, literally a cubicle with seating capacity of maybe 4 people max. Good thing is they have a courtyard patio out front shared with all the other eateries which makes it much more pleasant to dine and to people-watch. Though delicious, but two small sandwiches at $10.95 each with no sides, just plain ol' sandwiches made with foccacia bread, plus a bag of small chips (identical to the Subway Sandwich kind), and a small bottled drink came out to $31+. We forgot about the receipt, or was it not given purposely(?). Anyway, too hungry to think at the time but it doesn't add up. Either they self-added a gratuity or the plastic bottled drink and small gas-station sized chips are close to $4 a pop!!!
