We run into this place by accident. We had movie tickets and a short time to eat before the movie started. We noticed this place had empanadas, so we thought it would a good and quick dinner. However, when we got the menu, we found out a lot more of other possibilities that we could choose. They have small plates, tapas-like, and regular entrees. The restaurant is located in a small corner, but it has inside and outside sitting. The service was fast and precise, and the server very attentive. The wine and beer options are a few with local and international brands. The prices are not over the top, but a little bit above average due to that are of the city. This review is simply based off of the pastries and empanadas. I came in here to just check it out and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and price. The empanadas are $3 each, which is relatively priced for Miami, and they had about 6 different varieties to choose from. I ordered a corn and a beef. Inside the corn empanada was cheese, cream and sweet corn, in a homemade pastry shell, which was very delicious and unique. The beef was good but not the best beef beef empanada I've had in Miami. I would deff come back to get the sweet corn empanada. They also have a pastry station in the back that is constantly pumping out fresh homemade pastries, including cream filled croissants, butter croissants, donut type pastries and other various pastries, for $1 each. I love how they have this set up. You go in the back, grab a basket, pick what you want and then you bring your basket to the front for check out. They were all delicious! I'll be back! read more

I was craving pizza and the restaurant we'd planned to go on Alton had closed, so we decided to try this place When we arrived we went inside and asked to see a menu, were both were happy with it and then it turned awkward, as the staff just kind of stood there looking at us, but didn't offer to seat us or show us to a table, prompting me to shrug and say "Um, so we just sit anywhere?". Service was decent after that. We each ordered a beer and asked for water for the table. I ordered a pizza and my partner a salad. Both of us were happy with our food, but to be honest, we were surprised at how long it took them to prepare it after we placed our order. Neither the pizza or salad were anything complicated, yet it felt like we waited at least 20 minutes or more between the time we ordered until our food was delivered, and I think there was only 1 other table with patrons when we arrived. Pricing was fair, but I'm not sure I was impressed enough by this place to return, especially with so many other good restaurants in this general area to choose from. read more

Doing my best to shine light on as many businesses as I can, I feel duty-bound to remind people about Panizza. From the reviews, it seems as though its heyday was in the not-so-recent past and things have slowed for them. I think there are some elements worth re-visiting if it's been a little while since you've stopped in. To begin, I must impart this caveat: I didn't dine here nor did I purchase a traditional meal. After a weekend of eating like I had broken into Willy Wonka's Factory after-hours, I needed to chill out and get some of my sexy back (in other words: starve myself, drink wine and hope that my stomach flattens out). Knowing that I needed something to accompany my Chliean cabernet sauvignon, I stopped into the unfamiliar storefront in search of goodies. I found them. Empanadas, people. Empanadas. Start and stop with these bad boys. I ordered four and in order from most enjoyed to least (which is relative because I enjoyed all of them): Chicken: pulled chicken with delectable seasoning. Many people say that chicken's boring. It doesn't have to be. This proves why; Caprese: a nice standout. I was pleasantly surprised that the empanada had a crunch to it. The texture and balance of the ingredients made this a standout; Cheese & Onion: it's cheese & onion. 'nuff said; and Mushroom: another cheesy mix, the saltiness of the mushrooms added to the savory goodness of the pastry. Eating the empanadas whilst drinking wine (and watching trashy tv) made me feel delightfully European. Had I dined in perhaps I would change my tune/review. I believe they are a Spanish, Argentinian, and French fusion. Remember I came in craving pizza? Well guess what I didn't order. Pizza! They have a full blown menu, from pasta to salads, to main dishes, sandwiches and more. I decided to order some empanadas. I got 1 spinach and ricotta, 1 Arabian(spicy meat), and 1 caprese for my momma. I still wanted something else so I got an order of the goat cheese croquettes. The empanadas, were tasty but nothing to really jump and shout about. I found them to be a little stale. The fillings were delicious! Especially the Arabian one. My mom really like the caprese empanada I took home to her. The goat cheese croquettes are a delicate subject. I didn't care for them too much, they were executed perfectly and you can tell they were made fresh to order. They did not have a drop of grease on them. I forgot how strong goat cheese tasted lol. I was exploring Miami Beach with a friend when we stumbled upon this place. We had just finished dinner nearby and were looking for a quick drink. We saw the chalk board outside of this place with $4 glasses of wine for happy hour and decide to check it out. We both got a glass of wine and after we were done decided to look at the menu. We decided to get some cappuccinos and split a slice of the ricotta cake. The ricotta cake was excellent. The cappuccino was one of the best cappuccinos I've ever had. I dont know what they did to make it so good, but it was incredible. The rest of the stuff on the menu sounded very good, but having just eaten beforehand we were too full. Met some friends for brunch here. I ordered the iced latte, tuna & cheese panini w side salad. My sandwich was served on French bread instead (cold) but I was very hungry and it was very fresh. But the menu is much more expensive than other cafes in the area. We ordered cappuccinos the first time and they were basically just lattes. We ordered lattes this time. Both times, though, the drinks were in 12 oz. cups (drinks on the menu only offered in one size) and there was only one shot of espresso in them, so our coffees were pretty much just cups of hot milk! Went there this morning for a cup of American coffee and some empanadas. The counter person poured me a half a cup of cold coffee, and I kindly asked her to make another pot. After an awesome walk in the neighborhood before our flight, my 11 year old was thirsty and I needed caffeine. We stumbled upon this cute cafe and I can see they had some serious coffee machine and we walked in. There were large selections empanadas, baked goods and 5 different kinds of quiche. Everything looked so good so we decided on a spinach and cheese empanadas, Americao coffee and coke. My daughter loved the coke she even took a picture of it. When we were at the airport, she realized she had left her shopping bag at the bistro and started to cry. We called up and the owner Karina was so sweet and immediately offered to ship it back to us in Chicago. Two days later, she sent me a text from the post office confirming the address. I am beyond grateful and impressed with Karina and it's no wonder her restaurant was equally impressive. When something is curated and made by love, it can only be awesome. It's small like a coffee shop, it's got outdoor seating and a counter like a coffee shop, but their menu is pretty elaborate. Full of pasta dishes, sandwiches, empanadas, deserts (like flan), and a full wine selection. To find it, walk West of the westernmost edge of the pedestrian part of Lincoln Road.
