La Vie Belle is a great brunch place, nice and quiet. They serve cocktails but their coffee is where it is at. The server was really attentive, and she was on top of her area. It rained earlier in the morning and it was super humid but it was worth being outside. They have fans to help cool you down. Fluffy would NOT be an adjective I'd use for their matcha pancake as described on their menu .The pancake was quite dry , not much flavor and even with the syrup and fruits it just sucked! The omelet option for brunch was alot more impressive . The way they treat the veggies such as the tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms and avocado (fruit ) all deserve high praise. They meshed perfectly with their fluffy scrambled eggs and artisan bread that was a light yet clean and satisfying meal . Their lemon almond cake post meal was probably my favorite thing from here . Supposedly it's gluten free but it was just perfectly sweet , light and savory and I'd say an easy blind buy . Very aesthetically pleasing place. It's located in a hotel so it can be a bit confusing on how to find it. Went here for brunch but honestly this restaurant is perfect for a quick bite. During brunch they had a pre set menu because it was a big party that included coffee and an entree. The menu was $35 which really an avocado toast shouldn't have been on there for that price and only being one toast with not even fresh avocado shouldn't have made the menu cut. Ordered eggs on the side to add to the toast which thankfully I did because the toast was one slice that also had a fee of $7 for two eggs. The service wasn't all that either we had to call the waiter over to order because they didn't do it on their own. Then as food came out they didn't know who had what. To finally pay had to basically make a line to tell the waiter what our items were to pay at the counter. They need to work on better serving big parties. A friend and I walked down to Sunset Harbor for "coffee." We thought we'd try this new cafe, see what's new. It's really delightful. The people working there are quite attentive, eager to please. The display of croissants and sweets is inviting. I had athe poached truffle egg on a round croissant with turkey bacon and hollandaise. The egg was poached perfectly and turkey bacon which is difficult to get crunchy was almost crunchy. I think I would have preferred a regular croissant to the round one; it did not have the flakyness of it's cousin. And the hollandaise was thick. But overall, really good. The pictures of food look wonderful. The location is good not far off of Collins in south beach. The ambiance beautiful. The menu appears stacked with options that make it difficult to make a decision. It is largely smoke and mirrors. The one thing that holds true is the ambiance. Chic, beautiful, outdoor patio with retractable roof if rains. The rest not so great. Ordered avocado toast which was not even eatable. The avocado is not fresh but instead made into some sort of avocado spread that appears to have been squeezed out of a bottle like cheese Wiz. For 13.95, pathetic. Wife took one bite and was like "I cant." I ordered an acai bowl that appeared large with plenty of fruit, granola, chia pudding. It came out in a cereal bowl with minimal granola, minimal fruit, frozen solid acai, and no cheap seed. 15.95 and this was worse than whole food frozen acai packet. Also ordered smoothie (sub par), turkey bacon side (tasted gamey). Furthermore, the service was horrendous. We had to track down waiter twice to get service and walk up to front to pay. I normally tip 30+% for good service and 20% for even below average service but had planned to tip less here as wait staff not overly busy and almost intentionally negligent. They charge automatic 20% gratuity on bill anyway which is annoying after experience like this. I have never been too impressed with food in Miami as compared to other cosmopolitan cities, especially California or NE cities, but have a hard time wondering how people think this place is above average. My wife wanted to create an account just to give a 1 star to this place. read more

Best brunch we had in South Beach! What impressed us even more was the service. I accidentally left my phone at the restaurant, and the staff was incredibly helpful and responsive. We read all of the reviews and it looked great. Restaurant is inside a hotel and looked inviting. But, It felt like we went to a different restaurant that the one reviewed on Yelp. Food was pedestrian , at best. Had the avocado toast, cheese omelette and french toast. Omelette was OK - but, overcooked and too salty. My wife thought the avocado had been out for too long - not freshly made. Strawberrys were not fresh. French toast was just a C. Server was awful. The restaurant ice machine was not working. Although I asked the server several times for ice, she did not tell me that there was an ice machine problem. Finally, I called over the asst. manager and she told me about the ice machine. A server needs to make eye contact with the server's tables when nearby. This one never did. The asst manager offered a 15% discount. When I responded that all new customers are given a 15% discount, she just looked at me embarassed. Final bill had a 30% discount. The atmosphere is super cute (pink all around), and friendly staff were smiling and had my 6:30p order ready to go for me.
