I can't believe I didn't leave a review for this place three years ago! 5 stars then, 5 stars now. Three years back my husband and I found this gelateria tucked away in the wide stairwell that leads up from Trajan's Column to the street up top (Via Quattro Novembre). We tried several other shops during our first visit to Rome; the larger shops may offer slightly more selection but there are still about 20 varieties here and we found we preferred the flavor and texture of this gelato far more than all others. Three years later we're in Rome again and walked straight here. Tried one other shop on our second day and were quickly reminded why we walk out of our way to eat here! The family that owns the shop were among the friendliest we met during our stay. Wonderful gelato, lovely people. read more
