We chose Pantaleone's because we're visiting the Denver area and remembered this restaurant from Kitchen Nightmares. We couldn't eat in the dining room because of the recent coronavirus outbreak, so we chose carry out. We walked in and the wife, Paulette, was working the front register while Pete was crafting our pizza in the kitchen. We ended up talking to both of them for a bit. They're both very friendly people... Paulette even walked us out and everything! We ordered a large meatball and pepperoni pizza. With much anticipation we tried our pie and to our delight, we were treated to a very tasty meal. The delicious crust was flakey and wasn't too thick being that it was hand tossed. It was also light on the sauce (which I prefer)! Overall, we really enjoyed our dining experience and if we're ever in the area again craving a pizza, we will definitely choose Pantaleone's! read more

To be honest my husband and I visited this place because we saw it on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. And because we were craving pizza. We were a bit nervous but to our surprise we had a very amazing experience at this place! The place is very clean and the decor is really cool. The sign they have in the dining area is made of pizza boxes -definitely worth a picture! We were greeted by the owner as we walked in and sat down. He's very friendly and charismatic. We ordered a sausage pizza with some Coke's. Now the pizza...it's PIZZA. Great fluffy crust with amazing flavor. Perfect balance of cheese and sauce. Definitely loved the sliced sausage over the traditional sausage. My husband and I can never finish a pizza by ourselves especially large, but today we did! Really delicious pizza. Confused why this place has 4 stars. Worst pizza I've had. For some reason the pizza has a ton of flour at the base. Was very confused on my first but as to what I was eating! Also, the sauce is way over seasoned with oregano or Italian seasoning. It's almost like they bought the dough and cheese at the grocery store. This pizza is not good. I hadn't been here in quite some time, so I made a return visit and brought along a big group with me. This time I got pasta rather than pizza, though most people probably opt for the pizza since they also deliver and do takeout. The pasta dishes are pretty good, though they happened to run out of chicken that night, but many people at our table favored the pizza anyway. I like the idea of a Greek slant to an Italian restaurant, since you get some different ingredients and combinations here than on most standard-issue Italian menus. The owner was very friendly and chatted with our group all night, helping his staff get all of our dishes to the appropriate spots. I was bummed that the place wasn't busier, but that made for a more personable experience for our group, so it worked out fine. Came by here while I was in town a few weeks ago since I'm a big Kitchen Nightmares fan and absolutely loved the pizza! They're only doing takeout right now just a heads up. Like most people, I was interested in trying this spot out after watching the kitchen nightmares episode. Saw it years ago but recently moved to Denver so I had to try it. It's good. Definitely better than any chain out there. I had the sausage pizza. The sauce and the sausage is very good. The crust, while tasting nice, could have seen the oven for a couple more minutes. It was cooked all the way through but not quite as crispy as I'd like. Overall, I'd go back for sure. read more

The ingredients are fresh - I will give them that but the pizza is soggy in the middle and the salad dressing is flavorless - it needs more vinegar as it is basically just oil and spices. This is the best darn pizza in all of Colorado. And the owner Peter is hilarious! I've lived in multiple states including New York, that being said, I would put Peter's pizza up against anyone. The crust is so delicious, it's literally like eating a pizza on top of a donut! And lastly, they use high quality ingredients. How do I know this? We stopped in here during a trip through Denver and seeing this place on Kitchen Nightmares. The storefront looks exactly as it did in the episode, big green awning. And as we walk through the door... there's Pete! We were star struck. We ordered the Aloha, and it was pretty good. The sauce was nice and flavorful, the capicola replacing ham was tasty. I am huge Gordon Ramsay fan and love pizza, so while in Denver, it was kinda a bucket list thing to do. The place had just opened and the lunch rush hadn't started yet, we found Pete by himself tending the store. He was really personable and nice. As we put our order in we threw it into his hands and asked for a good pizza, he threw he head back, laughed and said "All of them!" Then asked for a chef selection, and warned him of my allergy to bell peppers. He said would be careful and got to work. The pie came out and looked and smelled like heaven. When he brought plates he saw the bottom of one was dirty, so he said that it was not acceptable, and got me a new one. As we were the only customers, he asked how we knew his place, and just said Gordon" before I finished he had big smile on his face and said we a hell of a guy. We had meat pie and some chocolate cannolis and they were off the chart! (Cannoli was dusted with cinnamon and sugar. Pete was funny, attentive, polite and gave great service e as well as making our lunch. It's not far the freeway, in a working class neighborhood and I suggest giving it a try. My husband ordered pizza and pasta from this restaurant tonight and we never received it. It was through Grubhub delivery and our estimated delivery time had passed 20 minutes before, so we finally called the restaurant. No one answered. We tried a couple more times and finally gave up on the restaurant and called Grubhub support. After being placed on hold, the support team was able to get ahold of both the delivery person and the restaurant. We were told that the driver went to the restaurant to pick up our food and they HADN'T EVEN STARTED IT YET. By now it had been over an hour since we had ordered. Then, when support got ahold of the restaurant, apparently the staff was very rude to him. Not sure what they had to give him attitude about when they were the ones who hadn't yet started preparing food that was ordered over an hour before and was now 20 minutes late delivering..? Meanwhile, while my husband was on the phone with the Grubhub support team, I was still calling the restaurant from my phone to see if I could talk to someone. Nope, no one EVER ended up answering. How can you run a business without answering your phone?! We never even got to try this place and now we never will. Definitely my go to for pizza. I travel from north Denver to eat here and I've never been disappointed. The sauce is definitely made with fresh herbs, you can taste the oregano unlike your other watered sauces from other cooperate owned places. Pizza is made to order, boxed and served by the owner. Eating at Pantaleone's was an interesting experience. My fiance and I were the only patrons in the restaurant so we had the pleasure of engaging in conversation with the owner. A lot. He's very chatty and comes off really crass but I guess that can be charming. I really enjoyed our pizzas. Everything was fresh and yummy but the one-star rating was earned when the owner started talking about his distaste for LGBTQ folks. He brought up this conversation on his own and made both my fiance and I very uncomfortable with his homophobic and transphobic remarks. Great pizza, the crust had a very nice rosemary flavor and was delicious. I don't know when the toppings were added, but they somehow retained a great level of freshness on the pie when it came out. We also had a Greek salad that was very well compiled and the dressing was tangy and tasty. Although at $12, very overpriced. The pizza is the main event here though and the crust is in a league of its own. Definitely worth stopping in. We found out that the place was featured on Kitchen Nightmares after we ate and were very surprised. Gordon Ramsey definitely turned it around.
