Dr. Ball was the most disrespectful provider I have ever seen. Not only was the care terrible, but…read morethe custom orthotics, (which were very expensive) were so poorly made that another podiatrist shook her head at the quality. I took my partner to my second appointment with Dr. Ball to make sure I was not overreacting to his behavior. My partner agreed that he was very condescending. When I asked a question about my x-rays, he literally said to me, "You're not a radiologist." I didn't know Dr. Ball was either! Thought he was a podiatrist... Went to a different podiatrist with copies of the x-rays (as they do not provide a CD or have an online system so I can share the results). She explained in great detail all the parts of my feet that had issues. Per Dr. Ball, the only thing wrong with my feet was that my Achille's tendon was too tight. Nah, dude, there were so many things wrong. I told him that a previous podiatrist had told me that I had broken my foot. He told me he saw no evidence of a fracture, even after he re-reviewed the images. This new podiatrist right away told me about the break and pointed out how and why she knew it was broken at some point. The office staff (besides Rebecca) were some of the most unprofessional assistants I have encountered in health care. I could not speak with the provider, even though the plan of care he gave for me (a stretch and a boot to further stretch the Achille's tendon) were causing me more pain. Took months to get refunded money, even though I told the front office person that I had met my deductible. TL/DR: if you actually want care for a foot issue, go somewhere else.

This review is LONG overdue, but here I am! And I'm about this surgeon!…read more Dr. Cha did my ankle surgery in 2024 after a soccer injury left me with multiple ruptured ligaments, and I truly could not have had a better experience. From the beginning, I felt like I was diagnosed properly and knew exactly what needed to be done. The surgery went incredibly well, my recovery was much faster than I expected, and anytime I had a question or concern, he addressed it directly and honestly. His staff is also amazing and made the entire process so much easier. Also, kind of a weird thing to include in a review, but I get compliments on my scar ALL the time. It is barely noticeable, which I feel like deserves some recognition considering he had to put my ankle back together. Lol! As for Dr. Cha himself, if you're looking for warm and fuzzy, that may not exactly be the description. He has a very dry personality and sense of humor, which I personally found hilarious. I thought his personality was great! But more importantly, I found him to be excellent and knowledgeable surgeon! I trusted him completely (which says a lot since typically pretty skeptical of just about everyone.) And because apparently ankle surgery wasn't enough excitement, while I was there I also had him make me custom orthotics. Nothing makes you feel 800yo quite like being excited about orthotics, but I have to admit they have been LIFE CHANGING. I've recommended Dr. Cha to basically everyone I know who has a foot or ankle issue, and I'll continue to. Hopefully I never need another ankle surgery, but if I did, I wouldn't hesitate to go back to him. :)

I then brought in my 20-month-old son, who was running an extremely high fever and was visibly miserable, crying, and clearly in need of medical attention. Instead of checking my insurance immediately, the front-desk staff had me complete approximately 15 pages of new-patient paperwork. After I finished everything and waited another 15 minutes, I was finally told that the clinic was not in network with my insurance. This was incredibly frustrating and upsetting because insurance coverage was the very first question I asked before coming in. My sick toddler and I lost valuable time when he needed to be seen as quickly as possible. It would have taken only a few minutes to verify the insurance before requiring me to complete extensive paperwork. Perhaps the doctor provides excellent care, but the staff needs better training on how to handle urgent situations involving young, sick children. There was no sense of urgency, compassion, or respect for our time. Based on this experience, I would not recommend bringing your child here as a new patient without independently confirming your insurance coverage first.

I saw Dr. Briskin last year for minor foot pain. The appointment itself was fine, he recommended…read morephysical therapy and custom orthotics. Since my insurance covers one pair of orthotics every two years I agreed. A coworker in the same union with the exact same insurance plan had previously received full coverage for orthotics through this office, so I had no reason to expect an issue. When I received my bill, the orthotics were not fully covered. I first contacted my insurance company to verify my benefits, and they confirmed my coverage. I then contacted the billing department, where I was told they would reach out to my insurance. Instead, I continued receiving the same bill with no explanation. This cycle went on for a year. Believing it was a coding issue, I began calling the doctor's office directly because I needed the claim corrected and resubmitted. I left multiple messages and eventually spoke with a medical assistant who said they would look into it. The only result was another bill for the exact same amount. After that, every time I called the office and specifically asked to speak with the medical assistant, I was transferred to billing instead. Eventually, the office stopped taking my calls altogether. The only callback I received was from someone in billing who was extremely rude and repeatedly insisted the balance was my responsibility. He eventually suggested a three-way call with my insurance company. During that call, my insurance representative stated that the claim contained coding errors and that additional information from the doctor's office was needed for the claim to be processed correctly. They even commented that the coding "made no sense." Because billing could not correct the medical coding, both the billing representative and my insurance company instructed me to contact the doctor's office. Unfortunately, the office has continued to ignore my calls and messages. It has now been weeks without any response. When I contacted my insurance again to ask how to file a complaint, I was told I would need to appeal the claim, but I was now outside the 180-day appeal window and would probably be denied. They also informed me they had no record of the billing department ever contacting them, despite my being repeatedly told that they would. While my appointment with Dr. Briskin itself was uneventful, the complete lack of follow-up, poor communication, refusal to address what appears to be a coding error, and the dismissive treatment from the office and billing departments have been beyond frustrating. What should have been a simple billing correction turned into a year-long ordeal where I was repeatedly ignored, passed around, and left to fix a problem that was not of my making. The fact that the office allowed this situation to drag on for so long, then stopped responding entirely, is completely unacceptable. I have never experienced this level of disregard from a medical office before. A practice should not only provide care during an appointment but also take responsibility when issues arise afterward. Instead, I was left feeling dismissed and abandoned over a problem their own billing process created. I sincerely hope others think twice before trusting this office. No patient should have to spend over a year fighting just to get a simple insurance issue corrected. This has been an incredibly stressful and exhausting experience, and I would not recommend this practice to anyone.

This last visit, I was told by his office staff that my insurance would not pay for them. Now I have always had the same insurance, so I contacted my insurance company and they said the lady in the office put down the wrong code and to have her change it. I tried calling his office several times and they would not speak to me. I had the insurance people call instead, and the lady would not take their call. Bottom line now I am going to find a new Podiatrist. So sad, because I really like this doctor. Dr. Briskin's office staff is inefficient. Penny L.
