I had never had Papa Dupi's until recently. The food was good, but did seem to me a tad over priced. The waitress was very helpful with any questions myself or my family had since we had never been there before. The inside was set up nicely and we felt very comfortable. We will probably go back, but it will not be a regular thing. read more

While passing through Albertville, our family stopped here for dinner due to the good reviews. If it had been up to me, I wouldn't have chosen Papa Dubi's since I don't care for Cajun. However, I'm so glad we went there because we all agreed that this was hands down one of the best seafood meals we've ever had! We were seated promptly but soon the place was full and this was on a Thursday night. So I'm sure it's packed on weekends and it would definitely be worth waiting for a table. Our server, Balin, was awesome! He was very helpful with suggesting some of the customer favorites. Four of us ordered red fish with their crab & shrimp imperial sauce. I ordered my fish fried, while the others ordered theirs blackened and we all chose the Cajun rice. Balin said the rice wasn't too spicy and it would pair well with the imperial sauce since it was a little on the sweet side. So I was willing to try it. He was definitely right and the meal was fantastic! The entree also came with a good size garden salad, so our meals were more than any of us could eat. Both of the children ordered a sirloin and said it was very tender and delicious! We gave it a 9.5 to 10! I wish I had thought to take a picture to add to my review. The next time I am in Guntersville, I'll be driving on down to Albertville to visit Papa Dubi's! read more

Food was fantastic! We had crab claws and fried pickles to start. The ranch was amazing!! I had an old fashioned and it was very good! My meal was salmon on Cajun rice and I crushed it! The service was great and they even had live music! Loved this place and we will be back!!! read more

One of the best restaurants around, food is well seasoned and consistent. We love the shrimp dip, and the shrimp po'boy sandwiches.

I've eaten from here 3 times. First time was delish! But the next two times not so much. Doubt I'll go back anytime soon. Sorry.

In town visiting and oh my word! 10/10 recommend! I got the fried catfish basket - perfectly fried, crispy and flaky with just the right amount of seasoning! Hush puppies were amazing and the fries were perfectly crispy! Good size portion, too! Husband got the Cajun mac and cheese with shrimp and it was quite tasty! Sauce was rich with just the right level of spice. We also ordered a cup of the sausage and chicken jambalaya and it was SO GOOD! Service was outstanding; friendly and FAST! Was great, now mediocre. Not as good after move to new, larger building. Less of family atmosphere, too much hustle to eat to get to next customer. Food more packaged feel/taste, rather than personally prepared . Guess compromises must be made to serve more people. Drinks were good though. Will go back, only Cajun food in area. read more

We had the Seafood Gumbo, which was very good, but not very spicy. We also had the Fried Seafood Platter which was wonderful. Had half the Crawfish Tail Po'boy & half the Oyster Po'boy with bacon added. They were huge and full of seafood. Half was more than a meal!! Everything we ordered was soooo good. We had the bang bang shrimp and jambalaya to start. Then we had the shrimp po boy and fettuccine with grilled chicken. Tonight, we decided to try something different after a stressful day. We were immediately seated, and our waitress Yesenia came over and took our drink order. I had the blackened grouper with the imperial shrimp sauce and Cajun rice. This was some of the best I have ever had, and my wife had the coconut Shrimp, outstanding. Being from New Orleans, it's hard to not nitpick this style cuisine but the only complaint I have is that the portion size on the grouper plate was pretty small for the price. Everything was MOUTHWATERING delicious though and super surprising!! I can imagine that they stay really busy so expect a long wait. Our wait wasn't too bad, but there's not really a place to wait except a couple of benches outside or your car (which honestly isn't terrible). Definitely will be back-- such good food!!! read more

As a Mississippi Girl who was raised by a coonass, I have eaten plenty of Cajun food in my life. My husband and I moved to Alabama recently and have been searching for good seafood. We have eaten at many places that other people recommended that were horrible. Well, we are slow learners, so we took another friend's advice and tried Papa Dubi's. Y'all!! Their food is fantastic! I felt like I was back home. We had the boiled shrimp appetizer. It was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly. For dinner, he had the blackened redfish with Cajun rice and I had the shrimp Alfredo with broccoli. Both were excellent! Dessert was key lime pie and bread pudding. Both were great! Service was also exceptional. We were seated quickly, even though they were very busy. Food came out fast. I highly recommend this place! We will definitely be back! Papa Dubi's in AL was an unexpected surprise when we stopped in before heading back to GA. The atmosphere was pleasant, service fantastic and the food excellent from Gumbo ( a must try) to catfish. If you are out for something unique try the crawfish. read more
