This place used to be great but now it's just a disappointment. The prices used to be competitive, delivery used to be free, & the staff used to be competent. Now, however, the prices seem to keep rising, they started charging for delivery (& were, quite frankly, very rude when asked about it) and the girl ringing up the order couldn't figure out how to change a one topping pizza in the family meal deal to a specialty pizza. These places never seem to make it for long once they start making these kinds of changes & quality drops. I know I won't be recommending them to anyone like I was before. There'll be another good pizza place to replace them eventually... Update...tried to give this place another chance. Called in and order and was told it would be ready for pick up in 20 minutes. We showed up to pick it up on time and paid then were made to wait an additional 20 minutes before we asked why it was taking so long. The same girl lied and said she wouldn't have told me 20 minutes she would have told me 30. (Even though it had been 40 at that point) Lied as if I wouldn't know the difference. FINALLY at the 52 minute mark it was read. No apology for it taking more than twice the time we were quoted. Last time I'll ever come here! read more

They had the nerve to give us a menu and then charge us more than the menu prices s based on the fact that their new menus would be in soon. So our 15 dollar pizza became 16.95' our Samford went from 9.99 to 10.99 and the drink went from 2.25 to 2.50. Not a huge amount of money but extremely unethical. I just got home with my takeout order from Papa Gios. I ordered their large Greek salad (no onions). I was hungry for a good Greek salad as described in their menu - fresh mixed greens with TOMATO, pepperoncini, pitted Greek olives, and FETA (I really like feta cheese - and it is what makes a Greek salad for me. Much to my disappointment, when I arrived home, my $8.50 salad was a tray of lettuce, two tiny slivers of tomato, two slices of cucumber, a pepperoncini, a few olives, and NO FETA (or any other type of) cheese! read more

I've eaten here a lot. The pizza is hit or miss depending on whose working. Usually if it's not the guy that owns it on the pizza station, I don't typically have high expectations - unfortunately. Today my husband and I decided to dine in, which we have never done. There were only two other tables seated when we got there. The server (a dark haired female, I don't even think she gave us her name) appeared disheveled. Her hair was a mess, her clothes were baggy and dragging the floor. We were the only table she waited on, as the other girl handled the other two tables. She brought us our drinks (a water, and a lemonade) and the lemonade tasted like pool water with a crystal light packet in it. She came back, we placed our order - a cheese steak sandwich special and a chicken parm. Five minutes later the server came back and asked us to repeat our order - which we did... Which automatically set us on high alert that something was going to come out wrong. Meanwhile we watched the kitchen staff seemingly disorganized around the kitchen, and watched the one older guy with the glasses get irritated that he made the wrong dish, and tried to hide the fact that he dug his fingers all in someone's food to correct it. Sorry my dude, I saw you. Just grateful it wasn't mine. After a 30 minute wait, we were served our food, and just as I suspected... It was wrong. The server had ordered me a chicken parm sandwich instead of the pasta dish... Which is not what I asked for. But since we had waited so long, I decided to say nothing and eat it. How a chicken parm sandwich can be dry is beyond me. Very little sauce, bread was burnt and it was the wimpiest piece of chicken I've ever seen. It's sad when Burger King can make a rival chicken parm sandwich. The cheese steak was also dry, bland, the veggies were burnt and there was virtually no cheese on it. It was more bread than anything. I honestly hate to even write this review because I do like the owner, and again, when he's there the pizza is on point. Sadly, when he's not it seems his staff just runs and muck and produces sub par food - and with inflation, every penny counts. Maybe its an East Coast thing but this has been hands down the worst pizza I have had since moving here. The crust was like a limp noodle, zero flavor in the sauce and the sausage was just bad. Why is it so hard to get real sausage, sauce with a taste and a crust that doesn't fold itself? I ate a few slices anyway since I was hungry and put the rest in the fridge. Freaking awesome pizza!! Unfortunately they don't serve brewed sweet tea. The chicken marsala was more like boiled chicken in a marsala soup. Ordered at 5:45. Was quoted 75 minute delivery time, so we got excited at 7pm. Bear in mind, this place has good pizza, so I was ok with waiting. Also noteworthy, I live less than 5 miles/12 minutes away... Called shortly after 7 and got told "it's on the way we're sorry" Finally got my pizza at just before 7:30. Ice cold. 35 bucks for a pizza and a 2l of Sprite almost 2 hrs later. Here's where my issue comes in. I call back heated, and OF COURSE there's no manager on duty for me to speak to. There's the root cause of this insanity. If that's true, then at its core understaffing is the root cause of your problem. But I doubt it, to be honest... I'm guessing its probably some kid that got a "manager" namtag because they're old enough to close up and get the nightly deposit right the 1st time. Just an assumption on my part but I do have 20+ years of restaurant management backing up how I feel about the clown college you call a business at this point... great time to add that when I called to speak to a manager the 2nd time I was told I could get a replacement as long as I gave the original back. I ordered delivery from them because, to be honest, their selection was astounding. It took almost an hour and a half for them to deliver when we were given a 45-60 minute delivery time frame. When the food finally made it to our door it was barely luke warm. The food was tolerable. Definitely not worth the price. However, I will not be so nice about the results of eating the food. My fiancé had food poising so bad that he called out of work the next day for the first time in his career. I'm a firm supporter of small businesses but I refuse to support businesses that refuse to keep its customers safe! Only one staff person was wearing a mask, there were approximately 5-6 other staff members present. I inquired about the lack of masks and was informed that only the front-end (cashier) wears one so this means the cooks/chefs/delivery personnel etc. DO NOT WEAR MASKS. I did not even see them wearing gloves in the food prep area. The lack of gloves when handling food is truly disturbing but my brain is wrecked just thinking about how many other food health and safety violations are happening on a daily basis. Then the manager got on the phone and it went downhill from there. I would NOT recommend this place for take out or even eating in there. This place doesn't care about their customers. I've ordered from here several times bc you can order online ad they deliver. They are capable of being delicious. Last night my eggplant parm (which is what I rider every time) wasn't cooked all the way and was unchewable. My husbands pizza didn't have any sauce on it. Both were disappointing. We received the mailer for this establishment a couple weeks ago and have been waiting for it to open. I always support local business before going to a chain so I couldn't wait to try this place out; it's in the neighborhood and delivers for free with a minimum purchase. Anyway, today I did a test run with their $9.99 cheese pizza special (mon and tues). After a hiccup the management was solid and their level of customer service was fantastic. Every new place has growing pains and that's fine. The pie itself was phenomenal; perfectly cooked and perfect flavor. I'm a damn yankee so I am a pizza snob.
