I have been looking forward to Roberto's since I got back from being deployed. Large Pepperoni with extra sauce!!!!! Amazing. Love their sauce and as long it's fresh and hot it is amazing. Roberto's Pizza is a a phenomenal place to eat at with great bang for your buck. I went with some friends who are in the area and love the subs here. They say any sub you get is going to be good ($11 for a large). I decided to get the angel hair pasta with meat sauce and grilled chicken for $15. My meal came with a side salad, which I did not think much of until it came out with a beautiful presentation and a perfect mesh of various veggies. The lettuce was clean and crisp, and the mixture was diverse with peppers and surprisingly one of the best salads I have ever had (granted I hadn't eaten all day, but the point still stands). I have also not had pasta this good in a long time. The meat sauce is packed with good beef and not super fatty with red sauce. It was perfectly mixed to have great flavor and not be greasy or feel heavy. The grilled chicken was tender and delicious, though a little light in amount given in contrast to the meat sauce meat. That being said, the meat to pasta balance was good. There were also two small pieces of garlic bread given which were delicious. They were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with a moderate amount of butter and garlic which again, was delicious without feeling unhealthy. The service was friendly. They deliver your food for you when it is ready and give you cups for water at the counter. The building has plenty of seating and is well-air conditioned. Since we needed to make a stop at the Pennsylvania bakery, we thought we would stop in here at Roberto's and grab a quick lunch. Roberto's is another one of these establishments in the Camphill area that has been around for many years . I ordered a large cheese steak and fries and the wife had the cheeseburger sub and fries both with sodas, and they did not disappoint. They bake their bread, fresh daily or actually on a spot very very very fresh. Everything was outstanding. . Service was very quick, efficient and attentive . The ambience is a typical pizza shop. A few years ago, I worked in Camp Hill and, at times, would pick up subs to bring home (Hanover area) for dinner. So, now when we're up in the Camp Hill area, Roberto's is somewhere we will stop for a very good sub!!! The service is always very good, when our food was done, they brought it out to our table. Been going to Roberto's for a number of years but the past year or so they have gone downhill. I'm thinking they're under new ownership because the guy (Gary) who I know that owned Roberto's would not allow quality and service to drop down as much as it has.. things like getting orders wrong when called in...they shouldn't allow employees who are NOT fluent in English answer the phone and/or take orders. Too many times my order is wrong. In addition, I have noticed inconsistent quality in food...specifically subs on many occasions are not full like they use to be...I'm thinking I need to add extra meet to my order...but shouldn't have to...prices have gone up as expected but quality has gone down. Frequent lunch destination for this guy - convenient & good choices from the pizza to the subs. Go-to order here is a cheesesteak with mushrooms - often subs are part of the lunch specials (free drink). Place is usually not overly packed when I show up (usually after 1pm) & service is always fast. Order at the counter & the food is brought to the table. Subs are good as is the bread. I'm trying to broaden my horizons and eat at different pizza places to see what I might be missing, so here we go to Roberto! I'll be nice a go with a 3.5 rounded up. Pizza was a solid 3, maybe 3.5. Like all pizza, pretty good, but not really good or outstanding in any way. It looked great, it felt great, but it just didn't have the flavor I was hoping it would. Maybe an entire pie would change my mind, but fresh lunchtime slices are usually a safe baseline. Today I went with the cheesesteak because I someone else eating one the other day. For $7.95 it was huge and came with a free fountain drink. It was a little wet inside the bun, but I really liked the flavors. To my surprise, the bread was excellent even though a little wet. It was crispy on both the top and the bottom and being the same though is the pizza, I didn't think it would taste as good as it did. The bathroom was definitely a detractor in factoring this review because it was pretty nasty. However, I don't think it would've changed the star rating from a true 3.5. I might be back or I might continue my adventure of trying new places and new things. read more

My husband and I went here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. The staff was very friendly when taking our order and the whole layout of the restaurant seemed very comfortable. There were large booths, spacey tables, and a movie playing on the television. We ordered a spinach calzone, fried zucchini, and fries, and we were very impressed by the amount of food they gave us for the appetizers and how big the calzone was for being labeled as "small". Last week one evening I ordered a pizza at dinner time from Roberto's. Been going here for 40+ years. Our kids go there and now our grandkids. I have a newfound respect for this local icon - as I was waiting for my pizza two boys came in (maybe 3rd grade and maybe 5th grade). The walked over to the chips and chose some. Then they looked at a freestanding menu for a few minutes and walked up to order. A man behind the counter asked what they wanted. They ordered "2 lunch specials, and mozzarella sticks". (Remember it's dinner time). The man said to them those are lunch specials.. and when they started looking a bit confused he didn't skip a beat saying "but I got you". He then whispered to the cashier what happened and they proceeded as if nothing was wrong. He then nonchalantly walked to the freestanding menu and turned it around and went back to work. WOW! Looking at the other reviews... I was expecting some great pizza. ...It was ok, and I did eat it all. The crust was cooked excellent, but was missing some flavor. The sausage was very scarce, could have used more... and not the best flavor. Sauce was very good. I liked the area and homeyness, but the place was dirty. The only clean spot on the entry door was the knob. The condiments sitting on the pizza pan where bad ( Parmesan - salt/pepper - Italian herbs) all need to be tossed. The herbs tasted like straw, the cheese shaker was no good. The pepper had turned white with age, and it was filthy. The employees where not unfriendly.... just did not want you to be there. I've been eating here since I was 12 (which is notable because I am a totally old lady now). I have always been a huge champion of this establishment and their product. I ordered food here frequently. I referred people here. I've catered parties and business meetings here. I've purchased gift certificates for my mail person at Christmas time here. I once fed my ENTIRE hair salon lunch from this place. And while their subs and Sicilian pizza have maintained their delicious natures over the past 3 decades, I'm confident that I just walked out of Roberto's for the last time. I'm not exactly sure who Roberto is, but his employees act like their formulating a bipartisan COVID solution -- not making takeout "Italian" food. I get it. You're busy. Your hands are filled with delicious cheese that I'm trying to shovel into my unhinged jaw. It can be hard on your wrists to toss a pizza. I've worked at pizza places and bars in Pittsburgh and Philly. Orders stack up. But, that doesn't excuse any staff from treating loyal customers (or any customer, really) like common trash. And all I'm really asking for is a "Hello, I'll be with you in a second" instead of a stone cold lobotomized stare from two dull bulbs poking out from atop a ridiculous mustache. And when I say "ignore" I don't mean these mouth breathing asshats didn't pay me enough attention, or mixed up my order, or failed to give me freebies in exchange for my loyalty. They literally let me stand at a register, of an empty restaurant, for a full eight minutes, in unbelievably awkward silence, and didn't even bother to REPLY when I said "Hey!" (which one tends to do when they were raised by decent people and not...I don't know, feral, pizza wizard wombats). And, you know, if this were an isolated incident, I'd let it slide. In fact, I have -- several times. After all, feeding me totally solid food for almost 40 years MEANS something to me. This is unequivocally the third or fourth time in recent history that I have seen either myself, or other clientele, treated in a less than favorable manner and my theory on the topic is this: Roberto's knows they have a standout product and that has lead them to think that their customers will put up totally crap customer service to get their carb fix. And while that might work for some other people, it won't work for me. Not anymore. So, you do what you want, but I'll be taking my frequent and substantial orders to one of the other many establishments in the area who can both handle it and deal with their front of house. Because restaurants don't just make food in a vacuum. They make food for a community. And that community has a choice. And I choose good food AND good service, which means I won't be eating here, ordering from here, having here delivered, recommending here, or doing anything else for "here" that will benefit them anymore, or indeed, ever again. I never had a crossword with any staff member. I was always happy with the food that I received. Then be day in 08, I ordered a submarine and I was treated like I was the scourge of the earth. They wouldn't tell me why. My order came up and it was practically thrown at me. They didn't have time to discuss it with me and went to the next costumer. From the time we walked in till the time the order came out it was very fast. If the bread isn't good then the sub normally aren't in my opinion. The bread is fresh and very tasty. The subs are loaded with whatever you order. Ok, the 14 inch pizza is a nice size, the ingredients are fresh and portions on pizza generous. This review will be for their pizza. This past Sunday (3/8) I stopped-in to try a slice of pizza as part of my quest to find my favorite pizza in my new locale. I definitely was not disappointed, but am finding that every single pizza place I go to has once component that I really, really like, where some of the other components fall a little short. Food: I order the same thing at every new pizza place that I go to. Cheese pizza. It is the easiest way to benchmark every other pizza place against each other. Unfortunately, I did not have any friends with me, so I did not order any wings (another very, very important aspect to me). Despite that, I sat down with my slice of pizza and enjoyed it. Dough: The dough was slightly above average. It had a nice consistency to it, good flavor, springy texture (yet still tender), and it held-up really well against the sauce and the cheese. I hate dough that becomes soggy or overly-floppy from sauce and cheese! Dough: 3.5 / 4 Sauce: This is the one component that I was fond of. It tasted like tomatoes! Some sauces taste overly-processed, overly-seasoned, or both. THis sauce had a nice, fresh tomato flavor, with a pleasant acidic bite to it that helped contrast the dough and the cheese. Despite how much I liked this sauce though, I am a fan of fresh herbs, and missed the flavor of fresh basil. I love a fresh basil undertone in my sauces, and this one fell a little flat there; but still very good. Sauce: 4 / 5 Cheese: The cheese might have been the most disappointing part; but not disappointing that it took-away from the pizza. For me, the top of the cheese did not get bubbly enough, and it was a touch too salty with the rest of the ingredients factored in. Despite that, there was a good amount of it, and it melted really nicely over the pizza. Cheese: 3 / 5 Overall Pizza Score: 3 / 5 (3.5 rounded-down to a 3) Service: The service was friendly, courteous, and prompt. There was nothing that stood-out to me; neither in a good way, or a bad way Service: 3 / 5 Atmosphere: This is a nice, big space for a pizza place. It was really clean, and it had a television that I watched while I enjoyed my slice. I really liked the setup and the atmosphere of the restaurant, and for that, I would come back here with my family and enjoy a whole pie. Lastly, it felt warm and inviting. Atmosphere: 4 / 5 Price: My slice of pizza was 1.59 after taxes. For lunch, I cannot make anything cheaper (with the exception of chicken broth). The slice was gratuitous. Some pizza slices leave a little bit to be desired on size. This one definitely did not. As such, I feel like I got a very good value, for a quality slice of pie. Price: 4 / 5 Final Thoughts: I liked Roberto's, and I will likely come back to try some other menu items -- especially the wings. For now, I will continue to search my area for the pizza place that i deem to be my favorite. Though this was good, some slight balance issues with the salt and the lack of some fresh ingredients (more specifically, basil) prevented Roberto's from being in the upper-echelon of pizza for me. Average pizza. Weak on our toppings on our large. $1.50 for the very few green peppers is not right. Crust is a little tough I think cause the sauce is too light too. And for that matter the cheese. Was in the area and on Google Maps, I typed in "meatball subs" and it immediately put Roberto's in my destination. I took it as a sign and went there for lunch. Holy cow. Don't let looks deceive you, what looks like a scary dive on the outside homes one of the best meatball subs I've ever had. The bread is apparently homemade and delicious and the sauce to cheese to meatball to bread ratio is down to a science. The prices are not bad, and the workers were very nice. I will definitely be returning and look forward to trying other stuff. My friend got the cold club sub and is enjoying it heavily. Man, what a good establishment. read more

Face Mask Policy Not Enforced or Respected. There were 2 employees. One did not even have a face mask and the other employee did not bother to cover his nose. Also, over half of the Take Out customers did not wear a mask either. I have been a loyal customer for years and really like their pizza and subs, but they don't understand that the coronavirus hurts and kills people.
