    Bob F.

This is by far one of the BEST places to get ur pizza the way u want it! I like mine on thin crust w ham, feta cheese and mushrooms! If you haven't tried it, you should, it's awesome!!! They quality and service are great and Sam & his brother are always so welcoming and kind! I would definitely recommend this place for their food and their hospitality. Bravo!!!

First time ordering from this restaurant. Ordered food via Yelp delivery (was cheaper than grub hub and doordash) and it was right on time. We are so glad we gave this place a try! The cheese pizza is my new Harrisburg favorite with tons of cheese and a thin, chewy crust. The Italian sub was delicious--the bread was fresh and soft and it had the perfect amount of filling--I really liked the super shredded lettuce. And last but not least, the chicken parm was amazing! It comes with a large salad and garlic bread, which were also very good. The garlic bread looked a little over toasted but it didn't have any effect on taste. We will definitely be ordering from here again!

Great pizza!!! In town for a conference and was in the mood for pizza and although Roberto's was the fourth on the list of places in the area, they had the best photo of a pizza, so took a chance. Super happy that I did. Ordered the BBQ Chicken Pizza (grilled chicken, green peppers, onions, mozzarella cheese and BBQ sauce) to be delivered via Grub Hub. It came faster than advertised and was nice and hot. The flavors melded together perfectly and there were nice sized chunks of chicken in every bite. The crust had a good chew to it and it was good to the last bite. Read that their white pizza is a winner also, so the next time in the area that will be my choice.

Food and service quality is at a maximum, that being said this is the best pizza in town!

Ham and Cheese Sandwich....not what I ordered.

Ordered a sandwich hot Italian Grinder. They gave me a cold ham sandwich. Guy delivering was so slow sauntering down the hallway talking on speaker phone the whole time. Didn't have the whole order said it was down in his car and he would bring it back. We all know that was not going to happen. Worst customer service I have had in a while.

This is probably the reason most entertainers and people of fame who come from Harrisburg move away and don't say they are from there But anyway... Me, having Philly family and being a Philly fan of everything, especially those Eagles (don't stop reading because of that!), I had a chance to get a cheesesteak from South Philly Hoagie, and let me tell you, I was impressed. The bread makes everything, and then of course the meat. I ordered mine with mayonnaise, cheese whiz, and of course, mushrooms. Now, I did order it through the Uber Eats app, and I wish I could've added provolone, but I never had to add pizza sauce to my cheesesteak until today. I'm glad I did! It made it pop, even though it was missing that provolone. One thing I do wish is that they would actually take the bread and get some of that steak juice right on the bun. Other than that, I'm not mad at it. Of course, it's not Philly. It didn't bounce me right back to the hometown of Will Smith, and it didn't have me saying "I'M A WORK OF ART." However, I was pleased and satisfied. Maybe the flavoring can hold me over until my next pay next week so I can take a train down to Philly. The French fries were amazing, if I must say. The sub was plenty full and had plenty of meat on it. If you asked me, "Would I buy this again?" Yes, I definitely would! And I would do it over-the-counter so I can have it my way, like Burger King! There were a few…read morepeople there when we arrived, and more filtered in as the evening went on--always a good sign. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe Cheesesteak for $16, while my dining companion went with a traditional Cooper cheesesteak with onions and peppers on a non-seeded roll ($15), plus an order of tater tots ($5). We both grabbed sodas for $3 each, and our grand total--including tip--was just over $50. The traditional Cooper cheesesteak, tots, and sodas were pretty run-of-the-mill--solid, satisfying, and exactly what you'd expect. But the Cacio e Pepe Cheesesteak? That deserves special attention. The Cheesesteak Guy raves about this sandwich on Facebook, describing it as a fusion of the classic Philly cheesesteak and the Roman pasta dish Cacio e Pepe--and for once, the hype is fully justified. Thinly sliced ribeye topped with melted Pecorino Romano and a generous amount of freshly cracked black pepper, all on a perfectly seeded roll. It was rich, indulgent, and gloriously peppery in the best way. Plenty of Pecorino (which is currently my favorite cheese), bold flavor, and a roll that held everything together beautifully. Truly perfection in a bun--tender, savory, and downright unforgettable. My only suggestion? A little more consistency in the meat prep. Some chunks of ribeye inside my sandwich were quite large and seemed to miss the slice-and-dice phase. Still delicious, but smaller, evenly chopped pieces would make it easier to eat and even better overall. That said, I'll absolutely be back--Patty Melt and Greek Burger are already on my list. Bonus points for plentiful free parking since it's located in a strip mall. One tip if you're going at night: pay close attention, because the sign isn't lit and can be easy to miss in the dark. If you're craving a cheesesteak with a creative twist, don't sleep on the Cacio e Pepe. It's something special.

On a late August Friday evening, Momma Pat's finally had its turn when I decided it sounded perfect for Friday night date night. I'd read that wait times can sometimes get a little long, so I called around 4:30pm to place my order ahead of time. They told me it would be about 30 to 35 minutes, which was perfect because it would take me nearly that long to get there anyway. PRO TIP: Call ahead! Momma Pat's is only open Thursday through Saturday from 11am to 7pm, and after seeing the size of the place and tasting the food, I completely understand why ordering ahead is a good idea. I pulled in about 35 minutes later and easily found parking. There were a few people enjoying the beautiful evening at picnic tables outside, and then I opened the door to go inside and actually laughed out loud. When I tell you Momma Pat's is tiny, I mean TINY. Literally one little room. But it was charming in this wonderfully laid-back, no-frills, very Perry County kind of way, and I immediately loved it. My order was ready when I walked up to the counter, but then I spotted cannolis on the menu for $3.50. Obviously, I needed one. Friday night date night isn't complete without dessert. My original order was a 12-inch Spicy Italian hoagie, a small order of Old Bay fries and a side of cheese sauce. With the cannoli added, I was still right around $20. In this economy?! I was suspicious. Then they handed me a bag of food that was SIGNIFICANTLY heavier than I expected, and my suspicion quickly turned into excitement. I squirreled my haul into the car and headed home for a picnic in the beautiful weather. First up were the Old Bay fries. The container actually held plain fries with two little cups of sauce. One was clearly the cheese sauce I'd ordered. The other was a mystery. Assuming it had something to do with my Old Bay fries, I opened it, dipped a finger in and tasted it. Oh...HELLO! I have absolutely no idea what was in that sauce beyond some glorious combination of Old Bay, spice and what tasted like hot peppers, but it was FANTASTIC! I decided to dip my fries instead of pouring the sauce over them, and my only regret was running out of sauce long before I ran out of fries. The fries themselves were pretty standard pizza shop fries. That mystery sauce, though? THAT'S the story. Next, I opened the cannoli. When I'd ordered it, they called the order back to the kitchen, which made me wonder if they're filled to order. Whatever they're doing back there, keep doing it! I opened the box to find a big, fat cannoli generously piped with filling, topped with chocolate and covered in powdered sugar. I firmly believe you should eat dessert first just in case something catastrophic happens before you finish dinner, so naturally I started there. Excellent decision! The filling was sweet without being overwhelmingly sweet, the chocolate was just enough to set everything off and the shell was perfectly crisp. For $3.50, I'd happily order another one. And then came the main event. The 12-inch Spicy Italian hoagie. I picked it up and immediately started grinning because THIS THING WAS HEAVY. I carefully unwrapped it and found a seeded roll absolutely stuffed with Italian meats, cheese and everything I'd asked them to put on it, including a pile of spicy peppers across the top. It was one of the best-looking hoagies I've seen in a very long time. Then I took my first bite. GOOD. LORD. The whole thing was incredible! The meats and cheese tasted fresh, the lightly toasted seeded roll was the perfect delivery system for the mountain of goodness stuffed inside and those spicy peppers on top absolutely made it for me. I would like to formally petition for spicy peppers to become their own food group because I apparently need significantly more of them in my diet. The hoagie was enormous. Between that, the fries and the cannoli, there was enough food here to easily feed two people, probably more depending on appetites. I actually checked my receipt again because I couldn't quite believe I'd gotten that much really good food for around $20. The staff were fantastic throughout the entire experience, too. They were friendly when I called to place my order, had everything ready when promised, happily accommodated my last-minute cannoli addition and got me back out the door quickly to enjoy my Friday night. I'm not sure I can recommend Momma Pat's as somewhere you should STOP for dinner. I think Momma Pat's needs to be the DESTINATION. Generous portions. Really great food. Friendly people. Ridiculously reasonable prices. And a tiny little South Philly-style hoagie shop in Duncannon that I somehow managed to live near for all these years without knowing existed. Well, I know now. And from here on out,

It was one day about 3 months ago, my wife and me had a hankering for a really good cheese steak sub. We punched in the request in our GPS and several places displayed upon the screen. After a quick check on reviews of the various locations, we settled on South Philly Hogies. Although the trip was 18 minutes away at 23 miles, off we went to try this establishment. We both ordered the California Cheese Steak and fries. We drove home and I can tell you by far this was the best Cheese Steak we had ever eaten. The bread it is served on is so soft and fresh and they have no issues with making it your way. I would be remiss if I didn't make mention that the staff are always nice and friendly. The quality and quantity that you get with your order almost seems impossible these days. We were so pleased that every time a family visits us here in PA, South Philly Hogies will always get a stop from us. We enjoyed every bite and discovered that we like it so much that as soon as we receive our food, we travel to the shopping mall and eat on the lot. We never make it home now with our food. All you hear in the car is lips smacking and people saying "um, um , um" I must also report that they are truly wonderful with regard to prices. I have paid upwards of almost $30.00 for the food we ordered from other establishments and the food was not that great at all. Not wishing to see price increased at this location but I would gladly pay a little more because they are that good. Thank you guys for doing such a great job with your service and your food. But honestly, these cheesesteaks are good enough with just steak and cheese. The fries here are shoestring, which is perfect if you don't want soggy fries when you let them sit. Penn Steaks uses beef tallow which gives it a bit more savory taste. I'm not really into beef tallow for frying, yet I still enjoyed then. I'd still prefer Five Guys fries over these.
