After moving to Folsom, my wife and I have been on the hunt for a great pizza place. In the past, we've always liked--if not loved--Papa John's. Our first experience here wasn't great because our pizza was burnt, but we decided to give it a second try. After driving home from a trip up in Northern California, we thought, "Hey, why not order some pizza from Papa John's?" We were about 10 minutes away from home when we ordered a Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza--my all-time favorite toppings--along with some cheese sticks. Unfortunately, the second experience wasn't much better. The pizza was dry, overcooked, and lacked the signature Papa John's quality and flavor that customers expect. It just didn't have that fresh, satisfying taste that usually makes it stand out. That said, each time we've had delivery, our driver has been friendly, professional, and has brought our food right to our door. If Corporate doesnt step in and do something about this Pizza place, I can't say I'm going to order from them a 3rd time. In Folsom there is a Pizza Restaurant on every corner and if push comes to shove, I WILL go else where. I refuse to spend my hard earned money on pizza that LACKS that Papa Johns taste. read more

I ordered for takeout, a Shaq-a-roni and garlic parm wings. This XL pizza is supposed to come with extra cheese and extra pepperoni, but the toppings were scarce, I'm talking about 2 pepperoni per slice, and the slices on an extra large are pretty big. The advertisement makes it look like the entire thing is covered in pepperoni. Also didn't like how sweet the pizza sauce was. The sauce on the wings was very oily and bland. The lady who was working was very nice, too bad the food didn't hold up. I can't see myself returning here. read more

After not having papa John's for a long while we decided to try it. We've been here a couple of times since. It was good. It comes with a garlic sauce which is my favorite. We got the bbq chicken pizza and cheese bread. It was fresh and really good. The deals are really good as well. Definitely would recommend. read more

I left the store feeling threatened, disrespected, and unsafe. I did not receive the food I paid for, and I was subjected to behavior from Sam the manager that no customer or human being should ever have to endure. This interaction was not only rude but bordering on verbal abuse by Sam the manager. What was supposed to be a routine food pickup turned into a hostile confrontation that left me shaken. I ordered two items: an order of breadsticks and a grilled buffalo chicken papadia. However, I received only eight and undercooked breadsticks instead of the ten that were advertised, and the papadia was incorrect. It was the Italian version, not what I ordered. The combination of receiving the wrong order, the refusal to correct it, and the aggression from Sam the manager constitutes more than a bad customer service experience. It is a breach of basic decency and professionalism. I felt unsafe and unwelcome in your establishment, and that is simply unacceptable. read more

We ordered a pizza here because the price seemed good and it was ready and had been sitting for a bit when we arrived to pick it up. Overall it was fine but we didn't receive any utensils or napkins which would have been nice. It's hard to give anything but 3 stars as this is the same plain pepperoni pizza you will get from any pizza place for an affordable price and if they have a deal on or good price I would say it will be just as good as any other place.If you are looking for something exceptional, this is not the one. That being said, I would come here again if they had a deal but I would make sure to ask for anything extra, like plates, etc in person when I arrive for pick up. read more

Wish I could give lower than 1 star review. I completed an online order for my pizza at 3:00 pm on October 31 2025 asking for a 6:30 pm delivery. When my pizza did not arrive at 6:30 pm I began tracking it. By 6:45 my pizza still had not been delivered. I tried multiple times to call the store and no one answered. The phone would just ring and then hang up. At 7 PM I finally decided to go down to the store and inquire about my order. The ONLY reason I went down to the store is my credit card had already been charged for the order. When I arrived, I discovered my order had not even been started yet. They said they were busy.....I asked how is it I ordered a pizza at 3PM for a 6:30 PM delivery but you still are too busy to have filled that order. They said they had to get pickup orders completed ahead of mine because DoorDash or other carriers will ding them if they do not deliver on time. Because I ordered directly from them online I was not a priority. They completed my order after I waited 20 minutes. They would not refund me the "delivery fee" or the "driver tip" amount which came to $16.49. I asked why not you did not complete a delivery to me, I am here picking it up. They said that the computer system was new and did not "allow for that". They then said they would take care of me on my "next order" by either giving me % off of the order or giving me some free pizza. They would make a note on my "account". I don't have an "account" with them as this was the first time I had ever ordered from them. We are new to the town and I was extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism, honesty and customer service. I do not understand how they feel they can keep money for services they did not provide. It is a very dishonest way of doing business. They are an unorganized, unprofessional, discourteous and lack the ability to actually provide any type of customer service. They have no ability to listen to a customer with a legitimate complaint/concern and just want to dismiss you as quickly as possible. They actually told me they could not talk to me because they had to get my pizza made........ With so many other options available in this amazing area, we will not be returning to the store. This is our favorite big franchise / local pizza place. We love the hand tossed pizza and the crust is second to none. I usually order for takeout and appreciate the savings as well as the Papa dough. Our go to order is X-large 1 topping pizza, honey chipotle chicken wings. Always a great experience at this Papa John's! Not only is the food consistently hot and fresh, but the staff really go above and beyond with their service. They remembered my boyfriend's name when he came in to pick up our online order--such a small thing, but it makes a big difference! They're always super timely with getting orders ready, and we love the little surprises--like getting two pepperoncinis instead of one and a couple of extra sauce packets. The owners are very friendly, efficient, clean, and fast, which is all good. The Corporate customer service is nonexistent; they won't answer the phone and hang up as soon as you connect. I am a huge fan of Papa John's and was bummed a few years ago when the only Folsom location closed. They are probably my favorite of the national pizza chains. They have just recently opened up a new location in Folsom and I couldn't be happier. Even though it is now the closest pizza joint to my home I doubt I will get to visit that much as the mrs. is not a fan. Luckily, the mrs. went out boozing with her friends last night and I had to watch the little lady and her friend who was spending the night. I checked the website and they had a Grand Opening deal, any large pizza for $10. Ordered online and it was easy as pie. Was sent an email when to arrive and when I got there the pizza was ready. Out and back in less than 15 minutes. The order was "John's Favorite" (Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, and a six-cheese blend of mozzarella, parmesan, romano, asiago, provolone and fontina). Normally I get Bacon and Jalapeño but since I had two kids to consider I went simple. The Original crust has a nice pillowy texture that I enjoy. It is almost undercooked which I like (the reason the mrs. despises them). The sauce could be a little more robust. The toppings were very generous and baked into the cheese. The cheese was a little muted and I had trouble discerning between the cheeses and really only could make out Mozarella. The Italian Sausage was damn tasty. It had more of a Country Sausage flavor profile rather than Italian Sausage. What always pushes Papa John's to the front in the national pizza chains wars is the Pepperoncini and the Garlic Dipping Sauce. Squeezing a few drops of Pepperoncini really notches up the flavor with a little spicy, pickly tang. Once I am done with the body of the pizza slice and I am left with crust I love to dip it in the Garlic Dipping Sauce to make a great little garlic breadstick. Overall, was satisfied. 3 stars feels right but people are just killing this place and it has only been open a week. I am always leery of those Yelpers who jump all over a newly opened place and they only have a couple reviews. Good luck Papa John's, see you next time the mrs. is out. read more

Warning be careful ordering from Papa Johns. Our order was never delivered. They said we provided the wrong address and are refusing refund. They argued on the phone and hung up on us. We just moved and read the address off of the paper and several people heard the address said correctly while the order was being placed. I'll be contacting bank account about the payment but wanted to warn others. Very rude and unprofessional. Will never order again read more

We ordered two large pizzas today and, when I arrived to pick them up (while wearing a mask per Covid-19 protocols), I noticed that the cook was not wearing a mask and the guy at the cash register had his below his nose. I said that they need to wear masks. The counter guy lowered his all the way and asked what I was talking about. Not sure if he could understand me through my mask. The cook came out and actually got a little testy with me. I told him that he needs to wear a mask to protect his customers. He said that he was going to put it on. I know local guides will probably trash any chain pizza places but out of all the Papa John's I've ordered from, this one ALWAYS gets it right and it's the best pizza, breadsticks, cheese sticks, wings every time we order. I was really hoping the pizza here would be good. This was the first time I had their pizza and seeing all the commercials and all, I had high expectations. I ordered my first pizza on the day of the Superbowl. I ordered 2 large combination pizzas. I never had such little toppings. Even Little Caesars had double the amount of toppings. Fresh ingredients? Negative! There was only one person ahead of me, but I guess they were training someone new that day? Anyways, being the second person in line, I had to wait 15 minutes to get my pizza. I really wanted it to be good. I couldn't believe Folsom didn't have Papa Johns when I moved here. Papa Johns certainly isn't the best pizza in the world, but given that pizza in Folsom generally sucks, I was excited to see a Papa Johns open. How could you mess up a tried and true place like Papa Johns? Just follow the franchise owner's manual, try not to suck, and you should produce a half-way decent product. Well, it was OK, but short of that admittedly low bar. maybe they are just working things out. First, I ordered the Pizza with light sauce and it very clearly had "extra" sauce. Someone got confused I guess. Also, the pizza was lukewarm upon arrival. Second, we paid for an extra butter garlic sauce and the driver said he forgot it. May not seem like a big deal, but that's what makes Papa John's worthwhile. Papa Johns butter garlic sauce covers a multitude of pizza making sins. This location should consider doubling up on the sauce it sends out just as a preemptive measure. Third, I can't over exaggerate this point. A one-eyed drunk with vertigo cut this pizza. It was the worst, most imprecisely cut pizza I've ever seen. The largest slice was 6x larger than the smallest slice with the others varying in degrees of comically sized slices. Not kidding, one slice was 9 inches wide while another was 1.5 inches. Super weird. Again just read the manual under "how to slice a pizza." I'm actually concerned for the safety of the pizza slicer and anyone standing around him. The guy's going to do some damage if he's allowed to wield sharp instruments much longer. Maybe put him on "matching the number of ordered sauces to the number of delivered sauces" duty. He couldn't do worst than whoever's heading that department now. read more
