I haven't been in a papa Murphy's since I was a kid up in Oregon. I decided to give it a try. Tuesday's pizzas are $10 or $13 for a 16 inch. You van build up to 5 toppings of choice or a signature pizza. Pizza has so many toppings. Impressive - nice to see they still don't skimp on toppings. Desserts are &5 or two for $8. I am shameful. I had the egg free cookie dough in my mouth before the transaction was complete. Probably don't need the pizza anymore. Bonus is I bake it. So I can freeze 1/2 for a future midnight snack attack. I purchased a Papa favorite thin crust pizza and put it in the oven for the 18 minutes at 425 degrees and the crust was stuck to the paper oven plate. I put it in for another 6 minutes and it help but still coming apart on the bottom. I am not sure what they change on there pizza dough but it was trouble. I use to buy weekly from them and stop due to the terrible service. I thought I would try them again. The service was fantastic but the pizza was very bad. I wonder if anyone else had this issue. You know for a pizza place set up like a subway it isn't that bad! When we want a cheep easy dinner this place is great! They are super cheap and fast and you bake the pizza at home. As the name says, they make the pizza then you take it home and bake it. Interesting concept. I think it's a little pricey, but they put on a LOT of toppings. Their largest size barely fits in our oven (which is a standard wall oven). But it fits. They put it on a baking tray for you, but after about 8-10 minutes you want to take it off the tray so the bottom of the crust will firm-up a bit. You can leave it on the tray, but it will come out limp. Cooked, but limp. Transferring to the oven rack resolves that problem. It is easy to tear the crust doing this, so be careful (or put the tray on a rack below the pizza to catch anything that may drip). We ripped one because we tried to move it too soon. The pizza itself is very tasty. Toppings seem fresh, and the sauce is good. And I prefer eating at home anyway! There are coupons available pretty regularly (mail flyers and such), which make it a bit less pricey. read more

Let me just start by saying I order from this Papa Murphy's 2 to 3 times a week. It's on my way home from my office. It's easy to order a pizza pick it up in the drive-through and go home. I've never had a issue with bad customer service or them getting my order wrong. Just spoke with John the Shift Leader. They made me a chicken bacon ranch instead of a chicken bacon artichoke. We do not care for ranch sauce that they use on the chicken bacon ranch, so we do not order it, nor will anyone eat it in my household other than the 7 yo. I was told I can either pack up my son, drive 30 minutes back (one hour total) with the cooked and un-eaten pizza to get a replacement, or they'll only give me 50% back if I choose to come tomorrow or any other day. I asked to speak to a manager. I told the manager is out of town until Tuesday. I asked John if he was in charge until then. He told me, "you could say that." I asked him if it was store policy, to get the pizza remade that I would have to the pizza the same evening? He replied "that's how it's been done in the past." Essentially I got nowhere. For this being a franchise, I would definitely work on employee training, especially with someone that you've promoted to being a shift leader. There was no apology. No offer to rectify the situation, other than inconveniencing me more than they already have, after I've worked a 12 hour day. The shift leader, who obviously has no authority, or was just being stubborn and did not want to replace the pizza that they made incorrectly, I was told is the highest management team member I am able to talk to you until next Tuesday. This being a franchise I requested either the owners or someone above a shift leaders contact info. He said he'll call me that with that within 30 minutes. It's outrageous that I have to go through this, To get the pizza I ordered correctly and wasn't given correctly. Absolutely no customer service. read more

I think Papa Murphy's pizza is a bit bland, but for some reason I keep coming back. Maybe it's for the periodic coupons like 25% off a $20 order or the other $2 off your next large pizza purchase they usually attach to the purchased pizzas. I purchased two Friday special priced $5.99 thin crust pepperoni pizzas and a $5.99 thin crust cheese pizza. I decided to put my own garlic on the outer edge crust around the pizzas, add sprinkles of dried oregano and basil around the pizzas, add my own chopped onions and extra cheese to one of the pepperoni pizzas, and they tasted slightly better than normal. The pizzas always have the greasy taste, and really bland toppings. I think the chicken mediterranean thin crust pizza is pretty tasty, though. I may try the chicken artichoke spinach pizza next time. read more

I went in and ordered a promo special. I was told by the person at the counter that that promo is not available anymore and I was charged $5 more than the $8 price that was quoted. I pointed out that this is an online special and she said it was no longer available. I sent a message to the Papa Murphy corporate site who promised me twice that my complaint will be sent to the local owner. Two months later I've heard absolutely nothing and I spent $13 on an $8 Pizza. I wasn't too sure I liked the idea of having to bake my own pizza, but it actually works out well when you need to pick up food early to serve later (ex: book clubs, play-dates, casual weeknight dinners, etc.) The main reason I like them is because they have interesting and unique topping combinations including "Hamburger" (with pickles on it!), "Cowboy", and their Gourmet Veggie (white garlic sauce instead of red sauce on base) which is my favorite, and I'm not even a vegetarian! They also offer dessert pizzas such as s'mores and cinnamon, which are pretty good too. If you're looking for something fast and casual, give Papa Murphy's a shot. Until around two months ago this would have been 5 stars. We buy a pizza here at least once a week. Despite the staff assurances that the same measurements are used every time, we're finding it hit and miss of late. One week it will beat out Rosati's or Oregano's, the next it will just be so-so. This is due to the amount of tomato sauce used on the pizza. Sometimes it's the perfect amount, others far too little - meaning it just doesn't have the right jing. When we complained the first time we received a $4 coupon, which was nice, but not the point. The second time I was told 'If you want more sauce you have to ask for it.' Be that as it may, and in the future we certainly will, why the inconsistency if exactly the same measurements are used every time? Obviously this is a cop out. So 3 stars, and I am very sorry to have to do it. The virtually sauceless pizza is on a par with any of the other glut of Pizza houses - good, but nothing special. The saucier 'original recipe' pie was the best pizza ever for 4 years straight, and was, until recently, peerless. read more
