    Fusilli Alla Vodka

Great meal at Papa Razzi. I had been to a location in Boston years ago, but hadn't checked out the Wellesley spot yet. The restaurant was packed on a Friday night - would definitely recommend making a reservation if going on a weekend. The bar area did have a few seats left though. The bar is a decent size with comfy seats and a few TVs. The food was delicious and wine, beer, and cocktail list had a lot of good options. The chicken parm and fusilli alla vodka were both delicious - and while we didn't order any appetizers this time I definitely will in the future. Overall it was a nice festive atmosphere and I'm looking forward to returning.

pappardelle that had braised lamb shoulder ragu and pecorino

One day, my coworkers and I ordered lunch from Papa Razzi located in Wellesley. The online system was a little tricky to use since it wasn't recognizing our office address at Newton-Wellesley Hospital - Main Campus. After a while, we got it to work. The food was set to arrive about 12:30pm. Around 12:15pm, my manager received a call from the DoorDash driver who said he was waiting in the lobby of the hospital. We walked on over from our office to the lobby. The food was packed in paper boxes with a window so it was easy to see which order belong to whom since it wasn't labelled. The food cooled down pretty quickly. I had the pappardelle with braised lamb shoulder ragu and pecorino. It had good flavor and taste, but I thought the portion was small for $24.00 and the noodles were kinda clumping together. The food is probably better served hot.

Came here for a work event, and the place itself was really pretty, and the service was great. The entrees were really good: crab cake bites and mushroom bites. I also liked the Caesar salad; all the combinations were really well mixed. I ordered the chicken piccata, and it was really good; the chicken Parmesan was good too. For dessert I got a tiramisu, which was good, and I also tried the chocolate mousse cake, I just took a few bites as it got overwhelming.

I've been eating at Papa Razzis basically my entire life, as it has always been a favorite of some of my family members, most of whom are Italian on that parent's side. Sadly the one in my hometown recently closed, but I've dined at this location a couple times recently at least. It's one of my favorite restaurants, with a wonderful selection of pastas. The interior is large, with an upscale atmosphere, and the service is great. The menu seems to change a decent amount so it's worth visiting multiple times. The beef and sausage meatballs were wonderful as well as the carbonara, the latter with a bit of spice to it, and my favorite might have to be the Bolognese!

Went here on a Thursday night and there was certainly a good crowd. I ordered the arugula salad which advertised tomato confit and a lemon vinaigrette. It seemed as though there was not tomato confit, but instead normal cherry tomatoes which did not taste super fresh - similar with the arugula. The size of the salad was great and wasn't too small or too large, however, it just didn't really taste like new or fresh ingredients. Maybe I was just there on an off day. Later for dessert I ordered the tiramisu which was a good, but it tasted more like a cake than a tiramisu. Instead of the signature lady fingers and cream it was a bit more like two layers of cake and some cream. It was still a nice dessert, however, not what I expected with a tiramisu. I would try going here again on a different day and see if I was here on a bad day.

Service was great as was the food. My server knew exactly how to guide me to the gluten free picks on the menu. Only reason this is not 5 stars is the gluten free roll at the beginning of the meal was obviously a packaged roll. Really dry and crumbly. The Octopus starter and Bavette's meal over potato puree with mushrooms was awesome. Cooked just to my expectations.

    No Yummy.

I got a delivery from this restaurant. Very pricey. The pizza was burned and cold with too little pepperoni. The deliver driver did not hand out the pizza. The order was left outside the doorway. Chicken parmigiana too salty. The whole order was a mess. If you see the picture is something that kills your appetite

The food is delicious, the waiter was perfect - I had the carpaccio to start and our waiter picked a terrific Pinot noir to go with it.

A Hidden Gem in Wellesley…read more La Toscana's offers a lot more than its facade may suggest. Under the direction of a wonderful new chef, La Toscana's shows what elevated Italian cuisine can be like when care is emphasized from start to finish. We chose to have a milestone birthday celebration at La Toscana's because we had gone there a few weeks prior and were thoroughly impressed. We started the evening with a variety of appetizers including stuffed zucchini flowers, meatballs, and Caesar salads. The stuffed zucchini flowers were an instant favorite at the table-- hot, filled with rich, delicate ricotta, and crunchy on the outside. The meatballs were large, fluffy, perfectly seasoned, and accompanied by the elegant house marinara sauce. The Caesar salad was light and delicious with the welcome addition of sundried tomatoes. We then shared two excellent pizzas-- the margherita for the adults and a cheese for the kids. Both were notable for a crispy thin crust, perfect blend of sweet and tangy marinara, and perfectly balanced cheese. If this weren't great enough, the house-made pasta exceeded expectations. The chef makes the pasta daily and then creates the different types to order right before your very eyes-- in the window of the restaurant. With care and precision, he measures and cuts creating pappardelle, agnolotti, and tortello. Stand-out dishes at the table included the ricotta-filled agnolotti served with a decadent mushroom cream sauce. The pappardelle Bolognese was incredible with the perfect bite to the pasta and a flavorful and balanced meat sauce. The gnocchi with pesto creme is also another dish not to be missed. If you are fortunate enough to strike up a conversation with the chef, you will learn amazing insights into how he thinks about pasta and its preparation as well as his journey to Wellesley. It's a great story! We will certainly be coming back and hope to celebrate more great dinners at La Toscana's.

It's located on Wellesley's bustling Central Avenue, where you'll need to be lucky to grab a parking spot. You'll find a big parking lot behind Central Street to be much more convenient. It's an elegant higher end Italian restaurant with locations also in Fairfax, VA, Washington D.C., Logan Airport, and in Connecticut at Foxwoods Casino. Service was impeccable with numerous checkbacks and beverage refills. Our table started off with an excellent Garlic Bread appetizer with Spicy Tomato Basil Dipping Sauce ($12) and Nonna's Meatballs with Spicy Tomato Sauce, Ricotta, and Parmesan ($16). I really loved the meatballs! My wife and I split an Arugula Salad with Shaved Mushrooms, Truffles, and Parmesan cheese ($15). It was a large lightly dressed portion that was refreshing and very tasty. Believe me when I say that half a portion was plenty. I ordered an Allagash White and was surprised when it came out as a 16-ounce can and one of the coldest frosted Pilsner glasses I ever ran into ! My wife's entrée was Mama Zecca's Eggplant with San Marzano Tomato, Fresh Mozzarella, Parmesan, and a ton of Broccoli Aglio Olio ($29). I ordered the Fedelini Vongole with Manilla Clams, Cherry Tomatoes, Lemon and Parsley over pasta ($29), but a few minutes after I ordered it our server told us it has been sold out. That was the only demerit I saw with the service, I wish I'd have been told when I ordered. Instead, I pivoted to the Rigatoni alla Buttera with Italian Fennel Sausage, Fresh Peas, and Creamy Tomato Sauce over pasta ($29). Fantastic! The two children in our party went with an Individual 6 Slice 12" Cheese Pizza 12" ($17) and side orders of Grilled Chicken Breast ($12) and Grilled Shrimp ($13). When we walked in for our early dinner, Alta Strada wasn't too crowded. By the time we left, it was pretty much jam packed. We had an excellent experience.

We read the reviews regarding bad customer service and the way they treat their employees and child customers so decided to order takeout. When we picked up the food and got it home, the burger was slathered with melted cheese and grilled onions/peppers. She spoke with the manager/owner, Zee who said that they could make another burger and we could come and pick it up in 20 minutes, but we would be charged the full amount even though it was their fault. I said that's not acceptable and I would be happy to return the food and they could credit me or replace it, but she said no. I told her that I would dispute the charge with AMEX and she said go right ahead. AMEX will handle this now. This is not the customer service you expect when you're paying with your heart earned cash. Wonder what they would have done if we were actually eating there and they brought the wrong food to our table? Stay away from this restaurant if you value your money and respect your dignity. Zee, the owner/manager of the restaurant, called me today as he read my post online. He apologized profusely for the miscommunication and confusion regarding our order and wanted to make it right.
