Three scrambled eggs over corned beef hash extra crispy bacon and rye toast
    Jenny H.

Just want to start off saying that I'm not usually a fan of diner style Americana breakfast but this place was great! Definitely a hidden gem in this area and so happy we stumbled upon it randomly today. All the food hit the spot and wasn't greasy like a lot of diners I've been to. I asked for bacon extra crispy and it was perfect. The corned beef hash had crispness and wasn't overly salty like a lot of places. Everyone was super nice and loved that our water cups had ice. Definitely coming back!

All Veggie and Cheese Omelet and breakfast set

such a local gem! i passed by this place all the time but i never stepped foot in until now. the space is small and homey, feels like a family owned restaurant so i had a feeling it was going to be good. prices are reasonable considering how big of a portion you get. we ordered the breakfast set where you can choose how many eggs, type of toast, and side of meat, plus it comes with the home fries which when i tasted it are cooked in their bacon fat, so delish! additionally we ordered the veggie and cheese omelette which was so gigantic i could barely finish it. it had american cheese, personally i prefer a stringier cheese but this was still solid. a no frills restaurant, reliable, hearty, and worth the price. service was quick and friendly. i would definitely come back here again, it's going to have a special place in my heart.

Crispy as you'd expect, but filled with crab and not just a bunch of cream cheese filling. Perfect start to the meal. I had the swordfish for my main. It was spiced wonderfully and cooked well. The cous cous side was nice and bright (cold), and the tomatoes mixed in provided a nice acidic bump along with the dressing. This was our first time going since it had opened as the Fireside Tavern. It is fair to say we were underwhelmed. My wife ordered a Dirty Martini and it had a lot of vermouth in it which is not the correct way to prepare it. For an appetizer we got the Calamari which was very good. Crispy and tender with delicious hot peppers added in as well. For the main courses we got the Chicken Piccata severed over Gnocchi which was good but nothing special. Gnocchi were a bit denser than we like. Our other main was the Seafood Paella. On the plus side it had a lot of seafood in it, mussels, Shrimp, Scallops and a white fish. All of the sish was cooked well and was tender and juicy. However it did not appear to be cooked in a Paella pan so you didn't get some of those bites of crispy rice and the seasoning was off it had no saffron or tomatoes like I am used to. It was more like a plain rice that they added peas, carrots, and red pepper. Just didn't taste like any form of the paella that I have eaten previously. Jenna our server was awesome and attentive but not overbearing. She was fantastic and made for an enjoyable evening.

That said, the staff is very efficient and does an excellent job of getting people in and out without making the customers feel rushed (not always an easy thing to do in my opinion!). Don't be deterred by the line because it moves quickly and it is absolutely worth the wait. Eli's is a real hidden gem and great neighborhood spot for locals and those traveling from out of town. The food is DELICIOUS and the portions are huge. Food is fresh and made to order yet still comes out quickly! Staff are very attentive. Our recent orders have included the Truffle Shuffle Omelet, No Name Omelet, Porky Pig Omelet, Hot Mama Omelet and the Island Breakfast. All were incredible. The house made pico is super fresh. We usually ask for the sour cream on the side as opposed to on top of the omelet. My parents said the coffee was really good. Great array of hot sauces to choose from as well. Next time I need to remember to order my hash browns extra crispy (they are good as is but extra crispy is just a personal preference!). There is a great mix of people in the restaurant every time we go. People from all over and from all walks of life (families, elderly patrons, young couples, etc.).

They have a limited menu but an extensive selection of scotch and wine. I sat at the bar where the bartender could have cared Lee if I was there. He spent all his time catering to group at the end of the bar. I had to get up and ask the waitress to check on my cheeseburger. The bartender just did not care. I thought the price for a simple cheeseburger at 22.00 as steep. There was nothing special about it. Cheese, hamburger, bun and some jalapeño relish. Take your chances just don't sit at the bar instead sit at a table where the service is better.

We walked into a spacious, contemporary space with a large bar and plenty of seating, the kind of place that works equally well for watching a game with friends or a relaxed dinner. The interior had a comfortable, polished energy that struck a balance between lively and approachable, and the extensive beer and whiskey selection added to the inviting atmosphere. The menu goes beyond typical bar food with a mix of elevated comfort dishes, burgers, sandwiches, seafood, and seasonal entrées. We ordered a few items and found the Chilean sea bass standing out, paired with a flavorful sauce that complemented the fish without overpowering it. The lamb with gnocchi was another popular choice, offering a hearty and well-balanced dish with tender meat and pillowy gnocchi that absorbed the rich sauce. The burgers were cooked to order and made a reliable option for something more casual, arriving juicy and well assembled. For drinks and appetizers, the calamari, burrata, and flatbreads were good options to share, each coming out fresh and well seasoned. The bar program was another highlight, with a wide selection of craft beers, whiskey, and classic cocktails that were well prepared and paired naturally with the food. Service was friendly and welcoming, with staff happy to make recommendations and accommodate different group sizes. While some visits could experience slower service during busy periods, the overall experience tended to be attentive, and the team worked to create a comfortable atmosphere for both families and larger groups. The pacing of the meal stayed steady, and the food came out without much delay. Parking is available in a small lot, though it could fill up during peak dining hours, and the restaurant's location near shopping on Needham Street made it a convenient stop before or after running errands. Overall, District 118 Kitchen & Bar is a solid choice for anyone looking for elevated pub fare in a relaxed setting. The combination of quality food, a strong drink selection, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it equally enjoyable for a casual lunch, dinner with family, or an evening out with friends.

A lot of iterations of Cottage have come and gone since we were first introduced to it almost twenty years ago. They still serve passionfruit iced tea that hits with a nice tart and a hint of sweetness from the orange. Their sandwiches are tasty, I had a blackened cod. The slaw was a touch too runny, it absorbed the heat of the sandwich and overwhelmed the poor onion ring. The cod survived the onslaught, though, and was well cooked and seasoned.
