I'll cut to the chase then come back around for details ... DO NOT SLEEP ON PAPA's PIZZA OVEN! 10/10, food and experience, you will not be disappointed, I promise! . 1) SAUCE: They offer two standard red pizza sauces (other specialty options, but we're just talking standard for now) - if you like a sweet sauce PLEASE order here! I have no words for how delicious it is. The saucey, cheesy edges get a little carmelization from the method that they form and bake their pizza and it all comes together in this amazingly balanced , tradition Buffalo pie. 2) DOUGH: perfectly done, imo, Buffalo-style. Not too thick but not thin, cooked fast and hot and gives that slight but great char we love from the likes of OG Imperial and Bocce. But it's Papa's time NOW! The cheesy saucy edges get melty and a little charred over the perfect crusty edges and THAT is what pizza dreams are made of. 3) CHEESE: plentiful, fresh and baked to perfection with a fantastic pull. They put enough that you don't have a bite without just the right amount of cheese but not a crazy amount that is thick and loses its taste. Papa's is all about balance. ‍ 4) TOPPINGS!: ABUNDANT!! Do not wonder if you need to order double-anything to have the right amount of toppings - and by right amount I mean every bite. Pepperoni- cup & char bc Buffalo For the mushroom enthusiasts, they use a plentiful amount of the jarred 'shrooms, which I happen to think are elite on pizza bc they do not dry out. Before you send the mushroom police for me, jarred mushrooms and sautéed mushrooms (I know of only 2 places in the world that puts this on pizza as a standard) are the best on pizza, but you can try and prove me wrong. 5) Wings: a Buffalo girl's review - fresh, definitely one of the heftier sized wings, homemade blue cheese that is hella flavourful and also available by the large tub for fans like us. Their portion is large per order of wings comparatively in the area and it is DELISH. Their wing flavours are delicious- mild is very mild but incredibly tasty, Medium is a solid mild + a smidge hotter if you are wondering. The wet Cajun wings are out of this world and rival the Cajun wings at Elmo's. SO GOOD! 6) Last but not least the STAFF! I don't know anyone that works there, but they treat you like friends when you walk in the door. On the phone, the guy that most often answers is so nice, pays attention and never misses and sounds HAPPY to make your pie. We asked for extra sweet sauce via phone bc I ordered for my Mom to deliver to her and couldn't find it on Doordash, he was so kind and helpful! And he's like that EVERY TIME. It makes such a difference. The prices are good, the food is always fresh and beyond tasty and we crave this pizza .. which honestly hasn't happened in a long time. If you're looking to sit down, there are seats for pickup wait, but no dine in option at this time. Papa's Pizza Oven = Pizza Perfection for us. We hope you'll give them a try real soon! As a native Long Islander, I am very particular about my pizza. I've never been a huge fan of Buffalo-style pizza...that was until I found Papa's Pizza Oven. Finding this family-owned pizza place was like a breath of fresh air in a sea of unfortunate pizza experiences i've had in Buffalo. The first time I walked into Papa's, I was adorably greeted by the owner's 9 year old son. It's no question where he gets his charisma from--the owner welcomed me with a kindness that made me feel right at home. This place is OUTSTANDING. Hands down the best pizza in all of Buffalo. Their sweet sauce is unlike anything i've ever had before--absolutely delicious!! After my first visit to Papa's, I found myself going back a few short days later, unable to shake the thought of their savory slices. Now onto the wings!! They are everything you could possibly want in a wing. Big, saucy & crunchy. The garlic sticks are phenomenal as well. Light, airy & full of flavor. On my social media feed, I have been seeing quite a few photos from Papa's Pizza Oven and quite a bit of excitement about them. I finally had a chance to try them and, all-in-all, they were ok. I called around 4:45pm on a Saturday and immediately asked to wait and put on hold. I was on hold for two minutes or so before I was tended to. The woman who took my order seemed friendly enough but inexperienced as I will explain more in a moment. I placed my order and was told it would be ready for pickup in 40 minutes. I arrived about 40-45 minutes later and found a parking spot in their parking lot with relative ease. Looks like there is a café next door but it was closed at this point so that was probably why there were a few more parking spots. I walked in and there were a few customers standing around but one of the young women at the cash register asked me my name and what I ordered. I did not notice any dine-in seating but that is pretty standard for Buffalo pizza shops so that was no big deal for me. I do have a few critiques about my experience. Looking at all the orders ready for pickup, I noticed "Clark F" and thought for a moment maybe they did not put my order in, but this was indeed my order. I know, it is a relatively small nitpick, but it does need to be called out. I did tell them it was actually "Clark S" and they said it was hard to hear customers on the phone... Which leads to a bigger issue of they took my order wrong, thus they made it wrong by not including one of the toppings I asked for. To compound this, they ran out of one of the toppings after I placed my order, but in this case, they did refund me the cost of the topping, $3, and gave me a card for $3 off my next order (albeit they wrote "Clark F" so it probably will not be valid). The two young women were friendly and they cashed me out in no time. I think these issues come down to inexperience, so I hope they can sort it out and not let it define them like it does with some other Buffalo pizza shops! What I ordered was the half (9", six slice) "Clark Classic": cheese, pepperoni, bacon, green peppers, and onions on their default/standard sweet red sauce. What I received though was a half cheese pizza with bacon, green peppers, and a trace of onions (due to them running out after I placed my order). First things first, if you do not sweet red sauce, do not order any pizza from Papa's Pizza Oven with it, order their regular red sauce! I like sweet red sauce but wow, theirs is SUPER sweet, a little too much for me. For the dough, it is cut like Bocce Club and Imperial, but is not nearly as dense and pillow-y. I found the dough to be more wet than I like towards the center and thinner than most of the Buffalo pizza shops I go to. The outer crust had a bit of char to it, similar to Bocce Club, with a little crunch so that was good. There was plenty of sweet red sauce and a good amount of cheese, though the two edge slices could have used just a little more, especially with the base of my order being a cheese pizza. There was plenty of bacon and green peppers on top, all of it real bacon and fresh cut green peppers. I was surprised though by how greasy this pizza was, my hands were coated as a grabbed each slice. The pizza did fill me up though and I was full. The price I paid was very affordable compared to other Buffalo pizza shops, albeit they did not make what I asked. Overall, Papa's Pizza Oven was ok! They have some issues to work out but they seem to be doing well as I just read an article they have opened two more locations within the last few months. This pizza did not hit for me like I wanted and will not be a go-to Buffalo pizza shop for me, but I am happy they are serving up pizza that many Buffalonians are vibing with! read more

I saw a Facebook post with their pizza and great customer service which pulled me in, despite being a 30 minute round trip. I had to try it! And it was worth it! I ordered a special with 10 medium wings, 1/4 pizza with sweet sauce and a 1/2 pizza buffalo. I loved everything! The wings stayed pretty crispy despite the drive (I did crack the box so heat and steam could escape). The sweet sauce was awesome and I'd love to order it again. Chicken finger pizza was great as well! I will give a little warning ... I ordered online and assumed my wings would come with celery and blue cheese. I saw an up charge for blue cheese but assumed that was for extra. I got home and it came with ranch. The ranch was good and a nice quality but I would have preferred blue cheese but in all reality the wings were so good I didn't really care. But just thought I would share the tip. Also, the website ordering will tell you they will contact you with a pick up time but when I didn't hear anything after 11 minutes, I called the shop and they said they don't really do that and just told me when my order would be ready when I called. This place is amazing!! The flavor of the sauce (they offer regular and sweet), and with just the two of us here, the options are great. You can get a half or quarter pizza! We just got a half double double (double cheese and double pepperoni) tonight with double mushrooms. It was SO GOOD!!! I'm crazy about the wings too! My fav is the garlic Parmesan. I really hop e they stick around because everyone that works there is so great! Super friendly and helpful on the phone and when you go in for pickup! Buffalo chicken fingers are supposed to be 3xs the size of what we got. we paid $30 for 10 fingers that were the size of a McNugget. The good? Their pizza is really really good. Exceptional, actually, in what is generally a pizza desert in the middle of Lancaster. The bad? Their counter service and trafficking of phone/online orders is beyond appalling. Even if you show up 15-20 minutes past your allotted pick up time, expect to stand in their lobby and wait and wait and wait with other customers bearing pained looks on their faces waiting for their orders. The entertainment? Watching the kitchen staff running around chaotically, smoke alarms going off, the counter gal busy tapping on her phone while unattended pizza and wing boxes continue to stack up on the counter behind her. All this could be resolved by better management oversight and training. At least there wasn't the swivel iPad shaming customers by asking for "22% 25% 30% or custom tip". read more

I wanted to LOVE this place! I was recommended their pizza so I tried a cheese and pepperoni w their sweet sauce on one half and reg. sauce on the other! I absolutely LOVED the half w regular sauce. But what is most impt. in the food industry? CONSISTENCY!!! And wow is this place inconsistent! I then ordered pizza FOUR more times from them and I cannot believe how unbelievably bad it was! Too doughy, not enough sauce, underdone, not enough pepperoni! It's ashame because I decided to fairly try it again, and again and again but unfortunately after the fifth try and being 1 for 5 on a great pie-I'm giving up. First time ordering here after hearing rave reviews from coworkers. First, definitely love the online ordering, was very easily laid out to get exactly what ingredients you want. The pizza was heavy and felt substantial. We ordered the regular sauce. We really liked the pizza, you can tell they use quality ingredients, no "fake" mozzarella and dough was cooked perfectly, almost... the shape is not your usual perfect circle, sort of a circle and sort of square actually. The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars was because the half with the mushrooms was puffy and thicker, compared to the side with just pepperoni, which was thinner and saucier. I will definitely be back, next time I'll try the "mixed" sauce option, which is regular sauce mixed with their sweeter sauce, and also try it on a less busier night (it was a Saturday evening and the place was very very busy). I like to consider myself somewhat of a Pizza connoisseur as it's pretty much my favorite food and living in Buffalo you're never spoiled for choice, or indeed unable to try new places. Papa's opened recently and I don't live too far away so have been wanting to try them out for a while. I've heard good and some bad ( you're always going to get that regardless ) but wanted to form my own opinions. I stopped by for a slice and found out they don't do slices, no big deal its my fault for not checking ahead of time but they did mention they do 1/4 Pizza's which I thought was a great idea , as such the next day I ordered a 1/4 Cheese and Pepperoni for pickup with the sweet sauce as I wanted to try it. When I arrived, they informed me that they messed up my order and made a whole pizza instead and here you go....nice surprise and great service. Took it home and started biting into it.....outstanding is all I can say, great tasting sauce, Spicy Pepperoni cooked just right and just burnt enough without being too much and a good amount of cheese to sauce ratio. I would have written glowing things anyway without the added bonus of the whole pizza but that was certainly good service instead of them re-making it and making me wait. In a sea of Pizza Choices Papa's is well worth trying out, I'll be back again to try some of their other creations as they have a varied menu ! read more

Newly opened on Camp Rd. Hamburg. John, the manager is great. Front counter staff are friendly and helpful. Very busy, so order ahead. The pizza is over the top. Thin crust blackened at the edges. Three choices of sauce: regular, sweet or combo of both. Sweet was too sweet, prefer the regular. Good size, cupped pepperoni. Delicious. Most customers are repeat and in such a short time open, many have returned 3 and 4 times, myself included. The chicken wings are good, prefer standard blue cheese to the homemade offered. The homemade spice overshadows the wings. Would prefer to have a choice. Happy to have Papas Pizza Oven nearby. Lookout Picasso's..Papas is cheaper and as good. read more

I give the restaurant two stars because they do have a good product. It's very similar to Picasso's the difference between "Picasso" and "Papas Pizza Oven" is there's always delays with the order at "Papas"sometimes as long as an hour and a half to two hours and that has been my experience the last two times I've been there. The last time I just left without my order but the first time I went there I waited an hour and a half and according to the customers that's been going on for three months and they consistently do nothing to correct it. They're shortstaffed and if you want reliability, place your order with Picasso's they have a great pizza and way better service!I read more

Have had a few pizzas since they opened, they have a regular sauce and a sweet sauce. Sweet sauce is interesting but I prefer the regular. This is a terrific pizza. It's got the char pieces on the crust just like a couple legendary Buffalo Pizzerias have. Pizza made to perfection each time. I think they will do very well because they put out a great product. I have been dying to try Papa's Pizza Oven for their sweet sauce because that's what I grew up with. I ordered at 11:30am, right when they opened, and was told 12:45 was the earliest I could get my sheet pizza and 10 chicken fingers. Already annoyed that it would be so long I agreed anyways. I arrived at 12:45 to about 10+ people waiting for their food. Some had been waiting over 30min. The lady cashes me out and goes to get my order. She comes back and tells me that they haven't even started it. Then she followed it up with, probably will be 15 min. I'm thinking there is no way and someone else chimed in and said, "more like 30-45 min." I didn't really have a choice but to oblige because this food was for a party that was already going on. So I left and came back. My food was ready! I asked for some kind of a discount and all they did was had me write my name and number down for a future discount. I get to my car and realize they never gave me the extra blue cheese I asked and paid for. So I went back in and got it. I deliver the food to the party and instead of giving me chicken fingers, they gave me chicken wings. With all that being said, the food was very good and I loved the pizza. I would love to have that pizza be our new go-to spot but I am so turned off by the poor customer service and preparation. The fact that a manager wouldn't even take time to talk to me about it and give me some of my money back is ridiculous. I also left a large tip prior to getting the notice that they hadn't started cooking my food yet.
