In a quick rush for lunch so we ordered some food from here. We ordered it online for pick up. I was craving a burger or a sub and decided we had to try a new spot. I ended up getting the best of both worlds with a cheeseburger sub! The sub itself was great! the burger was perfectly cooked and the roll was great. Would have liked maybe a couple options for toppings but all in all was a great sub. I also got a side of fries that were great. Your typical fries you'd get but they still went good with the burger. I also got some breadsticks. I forgot to add cheese to them on the order but my son still loved them and I thought they were pretty good too. Pick up was quick and service was friendly. Super clean interior, friendly cashier at the register. Perfect presentation on the pizza, sauce is on the sweet side and it had the perfect amount of cheese. Pizza logs, well they're pizza logs. Nothing really spectacularly different than most other ones. Wings. Touch on the smaller side, sauce was sparse on the medium and wasn't really "medium" it ate like a dry mild. The garlic parm, I'm sure was buttery, but the paper container drank most of that up. Pizza Heist has decent pizza for great prices. A tomato paste tasting sauce with a good amount of cheese. Two slices are about $5. You can't beat that pricing anywhere in Lancaster! My biggest gripe with PH is that they don't serve slices after 4pm. So don't bother stopping in for a few for dinner because they just don't have them. I get that's their busiest time but the financial benefits of offering slices would be worth it. I've never known a place not to offer them all day. The parking lot is also the absolute worst. The intersection where it is located is one of the busiest 4-way stops in the area and their parking lot consists of 4 parking spots, backing right into the street. It's awful. That alone would keep me from going there. The pricing is the reason I do. read more

I love the dense, oregano heavy, thick sauce. A little sweet. The sauce so rarely sticks out at places. This one does. It reminds me of childhood somehow. Also a slight biscuity crunch of the dough reminds me of Chicago style. It's a local place that tries to stand out. So rather than the Pizza Heisman, you just seriously need to get down to Depew-Lancaster and try the Pizza Heist, man. Just don't show up when the place is being robbed, okay? I mean with a name like this, it gets robbed all the time. And usually at gunpoint. You don't wanna be in that room when those robbererers bring that Bang Bang into the room. And you might get that Pizza all over you. But if you do, they'll let you have it. And you'll be like... wait a minute, can you heat this up (ah ah), wait a minute can you (ahhhhh). Not a fan of that song. But yeah I know Domino's been good to you, you need a Pizza Heist to blow your miiiiiiiiind. What to get: Slices. There are some pretty amazing slices in Western NY, but Pizza Heist is right up there with the very best of them. Not only amazing, juicy, delicious, Imperial-esque slices, but amazing service and prices too. Slices and prices... two reasons to go here. I mean look at the name. And the marquee says "a meal for a steal!" and they are right. Maybe because they market themselves as dirt cheap, people think they are also dirt poor quality. Not at all. It's some of the best pizza around. The first time I went in, they endeared themselves to me by selling me a slice for around $2 which totally rocked my world and was significantly better than most of the other slices I've had. Typical Buffalo pizza but done right... fluffy sexy doughy crush with generous hot melted greasy cheese and yummy tasting not-too-sweet homemade herby tomato sauce and those pepperonis that turn up at the edges and get slightly burned and turn into bubbling cauldrons of heart-stopping grease. Yeah, DON'T eat pizza too often. But when you do, try Pizza Heist. I don't always eat Pizza. But when I do, I Heist it. So the second time I came here it was even better. It was late night (they're open til Midnight, baby) and they were about to close, so they had no slices left. But they had a "burned pizza" from earlier which wasn't that burned and still tasted amazing. They said... you can have these 5 slices if you want... I was like... hmm, okay. How much? Oh, it's free. They're burned and we're closing. Okay then... so I tipped them heavily and took the slices (which they kindly warmed back up for me!) and they were absolutely fantastic. So this place earns top marks on every level, for me. I could not recommend it more highly, and it is easily one of the 10 best slice places in WNY in my none-too-humble opinion. So in the words of AG, they literally let me have it. Not that. I mean the pizza. Neither Pizza Heist nor AG has ever let me have *that*. And I'm okay with that. I don't like salt with my pepper anyway, I prefer pepperonly. Tomato is another day. I thank Jesus crust I am still here to write about pizza. Dough not ever take anything for granted. I was a very good customer of Pizza Heist since the opened several years ago, I ordered from them at least once a week sometimes2 & 3 times a week. Yesterday I called at 3:30 PM to have a pie delivered. I always get delivery from them. They told me they could not deliver because of the Bills game that was at 7:30 PM which was 4 hours later. I asked to speak to the owner told him who I was and thought being a good customer I was would make a difference. He did not care in the least I told him I would order from a new pizzaria just a few blocks down the road and take my future business there. Once again he could care less. Called the new place BOZZY'S the happily took my order and delivered it in a very timely fashion. I opened the box and couldn't help notice how much larger the pie was { seems pizza hiest cut down the size of their pies lately as well as raised their prices} ans how much more pepperoni was on the pie. I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience with The Pizza Heist. Someone in passing told me "don't sleep on pizza heist!" And they were right! I ordered a large cheese and pep and double order of wings for a Friday night special- which was a great price! The integrity of each slice was good- meaning it holds up well by itself in the hand and through the dipping in bleh cheese without falling apart. The crust and pepperoni were perfectly crisped and the sauce was the perfect amount and slightly sweet. The bleu cheese is homemade and deliciously garlicky which is a huge bonus in my book. Its a smaller business, but it is clean, theres seating that is accommodating for groups of 3-6 and most importantly the service is top notch. PIZZA TIME! Upon opening the white box filled with beautiful slices of heaven, you notice almost immediately that there was time taken to prepare this pizza (I have never had an ugly pie from here). The sauce is evenly placed almost all the way around the pizza with just the right amount of dough at the end, which is a bonus in my books. Pepperoni is average in taste, and the cheese has just the right amount of flavor that is not overpowering nor underrated, its just right. My favorite ingredient to this pizza is the sauce, its hard to explain other that i can only describe it as subtle and sweet with just the right texture that leaves you wanting more and more after each bite! The dough is not thick and it is not thin, it is right in the middle. Again, the ingredients all work in unison to create a great pizza, not one ingredient is overpowering, it simply works. My wife convinced me to give The Pizza Heist another shot since they are not that far away. Their standard cheese and pepperoni pizza has greatly improved from when I last had their pizza a few years back. My only suggestion is that they cook the pizza just a little bit longer. It's not only Pizza Heist, but I have noticed a lot of places serving slightly undercooked pizza over the past several years. I don't know if the reason for that is that places are just trying to move product faster. I am reluctant to ask for well done from pizzerias in general because many of the kids that answer phones at some of these places will need to have the concept of "well done" pizza explained for about 10 minutes and still not get it, or they will confuse well done with nearly burnt. Pizza shouldn't taste like sauce on a slice of bread there need to be a little crunch in my opinion, however I will be back because prices are great. I keep seeing restaurants advertising Fish Fry in my new town. Usually it's only one day of the week and usually Friday. Maybe it's a Catholic thing. Anyways, we wanted some cheap takeout for our stay-at-home New Year's Eve, and the Heist has fish fry all week. Bingo. For $7.99 you get a huge piece of fish or pile of shrimp with fries and cole slaw. The fish comes with bread and tartar sauce, and the shrimp comes with a really addicting herb-loaded macaroni salad and some cocktail sauce. The fries are plain but good and have the peels on. They might be cut fresh in the store, I'm not sure. The place is small and dim but clean, and has a small private parking lot. The menu is huge. If you're with a group and nobody can decide what to eat, there's pizza, fish fry, fried chicken (including wings, pieces, and fingers), hot and cold subs, tacos, and salads. And probably something I forgot already. Some time when I've got more people over I'll go for the pizza and wings. I suspect this place can do no wrong. I am so glad to find a good local fast-food takeout place close to home. Goodbye 2012, and goodbye Toronto and your horrible Pizza Pizza on every corner. I think I like where I landed. EDIT: Hubby found macaroni salad under the bread after all. Also, two litre pop bottles (you sell pop, if nothing else, in litres down here?) are two bucks. This is good because it's big-brand pop. We recently ordered tacos at this pizzeria. The chicken was deep-fried but not terrible. Steak taco, was fake steak, processed crap. Tasted awful. The beef taco had too much taco seasoning, couldn't taste the beef just seasoning - not good as well! Overall, these were huge taco raps with very little meat inside. It was a sure tell when I picked up the bag and it felt extremely light in weight. Cost, average to high - $5+ a taco. I will never order tacos from there again. read more
